    i am pretty confident in english but the "on foot" vs "by foot" thing was new to me, didn't expect that even i can learn something new here

      I’m a native speaker, and I struggled with that one, too. I use both “by” and “on,” but didn’t realise it until this video. I also didn’t realise that “by” is not wholly correct.

    Thanks Lucy for articulating so clearly so that lipreading (for deaf people like me) is done effortlessly. [I went to bed one night in 2022 hearing and woke up the next morning being deaf. In 2012 my tv turned silent. So I began using subtitles and enjoying the many close-ups during interviews and documentations. I needed nine months for learning it. In Germany the BBC stopped being available a short time after that. What a pity. I used to enjoy all the BBC's programmes so much. Let's say I had become addicted to the BBC's content.]

      In German schools you usually learn the means of transportation together as by car/train/bike/foot.
      „on foot“ sounded strange to me😅

    I got 12. I hesitated between on and by
    foot, finally opting for the preposition 'on'. I was pleased to understand where my hesitation came from, thanks to your explanation.

    I especially answered the last question while you were still reading the options.
    The questions about "at length" and "true to" were my favorite ones as it was the first time I came across with them.

    "In south Wales" actually got me 'cuz I used to say at all the time, and also I somehow believed by foot is very common!

    I got 12 out of 12. To be honest, for the last one I needed the answers to get the correct answer and to pause the video. Without the answers I would have been wrong.

    I'm happy. My score was 12/12. The most difficult for me was the 11th. 'In detail' seemed the best option for the first pair, but the 'up with' saved me from choosing the alternative B.

    I got all right except for the 5th question I'm looking forward *to* the weekend. I thought 'for' sits well with 'the weekend' so, 'for the weekend'. And I felt 'by' goes well with 'foot'. Thanks for the quiz teacher Lucy. ❤

    Got them all right although I hesitated on "on foot" vs "by foot". Strangely "by foot" came more naturally to me, even though I chose "on foot" in the end because it felt like the correct answer :) Thank you very much for your lessons, it keeps me on my "English" toes :D

    Got all 12 correct. I really like your lectures and have learnt many new things that helped me improved my grammer. Lucy please share something about using "to" with "ing" form of the verb in sentences. Especially in resume/cv. E.g "I am willing to take on a new challenge" or it should be "willing to taking on a new challenge".

    answered all the questions correctly except last two. you makes me really confused with those tricky question.

    I got ‘by foot’ for the first one which was not correct. I found the advanced ones easier and came up with responses before you giving out the options. Aced the whole quiz apart from the first one. Thank you, Lucy!
