Steak bake and chicken bake and ofcourse the sausage roll.
Bacon and sausage breakfast roll with brown sausage and a coffee - good deal first thing in the morning.
Try chocolate eclairs😎
Sausage, beans and cheese melt is my go to and I can't have a Greggs Sausage roll without dipping it in brown sauce!
Their 'Yum Yums' are divine too
My favourite Greggs pastry is a Steak Bake. Second to that a Sausage Bean Melt.
This 👆🏻👏🏻
I wish they did cheese and beans ones
A lot of people are recommending that.
Just don't eat it straight away, it'll burn your lips off
Steak Bake all the way
A Geordie and a Mackem are in Greggs, the Mackem puts two steak bakes in his pockets on the rob, the Geordie saw this and says to the lady behind the counter, " pass me two steak bakes pet, and I'll show you some magic ", the girl hands over the steak bakes and The Geordie proceeds to scoff them at full speed. When he'd finished, the lady behind the counter said " howay!, thats not magic ", the Geordie says, " check the Makems pockets! ". Much love from the UK X
As a Scotsman living in Gateshead, this cracked me up. Nice one.
I am an employee at Greggs the most popular things we sell are steak bakes. There is a vegan sausage and bean bake which may surprise you how tasty it is even though it has no meat.
When you visit again try the glazed doughnut. There really yummy and vegan too.
I don't like the normal bean one because of the cheese. . I liked the vegan one very much though. Really surprised me.
For some reason the vegan options and vegetable pasty gives me heartburn. Been vegetarian a year so stick with the cheese and onion bakes or pizza.
I miss the steak bakes 😋
as a vegan, Greggs is honestly a lifesaver sometimes. decent options and cheap👍
Steak bakes are yummy
Definitely not an employee, as sausage rolls are the biggest seller.
Steak bake and a Belgian bun, can't go wrong with their steak bakes 😋
Sausage, cheese, and baked-bean melt is a good call at Greggs.... particularly for breakfast. Cheap and cheerful.
Oooh yeah I love the sausage and bean melt pasty 👌🏻
people rave about the steak bake but the sausage, bean and cheese melt is the true king of Gregg's
Cheese and onion pasty is where it’s at. I miss the the ham and cheese one, that was a close second.
@@ba55bar because it still tastes good cold, I love a steak bake, the texture of it cold is what I imagine dog meat to be like in your mouth, it kind of turns into a jelly.
You must try Greggs Cheese and Onion pasty. The Chicken bake is also one of my favourites as I just love the delicious creamy sauce inside. I totally agree with you guys about the Sausage roll and the pizza 🍕 very very tasty 😋 take care Dave
Mines defo the cheese pie love it xx
agreed
They were nicer a few yrs back but they ditched a lot of fat and salt which ruined how good it was
I love a cheese and onion too
Glad you're enjoying your stay with us 😘
I really like your travel blog, it's down to earth (not pretentious) and has interesting content. Travel safe and take care.
You were spot on with the Pizza - they are EXACTLY like school pizzas! Yep sausage rolls and steak bakes are what most people like. If you see them, try the bacon and cheese turnovers which are very nice. Love your videos and think you’re both great so thank you 👍
The pizzas are crap because they aren't cooked fresh. Any place that sells pizza slices like this where they are left in a hot cabinet for too long, end up with a soggy base. It just doesn't work! School pizzas taste the same for exactly the same reason.
Pizzas aren’t like school pizza
@@Wally-H Greggs food is meant to grab and go, sure it's not the best Pizza but it's o.k.and it's hot and ready.
I don't know about Greggs' baked goods, but the hotel bedroom wallpaper is a great match for Cara's glasses.🤓
I'm a veteran meat eater and I can say, having tried it multiple times, the vegan sausage roll is actually delicious. Definitely worth trying.
I second this
You can't be a veggie meat eater. There is no vegvie meat. Its either meat or not
@@Rocky19577 They said veteran meat eater, not veggie meat eater lmao
dyslexic@@Rocky19577
this is just propaganda
Ooooh I love Greggs steak bakes and yum yums, and their sausages rolls are also fab! You guys are great ❤
What a great couple you are, really enjoying your videos, I hope you continue to enjoy your visit to us here in the UK.
Definitely try Greggs vegan sausage roll! I'm not a vegan and love them. It changed the game in the UK when they came out, couldn't get my hands on them for months as they kept running out of stock.
Nope lol
I'll try one on Tuesday, thanks for info
Interesting. We both don't mind vegan stuff. We'll have to try it.
@@TheMagicGeekdom it's called l corned beef hash.. (corned beef & mash potato)
The king of sausage rolls ladbaby said it tastes nasty so no don't try
Next time try a sausage and bean melt, a steak bake and a chicken bake. If you were to visit the UK during the holidays you should definitely try a festive bake. They’re brilliant and you just have to have one at Christmas! 😃
Chicken bake is my favourite
Sausage and bean melt is my favorite, I always have them when I get greggs
Hallo
I love the steak bakes, chicken bakes and at Christmas they do a lovely steak and Stilton cheese roll (like the sausage roll) which is the nicest tasting treat! 😋
Hope you are both enjoying your time here 💖
We loved Greggs when we visited, we are from Australia, they had a Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade.in a bottle that was the best soft drink or do you call it soda that we tried. Now for the food for breakfast we loved the Sausage and Omelette Breakfast Baguette, that was yum. As for other food we loved the cheese and onion bake and loved the sausage roll.. All the baguettes we tried were good. We had these mini strawberry tarts they were divine. Also I love watching your UK adventures, you look like you having a blast,
Oh yeah. I forgot about breakfast! The rolls are sooooo soft and like you I go for sausage and omelet with red sauce. 😋
The Raspberry Lemonade is amazing 🙂
I've eaten in restaurants all over the world and still maintain that given the choice my last meal would be a Greggs sausage, bean and cheese pastie with a Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock. You should try the Fentimans brands of soft drinks. They're quite posh and a little bit more pricey but are awesome. Their Cola and Lemonades are sold in most supermarkets. Great to see you both immersing yourself in our gourmet cuisine! 😆
Great last meal choice...
Cheese and onion pasty (or bake as they're now called) and vegetable bakes are my favourite. I love the sausage rolls when they've gone cold 😍
Randomly clicked on this video and was surprised to see my home town! Hope you enjoyed Wells! But yeah the context of greggs is just that is super cheap and everywhere so you won’t get the best stuff ever but it’s reliable and sates a craving.
UK corned beef is very different to the US version. Actually that's my favourite from Greggs :)
Mine too. But I had my first one post-covid last week. £1.80.
Bit late but to delve deeper into their comments on pulverised meat it may as well be as it falls apart into meaty goodness
Just needs HP sauce
It's not so much "UK cornbeef is different" it's more of the fact this was an alternative method of making "cornbeef" during the boom of canned products, it was more of a rationing thing
The sausage cheese and bean pastie and the triple chocolate doughnut 🤤
Gotta love a warm sausage roll, hope you too are having a good time and the weather not depressing you too much lol
I just found your channel. And was just thinking wow that really looks like my local greggs. Then you showed wells high street lol. I live in wells. 5 minutes from the town. What a small world
Gregg’s is good value but you will find many independent bakers in town centers across the uk who offer top notch pies and pastries with more variety 👍
But do they cost a lot more because of that?
@@Thurgosh_OG Sometimes. They’re cheaper a lot of the time, though
@@Thurgosh_OG just depends bud, can find a great wee bakery that beats them on price and quality but even if its more its usually 40p per item somthing like that so not bad at all
@@solidsoup5027 where abouts are you? ive found that cheap bakeries dont really exist in/around london, only expensive premium places…just the rare cheap one thats somehow still running and unchanged since the 1990s
Great video! As a meat-eater, the Vegan sausage roll from Greggs is pretty good. Other options you have to try when you next visit: Steak Bake and the Yum Yums are incredible. At Christmas they have a limited item called a festive bake which is also delicious - chicken breast pieces, sage and onion stuffing, bacon and a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. Superb in the cold weather!
Hey, I just discovered your channel folks. Great to see different opinins and some good cuts ! Come over to Poland sometime :)
Vegan sausage roll and Totteham cake cheese vegetable pasty . Plain glazed donuts 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️ loved the vid
I'm amazed you even chose corned beef 🤣 Really enjoying your travels through the UK. Thanks guys! BTW, I suggest Greggs Chicken Bake.
Corned Beef is only good on a sandwich.
Chicken Bake - seconded!
The corned beef bake used to be quite good, but over the past few years they seem to have cut back on the amount of corned beef and onion that was originally in it.
@@timglennon6814 gotta fry it up with chilli oil until it's crispy and chuck it on rice. It's banging
UK and US corned beef are very different thinks
Greggs sausage rolls are fantastic! Great value, great pastry, ideal for a light lunch.
The Sausage, Cheese and Baked Bean bake is quite epic, especially when warm. Goes nicely with a sausage roll as well. That's always my combo!
that sounds pretty fantastic actually
That was funny 😂😂 I recommend the Steak Bake Pastie from Gregg's. There is a sausage & beans Pastie, but not sure it's for you guys. Never known anyone take a Gregg's to a hotel 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you guys kill me. Be safe 🤗🤗
Imagine all the flaky crumbs on the bed!
😆😆😅😅
My wife loves the Jammy Heart Biscuits, my daughter loves the sausage rolls.
As for doughnuts, my favourite is to find a little fresh doughnut stall/shop that makes them to order. Fresh cooked with a little sugar is awesome.
Also, I'd suggest trying a decent all butter or clotted cream Shortbread (not Shortcake, that's different).
This is not actually bread, but a kind of biscuit.
Two varieties I'd suggest is plain with sugar and what's called "Millionaire's Shortbread", which is shortbread topped with caramel and chocolate.
The sausage and bean bake, tuna crunch baguette and their yum yums are my favourite 😍😍
My go to is the sausage, bean, and cheese melt, the yum yums, and the toffee custard donut.
Gregg’s coffee is really smooth for a cheap chain eatery! McDonald’s always tastes burnt but Gregg’s nails it
It's so incredible there..love all the buildings... nice looks good..I'll take the box of donuts! ✌
Thank you Kreeper!😋
you guys have to tray a traditional greasy spoon cafe........get a propper fry for breakfast and a pot of tea, ask a balck cab driver or the reception at the hotel, ask for a traditional greasy spoon cafe for a proper breakfast fry......you won't be disappointed.
l like the warmed cheese and onion pasty. Very nice! Crumbly and good filling.
Cool vid , Gregg's are amazing....I'd pretty much live on just the sausage rolls happily lol....... just subscribed looking forward to more of your vids 👍
I love their sausage, cheese and bean melts (especially warm) and like their chicken cardboard box things too
love their sausage rolls, made to perfection
I am laughing my socks off at this video, as a UK native who has had more than my fair share of Greggs. I'd say you summed it up pretty well!!!
Must try Gregg's at Christmas time, their Festive Bake is mind blowing
Try a breakfast baguette with a latte. I love the sausage bean and cheese melt, but I am in my 40s, lived in the UK all my life and tried the chicken bake for the first time last week! Its now my favourite!
In the early days of Greggs opening up the first store in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the food was ok, the sausage rolls, pies and pasties were full and crammed to the crust. Now, things are very different even down to the pastry, which seems to be very rich and buttery. The only thing I buy from there now, is ‘grab food’ in the way of a tuna crunch baguette and a toffee custard donut or a peach melba. And even the peach melba is a little short on peaches compared to years ago.
Just wanted to shout out the city of Wells. I Lived there for many years, and love it.
Love the channel for both of you! A late comment but just incase you were unaware I thought I would advise on the following: In case you wondered the reason why food isn't always hot at Greggs is the fact that they don't call themselves a hot bakery because with hot food they would have to charge tax on it. Therefore if you want your items to be hot such as the sausage rolls / bakes the best time is probably lunchtime or a busy time when demand is there so they'll be heating a fresh batch of bakes etc regularly.
I recommend the "Apple Danish" from Greggs. Greggs is where everybody from office workers and building workers, to school children and shoppers go for a good value midday meal. I also avoid their corned beef bakes, as they give me heartburn. There is massive competition on the High Street for the midday meal trade. Since their are hardly and works canteens left now, and few people make packed lunches any more. My grandparents generation, seem to have been the last ones to think that eating in the street was a terrible thing to do. So just about every supermarket and gas station are doing sandwich based "Meal Deals" now. So Greggs have mainly switched from sandwiches to baguettes and wraps instead.
I’m from the UK and lived in California for the past 14 years. When I do go back first thing I get is the steak bake.
Other items I crave are kebab and chips, pork sandwiches, carvery dinners, fish and chips (orange chips), Indian food, and pubs lol
What do you mean by pork sandwiches? Like pulled pork or a spit roast pork?
I'm from Texas but was born & raised in England. Back then, Gregs used to be called Thurstons. I remember it well. Their cornish pasties and sausage rolls were my favorite.
What made you move to Texas?
er no it wasn't...
I’m surprised you didn’t try the Steak Bake. Probably the best thing they sell after the Sausage Roll.
Good video. Enjoy it.
The sandwiches are pretty good, the ham & egg salad one is my fave 😋👍🏻
I haven’t bought any foods from Greggs in a long time, but if I was out and about, in the middle of nowhere, and I’m hungry, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a Sausage roll, or a Crusty roll with a tasty filling, and a nice cup of tea.
Can't believe you were in Wells! I would of come and said hello 👋
Love it as always 👌🇬🇧
I especially like the steak bake and round Christmas the turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets baguette with gravy.
Greggs pizza is like school lunch pizza. The vegan sausage roll is by far the best item. Their wedges and cheese and ham toastie are great too.
Yep! Wedges and vegan sausage roll are my favourites in Greggs (I'm not a vegan).
I’m not even vegan but I like the vegan sausage roll!
They do wedges!?
Sausage and bean melt, chicken bake and sausage rolls can’t go wrong. Yum yums are fantastic from Greggs! The perfect not too sweet treat. Pizza yes they do look like from school! That crispy French bread crunch can’t beat it.
Their breakfast sausage or bacon , even both on a bread roll or baguette with ketchup/ brown sauce yum they are to die for!
Steak bakes are great and the yum yums for a sweet treat 😋
Steak bakes are the best thing in Gregg’s as well as the sausage rolls. The chicken mayo baguettes are nice as well 😄
This is so funny, you two are so polite 🤣
Those corned beef pasties caught me too. I think they are made with almost 0.1% beef.
I thought the one time I had one, it was good, but the pastry was kind of undercooked.
my favourite from greggs is a cheese and onion bake😩 I'm drooling😩😩
Recently visited the UK and family from there told us about Gregg's. We loved it. My son could live on the bacon buddy. The thing I liked about the donuts were they weren't crazy cloyingly sweet. Everything I got from Greggs was great so my video would have been a gushing, glowing review. LOL.
The sausage roll, steak bake, chicken bake, cheese and onion bake would be my go to, and for sweets, the yum yums 😄 Also, if you are able to get the pasties warm or hot freshly out of the oven, it tastes even better!
You got pizza at school? Wow. Lucky you. Surprised you didn't try the famous Greggs vegan sausage roll. Traditional sausage rolls were more like the Greggs ones just filled with sausage meat. But in recent years they've become much bigger and fancier with other added meats and ingredients like the ones you had in Cornwall. You're right about Starbucks coffee. It's like dishwater. You should try a coffee at Caffe Nero coffee chain next. I think it's the best. McDonalds coffee is supposedly pretty good also for the price which is only £1 I believe. You'll have to let us know if you agree.
The best thing at Greggs is the festive bake that come out for Christmas yummy
New sub from the UK. I am not vegan, but the vegan sausage rolls are stunning! My fave donut too! Only just found you, but will binge watch 🤗🤗🤗
Greg's sell 2.5 million sausage rolls a week and 1 million coffees. I love their Belgium buns.
Enjoying your videos
Thank you!
But how many people have heart attacks by eating them on a daily basis? It is basically fat disguised as food.
I always have a steak bake at Greggs. Hubby loves the cheese & onion. I still haven’t tried the vegan sausage roll so look forward to your opinions on that!
The vegan sausage roll will shock you! In a good way. 👍
The vegan sausage rolls are gorgeous, little less greasy than the meat version. I actually preferred the vegan steak bake to the regular too. Hope they bring it back again in the future.
Steak bakes are nice, but do not eat in your car prior to a meeting! Also, have wipes handy to wipe the gravy off your scalded chin 😀
I have a Vegan Sausage you can try 20cm
I must admit, I'm not a vegan but the vegan sausage roll is delicious and surprisingly meaty lol
My three favourite Greggs things are sausage roll, cheese and potato pasties and .... Yum yums !!! ... mmmmm
Steak and Kidney pie is my fav at gregs nice video thanks
Should have done the Steak bakes and Chicken bakes! They are awesome!
You should've tried Burns the bread in Wells. It's like Greggs but they only have a few stores in and around Glastonbury/Wells. It's amazing 😍
I love Burns the Bread! 🥖🍞💖 Always pop in there whenever I'm in Street, which used be a lot when I used to work in the area. I think there's one in Castle Cary too. They also have a Baking School in Glastonbury, where they do day courses in different aspects of Baking. Yum! 😋
Sausage, cheese and bean bake is the best!! also the chicken bakes and began sausage rolls 😁
Had me a margarita pizza slice yesterday and a sausage cheese bean melt. Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!
I like greggs southern fried chicken goujons, spicy potato wedges and definitely their sausage rolls. 🇬🇧
If I was on death row - Greggs would be my last meal for sure 😂🤣 I live in Thailand and you made me so jealous 😂
Much as i love Greggs cheap and cheerful fare, it wouldn't be a death row meal, that would probably.be a nice rare steak or maybe roast pork belly.
You live in Thailand with the amazing cuisine, yet crave Bland, processed Greggs garbage 😮😮 What??
Sausage and bean melt and a chicken bake for me every time ! The chicken bake in particular is bloody delicious
gregs fudge donut...steak bake, baked bean melt and never ending sausage rolls.....yummy heaven
I'm a baker so I suppose it's a bit of professional pride at work but I bloody hate Gregg's
You don't have to be a Baker to understand what an abomination Greggs is
Greggs pizza is just like the pizza in UK schools, that's why most UK school kids love Greggs.
The Greggs sausage roll is always a winner, i used to get the chicken and mushroom slice or a sausage or bacon baguette. It's cheap and cheerful food on the run.
I’m from leeds in yorkshire ….we go to Whitby which is an old fishing/holiday place …..plus you’ve got Scarborough all vintage British holiday resorts
Steak bake or cheese and onion pasty are my go to at greggs 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Just subbed too, great stuff guys 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
It's all potato very little cheese.
Add a sausage roll and that’s my go-to order 👍
Also it depends if they are warm to how they taste, love cheese and onion bake when hot but soon as its cold its a no go 😂
Definitely this.
My favourite from childhood is cheese and onion pasty. Second sausage, bean and cheese melt. Big shout outs to sausage roll, breakfast rolls and margarita pizza. Mexican wrap is pretty good too
I recommend the steak bake, chicken bake and also the hot baguette sandwiches. Although if you ever go around November-December the festive bake is my favourite!
You get what you pay for lol. Gregg's are a cheap alternative, on the go style food. While in the UK & trying our food, two of our nicest sausages are Lincolnshire sausages & Cumberland sausages. Gregg's Vegan sausage rolls are very nice too! 👍 🇬🇧❤🇺🇸
the best thing at greggs in my opinion is the caramel custard donut 😍 id never go for any other donut except the yum yums omg those are great too
I’m sure others have suggested them but I’d recommend the Sausage & Bean Melt, the Cheese & Onion pasty and the Beef & Vegetable pasty (which used to be called a Cornish pasty until they had to rename it as it’s made in Newcastle). If they are still doing the sweet mince pies all year round, I’d recommend them too (they did them all year when I worked there but that was a long time ago so they may have changed).
The best pasty from Greggs is the sausage cheese and bean melt.
Best sandwich is the mexican chicken baguette.
Also, the peach melba tart and strawberry tart are amazing. And the vanilla slices.
The cheese and bacon turnover is a life changer! Also the Sausage bean and cheese melt is really good.. however if you don't like baked beans it won't be your thing. Chicken bake is ok too and steak bake is good. I would say any of these. Defo the turnover though. I would not recommend their vegan sausage rolls but their vegan steak bakes and other vegan items such as vegan sausage bean and cheese melt are lovely.
Our version of corned beef is very different to the US version.
I found this out ordering a corned beef sandwich in the US.
Yours is chunky pieces where as the UK version is made as a sort of sliced processed meat.
Just came here to say the same thing! 😃
They do have our tinned corned beef too. My Texan girlfriend has used it when making my recipe for corned beef hash, which she and her family love now.
The vegetable pasty is nice as a bit of pepper in it also the beef and vegetable pasty the chicken is nice the sausage and bean pasty too
chicken bakes, sausage, cheese and bean melt with a caramel custard donut are my go to items!
Those all sound pretty tasty.
Got to get Steak bakes and eat them warm. Those and the sausage rolls are what Greggs are all about.
Glad you're enjoying your travels here, enjoy and be well.
Cheers from Scotland 🍻❤
Edit - Best thing Greggs ever made was their caramel and pecan Greggsnuts. I would buy a box every Friday for the office whilst getting my bacon and sausage roll and coffee. One day they were no more, discontinued, I was advised to email the company which I did when I got in the office. Here's what I emailed lol -
Good morning,
It is with bewilderment and sadness this morning that I find myself writing to you.
Having popped into your store in Glenrothes for my morning coffee and breakfast roll, I could not see on display any of your magnificent Caramel & Pecan Greggsnuts.
Enquiring to staff as to whether they were late being delivered and would they be in later, you cannot imagine my astonishment as I was informed this combination of nuts, sugar and heaven is no longer being made. Can you imagine if Ferrari were to stop competing in F1 or if Microsoft were to stop making the Xbox, unthinkable isn't it?
This was your David, your Sistine Chapel and to allow us its taste and then no more is tantamount to torture and is surely a breach of the European Convention on Human Rights.
The lovely staff members in store advised me to contact you through the website so I ask, implore and beg you to bring back this divine creation, and if you cannot, then please send me the ingredients and cooking instructions so that I can at least try (for sole eating purposes only).
Yours pleadingly
Paul Dryburgh
They emailed back apologising for it's removal with an attached voucher to try their other treats.
Fair play Greggs.
Highly recommend Warwick castle if you are in the area.
Thanks for the suggestion.
If you're staying in Wells, you must visit the next town along, Glastonbury ( where the famous music Festival is next week) and climb the tor. It will blow your minds.
If i were to go to greggs my choice would be a sausage roll, then yum yum and a cup of tea :) I think they do nice sandwiches too. I laughed at the school pizza description 😅 great video and love the wardrobe in the background at the end reminds me of the one from beauty and the beast 😂
