Great looking rotator, you definitely taken care of it being 3 years old. Still look brand new. Also, good job going the extra mile with great customers service
This is exactly the mistake my dad feared with my cousin Ed behind the wheel. My best bet is the trailer was riding on top of the fifth wheel with the pin across preventing the trailer pin from dropping into the fifth wheel. My cousin Ed, whose radio handle is KrazyEddy, had a trailer ride all the way back to my dad’s warehouse on top of the fifth wheel. It was surprising that the trailer didn’t drop off.
DOT will shut you down with non working landing gears. I had a loaded trailer and one side went bad and was just making a 500 mile turn around and shop took the bad one off so I could get the load off and pick up and return. Cop saw I only had one and caught me the first 100 miles.
I had someone spit on my door handle 😂 but he didn’t know I have 360 cameras and when I came out I was with a headset recording 😊. I will upload soon. Be on the lookout you RUclips truckers 😂
He needs to turn in his CDL if he can’t do the job and be safe. Which means get off the drugs!!! He’s fired for even dropping that trailer which makes us all safer!!!
I currently drive for Stevens(6 years next month will be 7) and that guy isn’t going to be fired, he’ll be routed back to Dallas to talk to the Safety Director and have to do retraining for Coupling and Uncoupling. The only way to get fired from Stevens is to Top a Trailer or Truck, get caught doing a U-Turn(or have a run under accident) or have a completely horrific accident that is verifiably the driver’s fault where injury or death is involved. Sucks that someone would pull his fifth wheel like that
That cool drivers who usually have a moment like that become better at inspections.be safer .I been trucking since 1990 and I'm learning new things. and not perfect but follow a routine
I feel sorry for the driver. He appears to be in over his head. Not one time did I see him do a walk around once he was reconnected with his trailer. Don't believe that he had a clue of what happened. I have to share the road with drivers like that.
No need to use angle iron this trailer had round angles already installed on the rail maybe from a previous damage, the straps are fine they are still safe to use. They just have a few battle scars nothing that would worry me to keep me from using them.
This hurt watching this after 40 plus years of trucking I can't believe this is the type of drivers are out there. What ever happened to a simple reverse nudge before taking off if your away from your truck. It's a given people pull pins so take a few seconds to double check and do a nudge test. That would have sucked to make it to the main road and have a trailer fall off and kill someone.
I almost messed up my 5th wheel connection today trying to back under my Trailer, The trailer pin was higher then it was supposed to be and i just about missed it completely. Fortunately I recognized the problem and got out and checked it. Disconnected from the trailer, Lowered it to the correct height and re-connected to the 5th wheel. ALWAYS Trust your inner feelings when connecting or disconnecting from your Trailer and you wont need to call a Wrecker to get you out of a jam like what you're watching here. By the way...... Good job knowing your stuff Towkings
He probably is a somewhat out on his own for first time after leaving trainer truck .like others posted why would someone pull this kinda nonsense on some fellow driver testing the driver anyways no one got hurt live and learn bet a tug test and fifth wheel check will be done always.hopefully the carrier doesn't fire the guy.everyones human .stay safe drivers watch your back
The only reason a trailer drops at a truck stop is because they pissed off another driver and the other driver pulled the pin. Gotta check that kingpin lock every single time you stop. A tug test would have caught the problem.
Hope god continue to bless you big homie salute new sub. Cali love. But this dude don’t need to be driving or have a CDL things happen but he can’t even back up 😂
If the pin was locked when he was backing back under, then nobody pulled it. The driver is just an idiot. Some how it rode 40 miles to the truckstop. If it was open, then yes, someone pulled the pin. I realize this has been edited, but I saw nobody inspect that fifthwheel for damage or proper function before rehooking.
That is a preventable accident. It is his responsibility to physically and visually check the locking jaws and to do a pull test before pulling forward to drive. Very costly accident that will most highly result in being fired. He’s wearing flip flops. So unprofessional.
I’m flatbed /heavy haul and wear steel toes majority of time after I finish unloading or loading I take the boots off and put on flops let my feet air out
God how can you do this to some one working in the same industty by pulling the pin is discraceful but it takes all kinds of people and yrt you work along side of them doing the same work. Sick in the head just a shame he did not not do his pre check he would have noticed it even for a toilet break .
Lot of jealous assholes out there. They don’t have a life so they do shit like this for shits and giggles at someone else expense. People are out there day in and day out trying to earn money to support them self and their families and this is what they get in return. And of course nobody saw anything.
That trailer is going to be passed off to another driver and he is going to be back at the terminal on a safety hold/ back to the training yard before they release him again
Yep, coming out of a truck stop always check your connection with a "tug"! Good job calming him down by the way .. Hey after completing watching the video, wouldn't the fifth wheel jaws have been open if somebody had pulled it. I've actually seen where somebody humped the pin (hooked up with the trailer to high), and drove that way for a while then noticed it. Pulled over and re-hooked, I'm not even kidding. Also I 'liked the video' and subscribed, thanks for sharing! That also looks like the truck stop in Ontario, Miliken & the I-10 freeway ..
pick it up, hook up the truck.. cage the brakes.. f go to the shop or park the truck & trailer.. replace the lines continue the trip a little bit smarter
This is why I always did a tug test everytime I was away from truck. 1 driver is having a great laugh right. He's the one that sending video to bonehead truckers. Always tug test drivers
YEA THATS TRUE BUT WHO CHECK THAT SO OFTEN I TOOK MY TEST LAST THING HE TOLD ME WAS CHECK EVERTTHING BEFORE YOU PULL OFF BECAUSE PEOPLE DO STUFF LIKE THAT WITH TANDEMS ALSO
You don't need a daily messages when you have to do pre-trip every morning before you start driving. you have to do a couple of pull-ups with the brakes on the trailer just to make sure that the trailer is still hooked to do the tractor
Driver failed to do a proper pre-trip especially after being park in a truck stop. It’s not always an instant fire, depends on how long he’s been there and his history with the company
Why? Because some asshole pulled his pin? It’s Monday morning quarter backs like you that keep this industry like shit!!! Know your role and Stay in your lane!
@@ChrisL-oz4lphe’ll be rerouted back to Dallas and they’ll claim the load on their insurance if the load is fked and the trailer will go into the shop and be completely repaired. now that's an AMAZING WRECKER ONE LUCKY OPERATOR
Ty
That lad didn't even know what the landing gear was on the trailer I would not like to be on the roads with these people😂😂😂😂😂😂
Good Job done.... how much costs such an "rescue"?
The truck stop should have video cameras. That driver is scared he'll lose his job.
You want him to move faster lol the driver is shocked 😳 😂
Yea he definitely pissed somebody off lol
Wicked come on now driver!!!
pulling the pin on another driver is so low and chicken SHIT MOVE

It's still the driver's fault. Anytime, I leave my truck at a truck stop. Before I
Leave I walk it and check it.

You also forgot that they gonna charge it back to him drove with stevens from 2012 until last year
Reading through these comments made me realize 90% of you are super truckers.
I think all commercial truck drivers need to take a IQ test and anything below 100 should disqualify them from driving a semi truck
I myself set trailer brakes and add tension to the fifth wheel so it doesn't get pulled and inspection on equipment and tug test you know the drills
I feel sorry for the driver. He appears to be in over his head. Not one time did I see him do a walk around once he was reconnected with his trailer. Don't believe that he had a clue of what happened. I have to share the road with drivers like that.
He must have missed that day in training, ALWAYS check your King Pin after leaving your truck alone!!
Don't you use angle iron or old mud flaps on the trailer edges-just to protect everything? Those straps already frayed....
No need to use angle iron this trailer had round angles already installed on the rail maybe from a previous damage, the straps are fine they are still safe to use. They just have a few battle scars nothing that would worry me to keep me from using them.

That driver is definitely tweaked tf out 😅
Of course he is because first thing is he embarrassed and wondering what his carrier gonna do.
Drug test time. If he's on the weed he better drop it at the yard and quit asap before he gets a positive or refusal.
Hope god continue to bless you big homie salute new sub. Cali love
There is always a few sh*t people out there will pull out your king pin so always check your king pin after you go inside the store after you fuel.

Everyone at truck stop kept saying same thing, tug test is important every time truck is left unattended.
I learned yrs ago in 06 my trainer sail always look and back up and tug test just to make sure just incase they pull your pin
The only reason a trailer drops at a truck stop is because they pissed off another driver and the other driver pulled the pin. Gotta check that kingpin lock every single time you stop. A tug test would have caught the problem.
Somebody pulled it either ex employee or he was sitting to long . He might’ve high pinned it to. The peterbilt driver slow too
He didn’t pre trip 😢

It’s possible but if he high hooked it, wouldn’t it have jumped out of the fifth wheel as he traveled the 40 miles to get to the truck stop?
