The deep shelves on the side that you commented had gravel in it, would have likely been filled with coarse sand and warming cables used as heated propagating beds. My grandad had the same arrangement in his greenhouse from the 50s. They were set to a thermostat on the wall. 🌱
A BIG thank you to all of you at C House for taking us along on your beautiful journey and family fun. I truly appreciate the tidbits you all share. Bless your souls for all the things you have going at one time. Restoring this old greenhouse is going to be a GIANT process, but will be so stunning, gorgeous and rewarding in the end. You are also finding so many things you are able to recycle and reuse today. What a BIG cost savings that will be. I wish you all the best along this endeavor. I hope you feel better soon too.
Love this project! Nothing better than a greenhouse and this one has so much character!! I finally have a greenhouse and there is nothing more satisfying and calming! Cant wait to see the progress!!
Love this. I'm going to build a greenhouse this spring. I'm using old windows and may get some ideas from your old greenhouse. I'm already going steal the idea of the old brackets for the shelves. This is going to be fun to watch.
The tray against the window was used as a humidifier. Lined with plastic, an inch of gravel, fill to top of the rocks, and the sun. You set your potted plants that needed a little more humidity were placed there.
First time watching, would love a greenhouse like that. And I would rather have something old to redo than anything new. My husband framed off a section of our back porch, put up marine grade clear plastic , shelves and a table… instant greenhouse that works really well. I am loving it even if it is small. Can’t wait to see the finished project ❤
What could be more satisfying than bringing a greenhouse back to life especially one that’s filled with wonderful memories! Great videography and editing too! ❤
Its been a fun project for sure and having my kids with me and hubby has just been the best. Brayden does all the editing and just does a fantastic job.
I would give anything for a greenhouse and have wanted one since I was twenty years old, and I now am 68 years old. I would love watching you fix up the greenhouse. Hope you feel better.
Hello Donna, I to would love to get my greenhouse built this year. My sister gave me about 10 plus new in the box replacement windows that were made incorrect for their home TWICE! I retired last October, and now is the time to get it built!! Best wishes for you in getting a greenhouse of your own.
So inspiring! I moved to a new home 5 months ago and left my greenhouse. I'm planning for a new one,but really want an old one. I'm loving this project. The atmosphere, the vibe, the romance....I want this! Thank you for sharing.
Ahh, so kind of you to say, we do love a cozy vibe. I'm sure you will get the greenhouse of your dreams in time and it will be just perfect. Thanks for tagging along.
You have certainly had a lot of rain! Nice greenhouse. Maybe replacing roof with polycarbonate glass might be good. It will be nice to get it up and running again. Well done. Soup looks good Jason!
Oh Beth I know how you feel, Ive had a sinus and ear infection which just makes you feel horrible. Right on top of Christmas and a heat wave here….until today. Im watching your video and its just on midnight “Happy New Year” and after 3 months of no rain today it has been overcast and has finally been raining for the last 5 hours lightly, our flowers and vegetables have so desperately needed some rain. I can hear the fire works coming from in town as I write this and my hope for 2025 is a bountiful garden full of bigger blooms. So many things to do for the rest of summer here, some sales would help us to get further into our journey. We are currently renovating a little tiny house cottage on our property to hopefully open before the end of January for farm stays here with us. Today Ive planted out my 3rd succession of zinnias including more floret, Ive also had some of my mandarin cosmos form seed so Ive sprinkled some into trays in the high tunnel and see if they germinate, not suitable for the cutting garden but will make beautiful pops of vibrant colour in our parking area out the front of the strawberry and flower farm. I am going to love watching you transform your 1950’s little greenhouse shed, Ive just finished watching your video on wrapping market bouquets again to improve my technique for our farm stand, bouquet bars and possibly markets on a Sunday until the end of April when everything here will start going to sleep for the autumn and winter. It’s time for me to climb into bed. I hope you feel better soon. Cheers Theresa - Australia
Happy New Year my friend, I do hope the rain stayed for some time. Keep at the sales, they always come in waves I find. Good luck with the garden and the cottage, I'm sure its stunning!
Beth you and your family have been really very busy these past many months. All of you keep yourselves healthy. I will say that this project with the greenhouse has me so excited. I can see the possibilities of this space. I honestly can say I wish I was closer to you as I would be volunteering myself to give you a had! lol! Believe it or not but you are really blessed to have all these buildings here or there that have so much potential. Yesterday here in NE Indiana was beautiful. It was sunny and in the 50's and I was out until it got dark. My body definitely felt the joy, lol! Today it's in the 50's but it is windy and rainy, but that too is nice. Take care of yourself and have a wonderful week, Btw how did Braedon's ducks do with the transition to a different space?
happy New Year Debra! yes we have been very busy and life is very full. I am exited about this project and others we have planned for this year. Brayden is learning more about garden and wants to do a few projects on his own, so it should be an exiting year here on the channel. all the best to you my friend!
Old 100 watt light bulbs would have generated just a bit of heat. Years ago, we used to leave one on in our old laundry room when temperatures dropped.
First time watcher, I've subbed and think this is an awesome winter project and think it will be an amazing space to grow starts in. I love the idea of planting a citrus tree in the ground.... Is that a Garden Answer kneeling g pad? I would love one but living in sub tropical Australia the postage would probably be about $80 and let's not discuss the exchange rates.... lol
Well welcome! We love our Australia folks that tag along with us each week. We have a video a few years back when Riley went and did a few events/ wedding there with Emma her cousin. Such beautiful country, some day Ill go as well. Yes its a Garden Answer pad, and yes shipping would probably be outrageous for you!
This is a project and I would love to dig in and help you as I love gardening projects. I did notice you had a Garden Answer kneeling pad in the color red. I purchased a few this year for gifts and me. I have a glass greenhouse only 6X10 and right now it has bubble wrap inside for heat. Although glass looks great it’s not the best for our PNW weather. We live in Puyallup, where are you guys?
This has been such a fun project and yes don't you just love the Garden Answer kneeling pad! Bubble wrap works great, I've used that before as well. The Orchard Hight's project house is in west Salem and our Crowley House is outside Rickreall.
The Secret Garden was my all time fav book as a kid.
How could such a beautiful treasure be abandoned and neglected for so long ???
That’s my lifelong dream ❤
Oh and that All American canner ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love the music too, it reminds me of listening to Jim Brickman CDs
Your greenhouse has a lot of potential. It will be a lot of work but could be so awesome.
I agree! We're excited to see how it turns out.
I see Laura's kneeling pad over your shoulder! I have the same one, it's adorable and works great. Awesome project, looks so much fun!
It's been a blast getting started on this project!
First timer to your channel. I see you have a Garden Answer kneeling pad. Enjoyed the video.
I’m excited to see the progress on the green house as you clean and refurbish it to it new happy place!!
What a big project! But, it's going to be one of those very satisfying "works in progress". I can't wait to see this jewel come back to life!
Agree ❤😂
Its a big undertaking but a fun one!
Oh I can't wait to follow along and see what you do. Such a fun space.
Right ❤❤❤ I love a good DIY 😅
The deep shelves on the side that you commented had gravel in it, would have likely been filled with coarse sand and warming cables used as heated propagating beds. My grandad had the same arrangement in his greenhouse from the 50s. They were set to a thermostat on the wall. 🌱
Interesting! It’s so cool to learn about how things were done in the past!
It's going to be quite a journey, we're looking forward to the transformation!
Love this project! Nothing better than a greenhouse and this one has so much character!! I finally have a greenhouse and there is nothing more satisfying and calming! Cant wait to see the progress!!
Its a work of love but it will be so rewording to get it back into shape.
❤So excited to see what you will do! Love these kind of videos! I will be watching!❤
I'm happy you are on this journey with us.
Love the greenhouse! What a find! 😊
It truly is.
Awesome 1950's greenhouse!!! I wish it was on my property.
😂😂😂😂 😂❤
First time watching, while I appreciate the chat, love watching the “doing”
Love this. I'm going to build a greenhouse this spring. I'm using old windows and may get some ideas from your old greenhouse. I'm already going steal the idea of the old brackets for the shelves. This is going to be fun to watch.
Oh, ya! Please steal the bracket idea, I'm sure its going to be lovely when all done. Thanks for tagging along.
The tray against the window was used as a humidifier. Lined with plastic, an inch of gravel, fill to top of the rocks, and the sun. You set your potted plants that needed a little more humidity were placed there.
I'm looking forward to seeing the greenhouse restored to is former glory. What a treasure.
Its slow going but I think by summer it will be up and going! Fingers crossed.
Great old greenhouse you know it was once used and loved cant wait to see it finished.
Yes, I can feel it was at one point someone's treasure and joy.
I'm looking forward to seeing it restored. How exciting!
I would love to do a project like that, and to have a greenhouse ....maybe someday.
You never know! ❤
First time watching, would love a greenhouse like that. And I would rather have something old to redo than anything new. I’m so glad you found us, and I bet your little greenhouse is just lovely!
What could be more satisfying than bringing a greenhouse back to life especially one that’s filled with wonderful memories! Great videography and editing too! ❤
Its been a fun project for sure and having my kids with me and hubby has just been the best. Brayden does all the editing and just does a fantastic job.
What a sweet greenhouse, am jealous 🤩 cant wait to see what you do to it
Thanks so much, it was a bit of a mess! We're going to have so much fun with it.
You made amazing progress! Great job! Can’t wait to see more! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for tagging along with us!
It's a beautiful very spacious greenhouse. Nice that you're renovating it 🌝👍
Thanks! 😊
This really grabbed my attention when you said “1951!”. My birth year. Looking forward to next week. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm so glad you are along for the ride!
As usual, another lovely video, I particularly enjoyed the music. Thank you
We’re so glad you enjoyed it! You can thank Brayden for the music, he is always looking for new things and does all the editing.
Absolutely enjoyed the video! I love the project you are taking on. Alot to do. Can't wait to see the results! I love projects!
Thanks for hanging out with us!
What an exciting project!! I can't wait to see the progress you and your fabulous son get up to.😊
He is the best and so fun to work with.
Good luck with your clean up. I would love a green house. First time watching your videos.
Well welcome! Greenhouses are so fun to work in but they do come with a learning curve but worth the work.
I would give anything for a greenhouse and have wanted one since I was twenty years old, and I now am 68 years old. I would love watching you fix up the greenhouse. Hope you feel better.

I'm so happy you can join us as we venture along this restoration project! I'm much better, thank you!
It's a Big project, but I see some really cool treasures in there too! Bless you!
Yes, there is a ton of cool things. I still need to go through it all and make heads and tails of it.
So inspiring! I moved to a new home 5 months ago and left my greenhouse. I'm planning for a new one,but really want an old one. I'm loving this project. The atmosphere, the vibe, the romance....I want this! Thank you for sharing.

Great family project! Great progress! Happy New Year!
Thanks for watching, we are excited about this project!
What a magical space! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
I think in the end it will be such a sweet little greenhouse.
You have certainly had a lot of rain! Nice greenhouse. Maybe replacing roof with polycarbonate glass might be good. It will be nice to get it up and running again. Well done. Soup looks good Jason!
It’s been a soggy season for sure! My husband Jason said the same thing, he thinks the polycarbonate would be perfect!
What a worthy project.
❤🌷🌻😀
Happy new year!😊 hugs ❤️ love❤. Subscribed!😊❤😊
Happy New Year to you too! We are so glad you found us!
So nice❤
Interesting project, nice to see family working together! Not a fan of the likes though.
It really is a family affair around here!
That was fun! Elbow grease will do the job. Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for tagging along with us.

Yes they did provide quite a bit of heat. I do miss the incandescent bulbs.
Ahh good to know! Thanks.

It sure does look like a Garden Answer kneeling pad. I've got one in pink. From Georgia, USA
