My first GMAT prep score is 540 only.. what should be my next step..I see that I made a lot of silly mistake in verbal . While reviewing I was surprised to make those mistakes.. I have practiced completely from GMAT og.what should I do next to improve?
Hey Kshitiz, First of all, don't give up, it will only become better and better after practicing. GMAT is not only about English skill, there are other factors of time management, stress management and give up certain questions strategically. I did find many stupid mistakes after reviewing and question myself on how stupid I was during the test. After those negative experience, I changed a mindset and took it as an opportunity - to correct what was wrong and therefore to improve. Sometimes, we are not building the fundamental and those "stupid" mistakes shows the weakness of our knowledge database. One tip is that I have an excel sheet with all mistakes I have made. Little by little after doing this "boring" collections, I found the mistakes can be put into categories. And ah-ha comes! Best of luck and I believe that you will get an ideal score!
It may sound that way because English doesn't seem to be her first language. Verbal is usually easier for those that speak English as their native language because they can pick at the nuances of the grammatical structure "by ear." However, non-native English speakers oftentimes do better in the verbal section because they're learning the grammar rules without being influenced by options that sound right.
According to me its not 'how' you speak, its 'what' you speak! I guess you are referring to the verbal section, which is, in my opinion tests analytical skills more than than language mastery.
