this musical is so crazy because most of the cast is very young but so talented already! its like a bunch of 10 year old kids performing better than so many grown ups with years of experience!
Great life lessons from this Matilda, truly depicted what a child genius is in the musical, they didn't do that in the movie. Just because a child can solve advanced math problems doesn't make them exceptionally intelligent. I take things too seriously...
She could also read books like Romeo and Juliet, War and Peace and Moby Dick at five! Also, she was more mature than the other kids (standing up to the Trunchabell, wasn't scared by the other kids telling her about the chokie ect)
Intelligence is the capacity to process data, making quick calculation does make him intelligent, being smart on the other hand is about how creatively you can use data to for problem solving.
And little people know When little people fight We may look easy pickings But we've got some bite! So never kick a dog Because he's just a pup We fight like twenty armies and we won't give up So you'd better run for cover when the pup grows up!

@python_megapixel actually, it is pretty well known in the U.S. Disney made a Cinderella movie in like the 60's-- it's still pretty ingrained in our culture

Josie Griffiths sings this song in the RSC cast recording, Adrianna Bertola sings Quiet, and Kerry Ingram sings the Matilda parts in all other songs. Hayley wasn't in the cast at this point.
000euMJ Kerry doesn't sing "I'm Here" in the Stratford recording. Josie Griffiths sings both "Naughty" and "I'm Here." Kerry sings other small parts in the recording. For example the part Matilda sings in "When I grow up" and "Miracle." Josie also sings in "Bruce" and Adrianna Bertola sung "Quiet." I hope that helped :)
They Never Stood Chance,They Were Written That Way. Innocent Victim of there story. Like Romet and Juliet. Written in the Stars Before they Even Met. That Love and Fate and a Touch of Stupidty and rob them all living happily.
This is so profound for a kids song! Really liked the message of not sitting around cribbing about the harsh realities of life and actually doing something about it instead.
Also, I cried.
True.
I wish this was around when I was a kid. I would have loved to preform this.
I'm 33 and I "perform" it :D
When I was little I would call my parents into my room and would “sing” this....if you can call it singing 😂 lol t
I’m performing in it as rudolpho
when i left primary school in y6 this was my leavers play😂😂
This is such an inspiring song, not just for a kid in a situation like Matilda's but for anyone who wants to take a stand against injustice really. And it's so wonderfully performed too! I got chills when I saw it live tonight.
I love when she sings "begin" in the line "a storm can begin"
Me too. And "a flap of a 'wing'"
Yes! It's a perfect little trill!
Yeah, her vibrato is so pretty!!
PUT IT BACK ON SPOTIFY THIS INSTANT. :
This is the good version :(
Came here for this exact reason lol
But nobody else is gonna put it right for me!
Nobody else is gonna change my story!
Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty!
Thank you to Tim Minchin and the cast and crew - def taking my little girl to see this.
Loved it so much when I went, I think ten years ago. Amazing cast especially little girl that played Matilda and the little black girl who played Violet - sorry I don't know her name, made the whole audience cry with laughter. Miss Trunchball was hilarious!
It was taken away and then they brought it back again - hopefully they will keep it.
' Sometimes you have to be little bit naughty'
This is by far the best edition of Naughty I've heard, well done Josie!
What's her name?
•ᴄʏʟʟᴇɴᴇ ᴍᴇᴍᴏʀʏ ᴍᴏᴏɴ• Josie grifiths
Is your profile pic of Wednesday Addams?
No Abbie Vena is amazing
I love how much you can hear Tim Minchin's style in this whole soundtrack
Saw this on Broadway during NYC trip, it was ASTOUNDING!!
How do they get children to sing so well??? Incredible!
this musical is so crazy because most of the cast is very young but so talented already! its like a bunch of 10 year old kids performing better than so many grown ups with years of experience!
@@DanielMaia Exactly! I have no idea how do they do it...
they whipped them when they went off pitch
@@ataridc uhmm.. that's asian style tho
More importantly, why the hell couldn’t THIS GIRL be on the movie? She’s SO MUCH BETTER.
Am I the only one who sings and dances along even though I'm way too old to be Matilda?
+Azelma Thenardier i do the same thing haha
haha I have to do this live
+Azelma Thenardier good to know i'm not the only one!!
+Azelma Thenardier I mean, why should anyone NOT?
I'm 15 and am using it for my tryouts song! I'm really tiny so I look like I'm 12 (10 according to some people😂)
the way she says little😍
Kaila Hutcherson pretty sure that's just the British accent
@FBI Isn't that a crucial plot point in one part of Love Actually?
@FBI Well, Colin, an English bloke™ goes to America so he can get laid because he figures out that a British accent is an aphrodisiac to certain girls
After hearing several versions of this song, I think Josie Griffiths sings it best. She just sings it so musically.
Yeah. I'll Agree to that. Although She Sounded just a Bit Like "Rita" from "Jelly Jamm", when She was Singing A Song.
The Trumpet

ikr a guy in my class can solve a math problem like that in less than a minute but overall he's kinda stupid
She could also read books like Romeo and Juliet, War and Peace and Moby Dick at five! Also, she was more mature than the other kids (standing up to the Trunchabell, wasn't scared by the other kids telling her about the chokie ect)

She can also speak a little russian in the musical to and The Russian mob boss is smitten by her intelligence
I know its kinda sad but at this point, this song is the only thing keeping me going in life.
This my favorite song!!
Same
Same here
For anyone who's still here c: : I'm playing matilda for my school production and I get to sing this :D and quiet too lmao I'm so excited!!
..
This music came out just as I was a small 8 year old getting into musical theatre and im so glad it did :)
it's such a good musical I saw it 3 days ago at the Cambridge Theatre and I've listened to the songs ever since

Brilliant my friend got to be Matilda so we got tickets now I can't get enough!
i got free tickets a different way (raffle thing and i was lucky)
Who's your friend?
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
And little people know
When little people fight
We may look easy pickings
But we've got some bite!
So never kick a dog
Because he's just a pup
We fight like twenty armies and we won't give up
So you'd better run for cover when the pup grows up!
Harry Hooper It's not mine; Les Miserables created it first
Gavroche! ❤❤❤
Well said.
I watched this yesterday and that scene was the on,y one that actually made me ball... he was so young
Coral Roper that sounds like something gavroch would say in les misarablé
I saw this musical at my school and when this song was performed I instantly fell in love with it
I absolutely love this musical. It's one of my favorite shows of all time. 11/10 would listen to forever

This musical I watched was International Tour.
Sands Theatre has Broadway, West End and National Tour musicals.
I really like this song♡♡♡
I’ve only ever heard the US version, but that one doesn’t have the verse about Cinderella! I really like this one!
@python_megapixel cinderella is hella famous in the US. i live in australia and even i'm aware of that.
@python_megapixel actually, it is pretty well known in the U.S. Disney made a Cinderella movie in like the 60's-- it's still pretty ingrained in our culture

My school is doing this musical and I got cast as Mrs Wormwood! This is my fav song in the musical!
Whenever I hear this song I get books, sing it, while dancing and lip syncing. I begged my mom to watch the movie.😂
I'm Matilda in the musical but I feel like the Broadway soundtrack with Sophie gennusa is a better representation of Matilda. Wish me luck we have two more shows

And if its not right!
You have to put it right!
But nobody else is gonna put it right for me
nobody but me is gonna change my story
sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty.
I’m learning this song and I’m singing it
I'm little and I can do alot but one thing I cant do is sing this song. Seriously try it
Is this Josie?
+Emily Lewis I think so
Emily Lewis yes
Cute
Haley sings it
Josie Griffiths sings this song in the RSC cast recording, Adrianna Bertola sings Quiet, and Kerry Ingram sings the Matilda parts in all other songs. Hayley wasn't in the cast at this point.
Elizabeth Beattie Does Kerry sing "I'm here" entirely? It sounds as if there are two different Matildas in that song.
Kws Matilda
I am fairly certainly that Kerry does the dialogue parts of "I'm Here", while Josie sings the song itself.
KWSs Kittys are Charlotte and Fabian and Gee Gee Josie did not sing in Bruce, Kerry did
So sad this show is closing :(
Charlie Sacco it's what?!!!!

Charlie Sacco nooooooooo! 😭
It's closing on Broadway. I'm seeing it on the West End in the new year.
I saw this years ago. I would REALLY recommend it. Take your daughter. The kids are AMAZING and it's very, very funny! Enjoy!
I auditioned for Matilda had to sing this song! Didn't get it though ☹️
Hi
Adam Efimoff no
Oh I mean I auditioned for matilda
I love the song but I still think the part that the Broadway version cut out is kinda unnecessary
It kinda breaks the song's melody
Sometimes you want you have to be little bit naughty 🙂

Music Chain!:
Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water...
So they say, their subsequent fall was inevitable.
They Never Stood Chance,They Were Written That Way. Innocent Victim of there story. Like Romet and Juliet. Written in the Stars Before they Even Met. That Love and Fate and a Touch of Stupidty and rob them all living happily.
The endings are often a little bit gory
So why did they just change their story?
