- Mo Lea was attacked by Peter Sutcliffe 40 years ago but her account was ignored by police at the time.
She tells Mark Austin how Sutcliffe chased her through a park when she was 21 years old before attacking her with a hammer.

Very brave lady and they dismissed her statement. Have things changed. I was in Yorkshire at the time. Going to college very scary. Rot in hell evil to the core. His wife knew and she lied for him and her mother.
I was studying in Leeds at the time when there were 3 attacks in 3 months, Mo being one of them, Jacqueline Hill being murdered. I had to leave my bedsit and return home, because it was too scary to be walking around the area. When the news came of his death, I felt anger, relieved and brought back the bad memories of my time there all at the same time. RIP
She didn’t know actually. She sort of would be sleeping 9pm and he would do his stuff. He didn’t hit her or anything. I think she had depression. She was surprised shocked when she found out. His father found out when someone told him and he seen paper
@@insan4508she had schizophrenia. But later got better and became a teacher.
This lady is incredibly emotionally intelligent. So inspiring. She's "awake". I learned a lot from her. Bravo!

Brave lady who calls the ripper a young man, The police have a lot to answer for. What a cruel monster and what a brave cool and calm lady. A good interview who needs to be at the front. Such a nice lady who talks sense so calmly after the terrible ordeal she went to. He didn’t admit it!

We have glorified him by calling him Yorkshire Ripper and he probably thought he was a hero. He hit a defenceless lady with a hammer. The police were awful. The police have lot to answer for,.What a great lady.

I admire this lady and other ladies who survived these attacks, got to remember he was living his double life and ended the lives of 13 women. There were attacks that were not reported in the media at the time, and this was very annoying. I was also studying at Leeds, and during Sept-Nov 1980 he, attacked 2 women (Mo being one of them) and then killed Jacqueline Hill who was also at Leeds Uni, returning home to the Campus not far from Arndale Centre. I had lived in a bedsit nearby, and when I heard of the attacks, I returned home and travelled to the course. Women during those 5 years were scared, and without being rude, one cannot know or judge without being there and experiencing the fear. Mo survived and became an accomplished Artist and I admire her and the others who carried on with their lives having to weigh this burden. What right did he have to jeopardise the lives of these women, leading a double life and continuing with his own life, as he has done for 40 years at the taxpayer`s expense. Appalling, the survivors/victims famillies deserve compensation from the Government owing to leads that were not taken up to capture this monster (he is no "man"). The Victims RIP

I wonder if Sutcliffe's victims relatives were ever paid compensation for the sheer incompetence of West Yorkshire Police at the time of the horrific murders he carried out? He was interviewed NINE times and the photo fits were dead ringers of him. The families should have been given 1 million pounds each and the senior police officers 'investigating' this case should have been criminally prosecuted for sheer stupidity; and they should have forfeited all pension rights after being sacked.
