Look, the obvious gameplan it to remove Barkley by taking a lead and not letting it go. Doesn't matter how good your running back is if you're forced to pass the ball to catch up. So either the Eagles will take a lead and Barkley will run all over everyone, or the Redskins will take a lead and you won't see him much. Same thing the Redskins did to deal with Gibbs. If it's the first thing the Eagles will win, if it's the second thing the Redskins will win. It's very simple.
The problem is that you need a BIG lead, because 7 or 10 points in a first/second quarter is not big enough of a lead to make a running team stop running.
