I thought top 10 overtakes of the season should be Kimi's first lap in Portimao
first lap passes usually dont count as top overtakes...since almost everytime its a mess in the first corners

They decided to show his overtake at RB Ring but his pass on Latifi at the outside of Pouhon in SPA was more impressive.

F1 is an english sport, no way... (Edit: and yeah, what's so amaising in some overtakes shown when one guy has fresh tyres and the other one old tyres... Russell/Bottas or Alboff/Ricciardo are some of these)

George are just much more iconic imo, we've seen many other Eau Rouge overtake already, doesn't make Pierre move less impressive though.

Sainz did the exact same thing as Russell in Sakhir, so I don’t know why he’s not on this list. And I also think that Gasly’s overtake in Spa was better.

Yeah, for example I liked Russells overtake on Bottas but I wouldn't put it nowhere near number 1. The tyre advantage was massive for Russell.

The Leclerc overtake was better than powering past two cars. That had me on my feet applauding the move.
Gasly on perez wins by a mile huge nuts by pierre as checo squeezes him also at the same track we lost hubert.
Gasly and Kvyat should've had first and second with their moves. Unfortunately, these rankings were put down to a Twitter vote so the fanboys voted Russel

Kimi has a very underrated talent, he always leaves just enough space and watching him race is a sight for sore eyes
Underrated because he underperformes he needs get out of f1 and make room for albon

@@ebs1895 everyone knows the redbull was a difficult car to drive last season and Albon didnt have the same spec parts for most of the season. Look at Perez in Bahrain. He missed out on Q3 did a bunch of overtakes in THE fastest car and everyone gave him nothing but praise. The bias is mind blowing

Albon's strongest point is his skill of overtaking. He might not have performed well in 2020 season but whenever he overtook someone, it was a beautiful one.

Kvyat's move was not special. He had great slipstream & went down the inside late braking. Nothing special.

As someone who was at the Eifel Gp, I will tell you, Daniel vs Charles was fabulous! Dan set that one up for about 5 laps, teasing us fans bit by bit each lap, and when he finally got it done it was a stunning pass which left the crowd cheering & hollering with delight! Definitely one of my standout moves of the season!

George at number 1 is a joke. 37 lap newer, softer compound tires with his fellow driver making a mistake, easy overtake.
Definitely had a speed advantage but that was far from easy easy overtakes are rarely in the corners

totally agree. Saw several similar overtakes in that race with less tyre advantage. Half the list is a joke imo. Like Leclerc vs Alfas was ok but there was literally nothing Kimi could do to stop it. Literally nothing. 1 of those 2 passes was for free. And actually passing Gio was for free as well because he didn't even try to defend. How that's top 10 I'll never know.

Gasly on Perez through Eau Rouge was the pass of the year! Simply Gasly!!!
I have to admit, it was a great overtake by Pierre, but once you look a little deeper you see why Georges overtake won him overtake of the year, Pierres actual overtake was better, but here is a list of reasons why Georges was logically better:
1. Went from the slowest car to the fastest car, takes a lot of getting used to
2. Bottas had been at Merc for 4 years, George was making his debut at the team
3. Bottas is way more experienced than George
4. He had the pace to make the overtake, it wasn't just a lucky around the outside move, he caught Bottas (yes I know he had a tyre advantage) and made it stick around the outside.
Ah yes number 4 is my favourite. To remember the torpedo who made daring moves on the f1 drivers

Yes, it was a popularity contest but Kvyat's overtake wasn't the best at all. Overtaking on the straight is not difficult at all. He just zoomed past them because he had a better exit from Rivazza 2 as they restarted the race.

Feel sad for Alex: he has some of the best overtakes this year but he hasn’t no seat
but the overtakes are against Renaults and Alfa’s. He should be fighting the Mercs and Verstappen

This is an absolute joke. Russel had 20 lap fresher medium tires while Bottas was on hards and that is the number one overtake of the season? Also Sainz did almost the same thing and isn't even in the Top 10? What is this bias?

He’s a rookie and it’s the first time he’s tried out for a Mercedes
By far the greatest overtake was Kvyat vs Albon and Perez.
The guts to make such a move, the fact that he overtook 2 cars which happened to be 2nd and 3rd fastest (in a Toro Rosso) without DRS help in such fashion is greater in any way than any other overtake in this top

Not even top 10 worthy. Overtaking a guy with 40-lap-old cold hards that made a mistake when you have brand new mediums shouldn't ever be considered a top 10 overtake.

@@mr.unknown9264 I don't think so. They mean lap 27 after VER pitstop. After that VER has overtaken BOT round the outside at Luffield. BOT was nowhere in the gravel, but pushed as hard he could, but never stood a chance against VER.

Perez is more experienced in setup, tyre management and has proven himself worthy this season. Together with Max, Red Bull can fight for the constructors title. They can directly fight Bottas and play strategy games against Lewis.

The fact that 90% of those overtakes were done for positions outside of the podium (and about 50% out of the points, for that matter) shows just how f1 races are being won these days.
If you got the right car, winning is just a formality
Some overtakes are practically for the podium. Hamilton at Monza had a penalty so Leclerc's P4 was a podium place. Bottas had an engine failure at Eifel so Daniel's P4 was a podium.
Half of the cars are outside the points anyway so that is also not a surprise.
We'll miss Mr. Round the Outside... :(
