Since it doesn't follow the usual format maybe this one was on the day but usually they cranked them out in a booth 20 at a time or something. Just my guess. Also a booth could just be an unused conference room they way people talk about their online videos.
In the BTS of "Couples therapy" Jake jokingly complains that Amir only loses his shit laughing when they're filming with Ben Schwartz. I think he may be trivializing his own accomplishments, because right here, Amir is laughing so hard he friggin' moved.
Well Jake had been pretty much exclusively the ‘straight man’ character up to that point, since then he’s had more opportunities to be weird and insecure.
The fact that I can kept watching this show religiously for 4 years until the end speaks volumes about how amazing they were. Able to keep it funny till the end. There new show is awesome too, though a slightly different humor.
It just shows how funny they think eachother are. In the outtakes usually it was Jake not able to stop laughing because Amir gets him to laugh each time... it's usually Ben or Thomas that makes Amir crack!
It's not switched roles. Jake is supposed to be really insecure and to always try being cool, which amir doesn't get because he is a psychopath who usually thinks jake is the coolest person ever

Y'all can bitch about the newer episodes all you want, but this one is one of my favorites! If you script this out and you analyse Jake's character, you'll understand why Amir can't control himself. I'd say this (and all the other outtakes) shows exactly why the more recent episodes aren't as good. They have so much fun recording, and the outtakes are always funny, but that comedy doesn't necessarily translate over to a finished sketch.

However, Jake and Amir have a tendency to break and start laughing, so their best takes are usually outtakes. That being said, I disagree that their recent episodes aren't as good. I mean you can only do so much with Jake and Amir. And I applaud them for STILL managing to keep it relatively fresh after 7-8 years of doing this. I guess it comes down to personal opinion, but episodes like this, Gardening, Double Date, Chin Strap, Muscle Tee, Corduroy Pants... are all great skits. I look forward to each episode, and I'm VERY rarely left indifferent to them...

Nickatopia if i were you. I'm really curious what you think of it, I love it. If you aren't used to podcasts, they have ads at the beginning and middle, don't let it bother you, they do try to make it entertaining though. You don't have to start with the first episode and you might find it a little slow if you do. The episodes with the older guys from CH are pretty solid
This is because the J&A characters are great but actual Jake and Amir are very funny and entertaining people in their own way. That's why a lot of day 1 fans love the podcast
