If you go back to history and do a research on Judea, Samaria and the adjoining regions (present day Israel and Palestine), there was never a State named Palestine. As per archaeological record, we know there was a kingdom of Judea with Jerusalem as it's capital and a Kingdom of Israel with Samaria as its capital. From historical facts after the Assyrian invasion, these kingdoms came under the rule of Assyrian Empire and then the Babylonian Empire during the Iron Age. After that it was briefly under Persian rule before it came under Greek rule during the time of Alexander the great. After that we have Hasmonean dynasty rule and then came the Roman rule, and the Byzantine rule of Jerusalem. After that the first Muslim Caliphate - the Umayyad dynasty ruled Jerusalem and then came the first crusaders ruling Jerusalem for almost a 100 years. Then we have the Ayyubib Dynasty, the Mamluk dynasty and the Ottoman Empire that ruled Jerusalem. So basically this region was under the control of the Muslim Arabs for almost 13 century from 7th century CE to 20th CE. After the fall of Ottoman Empire in the 1st world war, British Empire became the mandate of this region. In 1917, the Belfour declaration favored the establishment of a Jewish National Homeland in this region looking at the history. In 1947, UN adopted a resolution to create two states- one for the Jewish and one for the Arabs. While Jerusalem will remain a corpus separatum under international control administered by UN. The State of Israel was established on 14th May 1948, one day before the termination of British Mandate over the region. Jerusalem was divided by Armistice line between Israel and Jordan. Most Palestinian Arabs fled from Israel to east Jerusalem which falls under Jordan. In 1967 Israeli - Arab war, Israel captures Jerusalem's Old city and reunites the City. The Palestinian claimed Jerusalem because it is a Holy city for Muslims and it was always under the Muslim control for 13th centuries and the Jewish in the city were considered second class citizens because of the difference in religion. So Muslims population would obviously be more but that doesn't mean it belongs to them. The State of Palestinian was established in 1988. Now the area in Jerusalem which were given for settlement to the Palestinian Arabs who fled Israel before 1967 war are not recognized by the Israeli government. The Israeli government consider this as illegal settlements and evict Palestinian from their homes. This is because Israeli government does not recognized Jordanian authority over Jerusalem and did not accept the Armistice line drawn by the UN. That is why Israel attack Jerusalem in 1967 War to retake what they think is rightfully theirs. I don't find anything wrong with the State of Israel. They are not occupying anyone's territory. In 1947, UN adopted a resolution to create two states- one for the Jewish and one for the Arabs. While Jerusalem will remain a corpus separatum under international control administered by UN.
The State of Israel was established on 14th May 1948, one day before the termination of British Mandate over the region. Jerusalem was divided by Armistice line between Israel and Jordan. Most Palestinian Arabs fled from Israel to east Jerusalem which falls under Jordan.
In 1967 Israeli - Arab war, Israel captures Jerusalem's Old city and reunites the City. The Palestinian claimed Jerusalem because it is a Holy city for Muslims and it was always under the Muslim control for 13th centuries and the Jewish in the city were considered second class citizens because of the difference in religion. So Muslims population would obviously be more but that doesn't mean it belongs to them.
The State of Palestinian was established in 1988.
Now the area in Jerusalem which were given for settlement to the Palestinian Arabs who fled Israel before 1967 war are not recognized by the Israeli government. The Israeli government consider this as illegal settlements and evict Palestinian from their homes. This is because Israeli government does not recognized Jordanian authority over Jerusalem and did not accept the Armistice line drawn by the UN. That is why Israel attack Jerusalem in 1967 War to retake what they think is rightfully theirs.
I don't find anything wrong with the State of Israel. They are not occupying anyone's territory. State of Palestine never existed before the creation of Israel. Israel was there from time immemorial with Jerusalem as it's capital but I never heard of a Kingdom called Palestine with it's capital at Jerusalem.
Israel conquered Jerusalem and decided to make it as it's capital like it was two millennia before. What is wrong in that?

The questions of the news channel anchor is biased. Israel has the right to defend the protection of their citizens . If Hamas is using the civilian location to attack the Israel....it is natural to get a rebuff and damaged. The peace loving people stand with Israel military ...they will have better life ...and the scoundrels of Hamas will stop their militant actions .
Self defense ??? Hamas is only the "perfect excuse". Hamas didn't exist until 1987. Thousands of crimes, massacres and assassinations have been perpetrated by the IDF from 1947 to 1987 WITHOUT HAMAS! They still continue today.

Just a note to Naftali Bennett, a Palestinian nation is an invented nation. There is no such nation. For example, the Arabs of Gaza origin from Egypt and part of Saudi Arabia. The Arabs of Judea and Samaria originate mainly from Jordan
