Thanks for covering Joan's story. Joan was my classmate and in my Brownie troupe. You gave a very accurate description of what occurred. Our town pulled together in an unbelievable effort. To answer your question regarding McGowan's alibi he claimed he was out shopping. McGowan's grandmother was home at the time of Joan's assault and murder, the grandmother was extremely hard if hearing and did not hear anything. Rosemarie's dedication to put a variety of legislation in place has been unwavering. Her work became the building blocks for many laws.

May God bless Rosemarie D’Alessandro and her family-thanking them for all they did to help keep other children safe.

When a child has only been missing for a short time, a person saying 'I have no idea what happened to her' is acknowledging something happened. An expected response is attempting to reassure, comfort or offer help - not usher the worried mother out your door whilst claiming you don't know 'what happened'.
Yeah, because assisting in these kinds of cases REALLY worked for David Camm, Ray McCann Jr., and the MANY other people who were ILLEGALLY/UNLAWFULLY imprisoned for crimes that they not only had NOT committed, but were ONLY targeted as suspects by the cops - and subsequently their respective towns - BECAUSE they tried HELPING find them! If a kid ever went missing around my neck of the woods and the cops or anyone else came to my door asking questions, "I have NO idea what happened to that kid!" would be EXACTLY what I'd say and that's it. You've already concocted this ridiculously STUPID theory of how someone literally denying knowledge and/or participation in something is tantamount to an AUTOMATIC & irrefutable CONFESSION, so yeah... I WOULDN'T even wish them "Good Luck" or any other reassurance or condolence because who knows how what kind of sick PERVERSION you and other similarly moronic thinkers could spin that into. "She TAUNTED me that I'd NEVER find my baby, your honor!" 💯💯🙄🙄🤦♀️🤦♀️🖕🏻🤣😂🤣

Have you ever heard of Joan's law? I've lived in NJ my entire life, and have never heard of this. Especially that if you murder and r*pe someone under 18 (which was 14) you are never eligible for parole? I feel like that can't be realistic! We have heard of so many horror cases where the murderer practically gets away, or gets off too easily, despite committing horrible crimes. I can't think ofspecifically in NJ. This is absolutely amazing if true. I'm just very surprised that a strict law has been in place since the early 90's and I've had no idea

I’d love to see you do some videos on parole and its effects on victims and their families as well as the statistics on repeat offending. You could cover some of the recent cases in Melbourne Australia where young women with bright futures had their lives taken by men on parole with long histories of violent offences who should never have been let back on the streets. Jill Meagher, Eurydice Dickson and Aiia Maasarwe would be excellent cases for you to cover.

I like to think, little Joan would get a major kick out of the silly kitty. Her whole end of life is heartbreaking- however up until that moment she seemed like a bubbly, happy, confident, and much loved child. 😢💔
My God, this is an absolute horror. I am so terribly sorry for Joan's family and I really respect her Mom for working so hard to keep other kids safer. These "people " who victimize kids the way Joan was victimized should NEVER get out. EVER. Whether they have remorse or they behave in prison or whatever. It is too dangerous. RIP, Joan. So sad.
If "I dont know what happened to her" was an exact quote, my suspicions would have been raised immediately! Such a weird response when asking WHERE someone is, or 'Have you seen (person)'.
That’s great that Rosemarie fought hard for Joan’s law so that no family has to keep fighting for their loved one to keep some sicko behind bars forever.
Hearing what Rose-Marie and the rest of Joan’s family has done in her honor to help others really makes my heart swell. It’s awful what Joan, her family, and the community had to go through but I’m happy they’re able to rise above and make change.

What a sweet, lovely, well-rounded little angel Joan was during the short time she had. She sounds like she was already taking after her beautiful, courageous mother. I could tell from the story & photos that her mom was an amazing woman and that she doted on her precious little girl. I am so sad that she never got to grow up and experience so many parts of life that we all take for granted. I am the youngest of 5 siblings born in the 60s. I have 2 sisters & 2 brothers. We were born in: 64, 66, 67, 68, & 69. Joan was born in 65, and she looks a lot like my oldest sister, who was born in 64. We all used to go around our neighborhood alone. We did paper routes, sold cookies, and sold raffle tickets, we had to ring the bell & go inside many homes to collect for the newspaper. Now, when I think about this case, I remember thinking that some people were weird or just had blah personalities, but WE WERE SO VERY LUCKY that nothing like this ever happened. When I had my children in the 90s, I was very overprotective bcuz I followed different cases by reading or watching TV programs. Now it's all online, but things have always happened. It just wasn't as easy to get the information out back then. This story is heartbreaking. Ty for getting the information out to everyone so that we can try to help in some way. I hope that Joan can RIP 🙏 & that she can see just how much he mommy loves her forever. 💞💜💕🩵💞💚💕🩷💞❤💕💛💞

"She TAUNTED me that I'd NEVER find my baby, your honor!" 💯💯🙄🙄🤦♀️🤦♀️🖕🏻🤣😂🤣
I was in first grade when this happened. We lived in Westwood, a neighboring town. I still remember the fear, sadness and confusion we felt all these decades later.
Thank you sooo much for covering Joan’s story. I grew up in Hillsdale and my mom told me Joan’s story when I was growing up and became a Girl Scout. I met Rosemarie when I was in my 20s. she’s such a wonderful strong woman ♥️
Thank for sharing and you your kind comment
Have you ever heard of Joan's law? I've lived in NJ my entire life, and have never heard of this. Especially that if you murder and r*pe someone under 18 (which was 14) you are never eligible for parole? I feel like that can't be realistic! We have heard of so many horror cases where the murderer practically gets away, or gets off too easily, despite committing horrible crimes. I can't think ofspecifically in NJ.
This is absolutely amazing if true. I'm just very surprised that a strict law has been in place since the early 90's and I've had no idea
@@jess_jeff7549 yes. Because I grew up in Nj and knew of Joan’s Story cause I grew up in the exact town. If you read my comment it kind of speaks for itself. But agreed the law doesn’t get enough worldwide recognition. I’m glad that this creator told Joan’s story. I wish more people would with large audiences. It’s important that people know about it.
@@jess_jeff7549 Hi yes well the problem is they can still pea bargain , but Joan's was needed badly especially in states like NJ at the time which had lenient sentencing
That poor little girl. It always amazes me hearing the strength families have. To be able to make something good out of such tragedy. What an incredible woman Joan’s mom is.
Thank you for doing this series.
And your cat is too freaking cute.
I live very close to this town. Her mother has tried so hard to make sure her daughter has a legacy! Happy New Year!
Your kitty was so much fun to watch. Honestly, it kinda made my day. It's just been one of those days. However, I did go back to watch it again to give this sweet little girl the respect she deserves having her story told. Great job as always!!! Joan is a rockstar for sure!
This case is so heartbreaking. I don’t know how you’ve been doing this for as long as you have :( I hope you take good care of yourself
Excellent portrayal of not only the murderer but for what has been accomplished in Joans name. Danelle you have grown in so many ways. You're compassion and attention to detail for these victims knows no bounds. not only am I glad that I have found your channel but I am proud of what you are doing for these victims
And you should be commended for everything that you have brought to us, the changing of the laws and exposing these horrible people for who they are and what they have done. Thank you for doing this for us and I do hope that you are able to continue this series. At the beginning of the video you mentioned that 2022 was pretty bad for you, I don't know what has happened in your life
Thank you to the kitty cat in the background for easing my anxiety today. I needed to smile 😊
I will be interested in your thoughts on the man just arrested for the Idaho murders. He seems like the same sort of creepy. It is so horrible that these people live among us.
Your cat is having a jolly old play time I love it
Have been keeping an eye out for your uploads , you've been missed...thank you for all you do and a very happy, safe new year to you and your family xox
Great work, Danelle. My heart breaks for Joan and her family. I’m thankful this monster never got out to take another life.
happy NYE Danelle! thank you for this video before the end of the year and I hope 2023 treats you well. 💕
Happy New Year, Danelle! Thanks for all the videos and dedication to the victims. ❤
Happy New Year Danelle 🎉❣️ Thank you for all your hard work & dedication!!
I haven't seen you in awhile. So happy you uploaded ☺. I absolutely adore you ❤. I've said this before and I'll say it again you are so special Danielle. Happy new year to you🥳
Usually I just listen to videos in the background but I couldn't stop watching your cutie cat behind! 🖤 made my day!
Thank you for covering this case, I had not heard about it before. I think it is an incredible tribute to Joan's life, all that her mom has done. The love of a mother is powerfully displayed in this case. I don't say that to begrudge any parent that has fought so hard for their child, I say it only to this mother and all she has done for so many children in honor of her child's life. God bless this family!
Thank you so much you caring thoughts
The money excuse is total BS he lured her in. He planned this probably since he ordered the cookies 😡 WOW! he planned this since he was young That's why he picked being a teacher!! His second story is also total BS. Really Surprise there wasn't prison justice on this one. Thank God he's with the devil where he belongs. Is
Thank you to the kitty playing in the background! Definitely eased the heartache of this story.
The subject matter is so serious, but I can’t stop laughing at the cat chasing his/her tail in the background. Too funny & priceless.😅😂
RIP, Joan. So sad.
I agree. Why would it matter if they had good behavior? It doesn't change his crime! This system we have is really tilted toward the criminal.
If "I dont know what happened to her" was an exact quote, my suspicions would have been raised immediately! Such a weird response when asking WHERE someone is, or 'Have you seen (person)'.
Off subject, but the cat doing acrobats in the back was so cute!🥰😆
Never heard of this case before but this was very sad. Thank you Danelle for giving us such a well-thought out video.
That’s great that Rosemarie fought hard for Joan’s law so that no family has to keep fighting for their loved one to keep some sicko behind bars forever.
Happy New Year Danelle!🎉Thanks for posting tonight!❤
I love the crazy kitty photo bomb! 😄
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into telling these stories
Happy New Year and many blessings. Your cat is way too adorable. I believe she’s had some good catnip 😂
Kitty is having a blast chasing that tail 😂😂
@@WhisperingMoon83 I adore it !!! Lol
This is such a sad case. It's also so scary to know this happened only about 2 hours from where I live. R.I.P sweet angel ❤️
Wow!! Today is my lucky day. All of my favorite RUclipsrs are posting. Happy New Year everyone❣️ Be safe!! 🎊 🎉😊❤
The cat fighting with his tail behind you on the bed...MY CATS DO THOSE EXACT THINGS🤣🤣🐾🐾🐾nice distraction with this heavy video 🕊
Hearing what Rose-Marie and the rest of Joan’s family has done in her honor to help others really makes my heart swell. It’s awful what Joan, her family, and the community had to go through but I’m happy they’re able to rise above and make change.
I honestly don't know that I could be as strong as Rosemarie if I went through this. She is honoring her daughter in such beautiful ways
Thank you so much
idk if I've commented this before, but I love how you go into the laws that come out of these cases!!! it's so helpful for people interested in law and HOPEFUL that change can actually be achieved, even/especially after such horrific events. thank you for all you do!
Poor girl all she wanted to do is sell some cookies. Poor innocent baby. I try to think about how when I was a kid and never really thought about the dangers of the world. I am a 92 baby Danelle just like you. Happy New Years!!🎉🎉
Totally binging your channel and love your coverage of old and new cases! I was totally going to mention and link John Douglas’ book. I have it on audible and paperback! I’ve been a huge fan of his since you were born lol! Great to see another supporter of his! His in-depth analysis of the killers and also his heartfelt support of the families is wonderful! Thank you for sharing! I learned more than I thought I had already known! Great job!
💞💜💕🩵💞💚💕🩷💞❤💕💛💞
thank you so much
This case is tragic and heartbreaking 💔 and I can’t believe how incredibly strong and resilient Rosemarie was through it all. I would be so devastated I’m not even sure I’d be able to continue on if this was one of my children. This is like my worst nightmare as a mom, for one of my kids to go missing. 😢
Danelle you are just so lovely! ✨ Your little reminder for a night out is just so sweet and I love that you think of everyone else, it’s just something you don’t see or hear enough. Happy new year Danelle, think this’ll be my like 6th year of listening and relistening to you a million times 😂 lots of love to you and all your awesome subscribers ❤️❤️
Hi Danielle! A woman I went to high school with(only 7 years ago) was murdered by her boyfriend in 2019 in Conroe, Tx. She was super sweet and it’s horrible what happened to her and I wanted to see if you would do a video on her so people can hear her story and know what she went through. Her name was Cassandra Benitez
Love seeing the kitty playing in the background. It makes it a little bit more enjoyable to listen to such a hard case. Keep up the good work
Oh my gosh, what a horrible WICKED man! My heart goes out to little Joan's family. Im just a year old than her & I remember quite well going around selling girl scout cookies. Thankfully nothing bad ever happened, but back then, people were more trusting of others. I can't even imagine how awful this was for her family. Big hugs to Joan's family
thank you so much
Good to see you back
I look for your new videos every week
Oh I also enjoyed watching your kitty playing!
I don't have much to say about the case. It's so terribly tragic, when it's someone so young.
I did want to mention how much I loved seeing your sweet little kitty playing with his/her toy in the background. I love seeing things like that in videos, it makes the creator seem more personable and relatable. I
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ your videos. Your delivery is so genuine and relatable
I'm a rape & domestic violence survivor... from 5 to 11 years old I was groomed, raped, sold, & under mind control. The monster was my uncle.. he didn't even get a smack on the wrist. I've witnessed & been through horrific things. These monsters are soulless... they look at children like commodities, property.
I still deal with trauma from My childhood & being with my daughters dad. I have PTSD, Anxiety, OCD, & Flashbacks. The BOTH of them are narcissistic sociopaths. Very good at manipulating & charming people... I'm one of the lucky ones who got away. I'm thankful to be here to tell my story.. this case is horrible 😢!! He's a whole different BEAST!
What a fascinating case - more because of Joan's Legacy and the hard, dedicated, loving work of her Mother - a Mother who just kept on mothering her child, along with everyone's children.
R.I.P Joan, and bravo to her Mother 👏💜💐
The thought that ANYONE could just be one mental break away from brutally murdering someone is the most terrifying thing I can think of. RIP 💜
She was such a beautiful, smiley little girl, it's just horrible. Your cat in the background having the time of it's life aha, gives a little light to this story. ❤️
Such a sad story thank you for telling it with compassion and understanding. Wishing you and everyone a Happy New Year from the UK. ❤
i love how you dive in immediately with a brief intro, very concise and straight to the point! i love it 😊
The kitty playing in the background is the best heheh 😻
Your kitty playing in the background is so precious!
Thank you covering this case Danelle, I have never heard of it before and you did a great job. Also love your kitty cat in the background! Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday season!
Your cat is giving me so much happiness in the background chasing their tail and the sun spots on the bed. What a cutie. It helps my brain take in all the information when I can watch pets at the same time!
Thank you Danielle for sharing her story. Happy New Year 🎊🎆
( your kitty doing backflips is ADORABLE:))
Happy New Year Danelle and to everyone in the Hallan fam! Thanks Danelle for giving me something to pass time with before the ball drops. Here's to another year of doing the stories of victims and their families justice.
Your cat is making me laugh had to watch this twice to give the little girl the respect she deserves without watching your cat 🐱
hey Danelle!!!
and happy new year!
That cat in the background is cracking me up! I hope it caught its tail.
Excellent reporting Danielle! People like this make me wonder if this is “really” the only time he ever did this.
Happy new year, Danelle!! 2023 is your year!🎉🥂🍾🎈🥳🎊
it’s so scary to see cases that occurred in close proximity to you. sending prays to her family.
And thank you for shedding light on these lesser known stories and the unfortunate victims such as this poor lil' girl. Thank goodness this case was solved, I hope it brings a bit of peace to her family and may she rest in peace too.
I would say this is one of the best cases you have shared with us. Beautifully told, shared with respect, etc
Happy New Year to you and your family and everyone here! Wishing you an abundance of blessings this year!
Hi Danelle!! Just wanted to let you know I watch you all of the time and totally appreciate how you do such thorough research and your presentation is in such a way that you're able to give us so many details without losing our attention like some of the other ladies do in their shows. Happy New Year to you and thank you so much!!
I really don't even fully understand parole. Why in the world would someone like this be ever let out???
I’ve never understood it either. This pos SA and murdered an innocent 7 year old and they seriously considered releasing him. It blows my mind.
This is such a terrible tragedy, and my heart goes out to the family… with that said, your cat had me cracking up! It’s like she knew you were filming and clearly having the time of her life lol
My siblings and I lost our parents far too soon and so every year we get together in honor of them on their birthdays and the days they passed away. However we call the days they passed away their angelversary.
The cat chasing its tail in the background. 💗
the book sociopath next door is also a really great read to get into the psychology and minds of sociopaths. this case reminded me a lot about what was talked about in the book
There are two cases here in Colorado that I would love to see you cover. The Jessica Ridgeway case, and the ongoing Gannon Stauch case
God bless her family for pushing for Joan’s Law. It seems like such a no brainer that it should have been part of the law to begin with. There should be no second chances for ANYONE who harms a child. Thank you for bringing us this case and providing awareness for these issues.
You always do such an amazing and thorough reporting on your subjects.Thank you for all you
do.
Her mother is such a beautiful person. Everything she had to say brought tears to my eyes. So glad that monster never got out and may this angel forever rest in peace ❤
Such a beautiful lil girl such a sad tragic story 😢thanx for shareing helps parents never trust there children to be alone outside of the home never!!
