Huh, that's cool. Even after taking art classes, line weight still is something that goes over my head. I used to draw 3d shapes while taking notes in school, but now I'll change them a bit by adding different line weight. Thanks for the tip!
Definitely try it! It's really simple and benefits are overwhelming - almost everything you draw now has depth and looking cool :) Wish you a great success in art!
I like this trick. The "T" trick in drawing perspective foreshortening. I remember seeing it somewhere else but that was a long time ago. I’m happy to get the refresher here. Thank you.
One tip that I got from pixel art (that to be fair, I don't know if it translates well here), is that the outside outline should be darker than the overlapping outlines, to separate shapes from the same objects from the background ones.
I don't agree with the advice to never use straight lines. They're incredibly useful, especially if you're cartooning or drawing comic books, which is a more exaggerated reality, but even if realism is your goal, sneaking a straight line in there can really punch it up.
Yes, if you want to draw more stylized anatomy (for cartoons, comics), you can use straight lines. Also it's useful for a blockout with basic shapes like boxes. But in this video I cover standart anatomy as it is in academic drawing. Once you'll get comfortable with basic stuff, you can go all-in with stylization as deep as you want
Basically, it's just a different line weight, and on 3:17 I'm using it to show the aerial perspective. So the hand seems much closer to us than the body :)
I feel it's important to mention that Willy was dating Bec (Blade's ex who he's obsessed with). While it's likely Blade wouldn't have cared if someone else with little relation died around him, it feels like he cared even less about Willy's wellbeing because of this.
no offense, but NEVER using straight lines for anatomy can be a really harmful tip, especially for beginners and those still learning anatomy. preferring to not use straight lines is purely a stylistic choice. of course, anatomy isn't straight in real life but this isn't real life. even in less stylized artwork, straights and curves are crucial when making things look balanced and interesting. straight lines look good and are our friends.

This is impossible to use any line weight tips without the knowledge of basic perspective. You're right, to draw anatomy we need to know the foundations :)
i have a problem that when i draw muscles my characters look like they dont have any skin how can i fix taht does anyone have any videos that teach this

The man discovered basic line weight like it's some kind of lifehack. I expected something more helpful or new, not going to lie. 😅

Look up the Bargue figure drawing plates.
3:17 What are these thick outlines called, Sir?

I think it can or should be mentioned that straight lines should be used for guidelines
Of course! You're totally right :)
