Been trying to put my friends in South Africa and my Twitter mutuals onto these guys’ music. They still ain’t listening. I hope one day this band will get the recognition it deserves. Much love from Johannesburg, SA.
One of the best musical storytellers around. Doesn't even need to say a word to tell it either. Which is good, cuz I don't understand what he's saying.
Constable 1976 there’s a whole bunch of guys from his city in Niger that have this style. They’re a whole genre within themselves. They absolutely shred

#adultswim: I just watched them on FishCenter. They were surprisingly pretty damn good! Loved their style, a lot. Also enjoyed their “interview”, and they also had them play a “game” I guess you could call it that, haha. They were probably like what in the actual hell is this, lmaooo. I’m happy that FishCenter does stuff like this. Such a unique show, and band within itself. Now that I think about it, I wish FishCenter was on back in the OG adultswim days. I can only imagine what awesome bands they would of had on here. #MDOUMoctar
Right! A tall Bedouin guy from the Sahara plays a Stratocaster like no one did it before. And no picks! Herman Li, Jimmy Hendrix, Van Halen, and almost all other big shot guitarists can learn from this guy! And never plays this song the same way as before many times played! So, what his secret? Determination, poor living conditions,or just simple discipline?
Mikey, the bassist, is my brother. Before joining the band, he was playing in a DC-based Malian band for many years, so he developed a really good ear for West African music. How he got into the band was he offered to host them when they were on tour in the US. He was already a fan of Mdou's music, and learned some of his songs before that. They jammed and invited him to play a couple of shows. Then Mdou asked him to be his full time bassist. He then went to Agadez to really learn how to nail the Tuareg rock sound.
@@juliustheillustrious7727 He’s not Berber. Apparently, he used to play in a DC based Malian band. He was already a fan of Mdou when he was invited to join his band.
Remember the reaction of the crowd in back to the future and what Marty mcfly says. He was talking about this.
Mdou out here like a Tuareg Hendrix.
Ibrahim Toumass
I see Han Tyumi
@@fatha2092 of course king gizzard fans are out here listening to Saharan blues haha
He watched videos of Jimi Hendrix for inspiration as he was learning to play guitar!
Is it my imagination, or does the beat keep getting faster through the song? Mdou is amazing.
yes it does
@@wikittywhacktv later in the song he gives a hand signal to the rest of the band to slow down where there comes a slower instrumental passage
This is the single best performance I have seen of this particular song, well done

Shredding in sandals should be the new standard.
thank you mdou, loved visiting your planet. you are definitely from a higher place
I saw this dude live he's brilliant!
THEY are brilliant. People need to giving all the credit to the front man.
I did too! They opened for Parquet Courts in Chicago 2022
He must have one happy lady at home lol
This band is so goddamn underrated just put them on with Coheed after the pandemic.
This rocks like Bombino and Tinariwen.
These guys did an amazing KEXP session if you haven't seen.
Much better, he is the one and only left handed finger style guitar virtuoso in this area, maybe even on the planet ✌️😎
@@Comrade.Question the mixing on the KEXP set was orgasmic to say the least
Mdou tunes G-A#-D-G-B-e, lot of North Africa guitars go G-A-D-G-B-e but he likes that extra half step on the 5th string.
Niger is West Africa bro
The gentleman can play..
No kidding, I like his finger style, I could never play like that, I need a pick to be "decent".

Best modern Touareg Rock band, brilliant Mdou👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋
Adult Swim? Wow... I’m impressed, but then again, they always have been raw.

Awesome sound and interesting technique. Dive bombs with no whammy bar! I'm sure Leo Fender would love to hear this.

Did anyone call the actual phone number? Its someone's personal phone number...
Seriously....hehe. I think that it will be turned off soon until AS fix it. I didn't call because I am in Australia and my phone is upside down.
