    Omgoodness. It's like a miracles. I think of how many things I've knitted with cables and never knew this. Fantastic trick/tip. Thanks a lot.

      I was also so glad when I learned that tip. I also use it with moss/seed stitch, works the same way! So you also knit 🙂

      @@TuulaMaaria Indeed I do knit. My favourite is Aran cabled jerseys or jumpers or cardigans. Love it. I want to make a big afghan but knitted in 'columns' of cables. and then attach the columns to each other to create a 'throw' or afghan. I think it is more manageable to do it in 'columns'. so i don't know the right word. And to then join them. I imagine a natural or brown-ish colour. I think it would look so modern and stylish on a couch. or at the foot end of a bed. xo

    what an amazing trick. I have found I can break up the look of garter by K1 sl1, then the reverse on top of it on the next row. then it doesn't look so "gartery" if desired.

    How many stitches for a scarf please.

    • @TuulaMaaria
      @TuulaMaaria  5 лет назад

      The number of stitches will depend on the yarn you use and how many cables you want on it. Count the stitches for the cables. For example, if you want 3 cables with 8 stitches each. 10 stitches in between them might be a good amount and also 10 stitches on each side before the cables. So that would be 64 stitches. I use a stitch calculation method that can be downloaded free at resources.knit-crochet-blog.com/stitches. Hope this helps!
