Smash Mouth is underrated. For one thing, they have always demonstrated an above-average understanding of music theory. Notice the replacement of the minor vi chord with the major VI chord to make the chorus "sweet" in just the right spot. Simple trick, but it makes for a catchy tune.

The various music styles that they mixed together was amazing, and gave each of their songs an identity of its own. I hope they continue making such songs. Especially the ones with Reggae in it.
