LOVELY video. I made this pot holder in one day and it will make a great present for a friend. I struggled to grasp the joining together of the ribbon part so in the end i ditched the stitch markers, put a stitch through the two ends of the ribbon and done the single crochet around the outside. Looks exactly the same and was much easier for a beginner like me. Love the pattern, Thanks for sharing.

I'm making different colored ribbons, not just for cancer, but also for other conditions. Light blue for Selective Mutism Awareness, blue and pink for Pregnancy and Child Loss Awareness and bright green for Mental Illness Awareness.
These represent people near and dear to me, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to raise awareness by teaching us how to make these ribbons :)

Really liked how you explained why the stitch markers were being used and gave little previews of what was coming next. Now that those angels of yours are getting older we might see more? Thank you for this video! I've been trying to make that potholder pattern (I had previously run into a similar pattern used as a base on a tote bag), and kept messing up the ends, ending up with a lopsided "pouch". Your video finally enabled me to understand how to work those corners/ends. I also like the tip about the upside-down V's -- another tip I'll take along with me on this and other projects. Again: Thank you so much!

Luckily with the potholder, it is double thickness so you won't see any ends on "the back side" no matter how you choose to join the yarn (they'll be inside the potholder). Normally I start a single crochet stitch (hook into the stitch, draw up a loop) but instead of yarn-over with the old yarn and pulling through, I grab the tail end of the new yarn, form it into a loop, and grab that loop and pull it through to complete my single crochet. Think I need to do a video on joining yarns :)
