    I've learnt that the way to accomplish things when you work on your own (as I do here) is to male a small list each day (even simple small tasks). You may not get all of it done, but it gives you a sense of achievement each time you put a line through a task, The other thing is to stand back every now and then and look at what you have done, rather than always looking at what needs to be done, Cheers

    You are making a lovely paradise Harriet!
    The little balls on the dead tree are where the flowers were. It was a bottle brush. 🙂 Keep in touch with local arborists and let them know they can drop off loads at yours. Sometimes its easier and cheaper for them. Nettles make a great fertiliser. Tofu's help made me laugh 😂 your pond is beautiful ❤ if the funny peas are unpalatable they'll still be great nitrogen fixers for whatever you plant next. They'll be great in compost too. Great video 💚

    Hi Harriet. In Spain the climate is good for the growth of trees and other vegetables. The customs in the mountain villages that have neighboring forests are the "Lucks", which are raffles of wooded areas to prune. Normally there are some norms of diameter of branches that can be cut or cannot be cut. If this is the case, find out at the town hall. If it finds out whether the trees of the stream below your farm are of the people and if they can be pruned for firewood, respecting the rules of diameter branches, and you will have an extra free firewood pay only your effort to prune and take.

    Aww it all looks lovely Harriet. I love the pond, it looks like the one my daughter and I built during the first lockdown. I like to grow all our veg and flowers from seed and it keeps me fit working on our allotment at the back of our farmhouse. Your garden is all looking gorgeous. By the way I asked my daughter about the rare chickens and she started by getting the heritage breeds by buying eggs online and hatching them in the incubator. Better than chickens having to travel miles and miles. We live in a remote area and didn't fancy those poor chickens having to travel either. Its definitely worth getting some nice breeds. Good luck with it all, I love following you.

    I can definitely sympathize about the challenges of keeping up with your seeds! Thanks very much for sharing your sources. Too bad Real Seeds doesn’t ship to Europe any more, but I saw that they have links to several new-to-me European seed companies on their site, so happy browsing ahead. You might like Magic Garden Seeds in Germany; they’ve got a wide variety, including a lot that I haven’t seen in Spain, and my success rates with them have been quite good.

    I know this is an older one but I've been getting through all your old videos.... It's kind of a shame that you chopped down the Callistemon/bottle brush tree.... For a less well known Australian native to be there like that it must have had some story behind it, maybe a relative moved to Australia or something. I know it was old/sick, but you could have started some from those many seed pods. I just like continuing that personal history of places, and they are so beautiful in flower!

    • @LittleSpanishFarmstead
      @LittleSpanishFarmstead  2 года назад

      Yeah, it's always a shame to cut down a tree :( The previous owner, before he died, apparently took a lot of care of the garden and we've found some interesting species here mixed among all the undergrowth. As it happens the bottle brush tree is very common here in public parks and gardens so I could probably find another one easily to plant!

      Podes poner el traductor a español en la ruedita de la pantalla

    • @raulruizramirez3590

      Si pulsas la rueda estrellada se abre el traductor y puedes elegir el español, siempre los deja traducidos
