With every new Hoyoverse and/or 3D adventure-esc gacha game that releases, I pre-download it and play the first few opening days. I started Genshin days before Hu Tao’s first banner ended, and I’ve had my on and off time with the game over the years I’ve spent with it. But even if I can’t stick with every gacha game I pick up, Genshin makes me happy, so I keep playing. If someone else finds a different gacha game that makes them happy the way Genshin makes me happy, then good for them. I hope they have fun.
@@saintspade Well, to be fair, my iPad is quite old at this point. It might run better on newer products, and WuWa isn’t the primary game I play, it’s Genshin. My iPad may not be able to handle WuWa sometimes, but it can handle Genshin better than my brother’s computer did when I tried to play it on that. Hopefully they do fix the optimisation, so I can play for longer periods of time consecutively, but I still find enjoyment in the game! :D
Dumb theory. Genshin is big enough that it isn't going to die, so there's no reason to worry about one's "investment". Most likely, it is just backlash to backlash. People hype up the new game, talk about how it is better than X, and so the people who favor X do the standard human tribalism thing. This tends to stand out more with Genshin related games, because A) it is such a big game, so plenty of vocal people on both sides and B) Hoyoverse sucks at PR and ignores a certain market demand, which leads to a bunch of dissatisfaction with Genshin that a more savvy company wouldn't have. And that in turn means more of those vocal people. Genshin is just a bit of a perfect storm... big, a good, solid core game play loop, but also flawed with untapped and just ignored potential with an unresponsive team in charge of it.

Even if ZZZ wouldn't be in the same rank as HSR or Genshin in terms of revenue, they still have their own niche and be successful coz of it. They focus on the "unique" aspect that most gacha players wouldn't vibe of the game however some would. It will probably have a niche community or it will become big like HSR (HSR have the same hate but ZZZ probably have more vocally when it wasn't released yet)
I kinda wish people go this about games. I'm a Granblue player for over 8 years. The sun is setting on my game, and you know what? Cool. Because NO mobile game lasts forever and if you went into a mobile game expecting that, you're F-ing insane. Things will happen. It's going to be a ephemeral thing. Expect it to vanish. Expect it to die. Have FUN with it while it's there. This applies to all games. People ripping into CAPCOM for Exoprimal getting only a year worth of content. It was a tech-demo made into a full game, made by the monster hunter people, and it was fun as hell. I get the fear, and the knee jerk stupidity but for fucks sake, chill out. You are playing a game that has a 100% chance to vanish in the future. Be it a year, 3 years, 5 years. Enjoy it. Take screenshots. Build memories. Find a community of people happy to see such a cool thing die in love, rather then be a whiny player sad that they can't keep entropy at bay. ZZZ has their own fan base i dont know why people doing this. Im personaly from Genshin, and when my friend tell me about ZZZ I thought to myself. "Well ok, but i play only Genshin so", but after the game comes out and i tried to play, I lost my words, this game has the 🔥and I said: "Wooow thats well made game omg!" And now I play ZZZ because the game itself give me vibes from the games like Cyber punk / Devil may cry / Genshin and so on... So in my personal opinion, this game is on 🔥 I like this project and I do hope that people stop hating that toho much.
For me... I would say its the early play. You do your pulls and get your free S rank which defines your early game and... Then you are stuck with the character, stuck with rolling, or seeing if you can buy an account. As a bad S rank can really hurt your starting feel of the game if the S rank isn't that good or doesn't match your play style. For me I wanted lightening bullets as I love the range play/guns and sadly got fire stun hammer... Not that she isn't good, but so far my main team is her, bear, and Billy as the lightening boy doesn't match my play style. Keeping fingers crossed to get enough material and hope I get an S rank gunner for the next banner.

Some of them are not loli (they don't completely look like a child like Clara or Bailu from HSR), but they still hover in a gray area that many people don't really like or feel comfortable with. Koudelka, for example, looks more like a short woman (like Rukia Kuchiki); not a child and not a loli. But most guys still prefer a woman who looks taller or more mature still. 🔸️ there are already good alternatives to the instance-based action gacha genre: Aether Gazer and PGR. 🔸️ The character designs for most of the characters look lackluster compared to those alternative games (Aether Gazer and PGR). 🔸️ Aether Gazer and PGR have more game modes available to play. 🔸️ Hoyoverse promotes ZZZ to be a fanservice game aimed at adult audiences, yet they still nerfed Nicole's assets. But it does take more effort so I can see people not doing so. I’ll try to go over each of your points. -I can see why some people think that way. The NPCs in the game are more detailed compared to what we’re used to. Which I do like as it makes the world feel more alive. I do agree though that Zhu Yuan didn’t stick out as much to me at first. -True, I ain’t either. Not all the characters are furries though. -I completely agree. Especially with Lucy and Piper. -That is true. I think it comes down to preference which one of those games appeals to you more. -l can understand why. IMO it’s more different than lackluster. Both AG and PGR (from what I’ve seen) follow a very maximalist and futuristic/fantasy design language. ZZZ is more modern-looking. -AG and PGR have already been released for years now. They will have more game modes. -I can’t really say much about the adult fan-service tbh. Not exactly my reason for playing these games. -I’m excited for both of those games! I understand most of your points but the take about the character designs feels wrong in a way since the setting is supposed to be an urban post-apocalyptic future so the characters aren't supposed to be designed too over the top and are made to look like something that you can realistically see someone actually wear.
I'd also like to add the fact that the game released a character drip marketing of another grey area character. There are also 3 characters that had their designs leaked that are also in the same gray area or even worse as one of them looks like they're in middle school. On top of that one if the designers; Waterkuma is known for making loli characters in other games ie Girls Frontline and Azure Lane. On top of that they also make some nsfw stuff involving loli characters. So, honestly if youre playing this game be prepared for more little girl adjacent characters.

I will still give you key points but it would be better if you just skimmed through the video next time. I talked about how fear of investment works based from my experience in a different game. which I then segued it to how it is for gacha games and how it could be one of the reasons that leads to tribalism. Genshin impact is still my main game (but now i only do daily quest because of the lack of content) and sometimes HSR, Wuwa is an interesting game and it captured genshin's success ( i just need to understand its lore so i could really love the game). While ZZZ is just a casual game to me, its UI is so confusing and its just a high definition version of honkai impact (never tried that game but it has the same concept)

ZZZ remind me so much of Guilty Gear. and since Mihoyo CEO is an Utaku I'm pretty sure he is a BIG FUN of it. which also explains how Zenless Zone Zero was named ZZZ like how Guilty Gear is called GGX as matter of FACT the character selection in ZZZ has almost the same fucking style as GGX GGX is a fighting game and every character has it's own story and Animated cutscenes. Mihoyo is trying to combine the current simplistic Gacha gamers and the Fighting gamers. you can't really do fighting games in mobiles phone since it lacks joystick. you can almost say the same with keybboards. trying to combine both is going to be hard for mihoyo.
I never really enjoyed honkia and genshin. Imo its kinda complicated to me. But i really have been enjoying ZZZ and the fact that its controller supported is a plus, i play on tablet.
I love zzz, but I personally feel like 90 guarantee S is criminal. and the hidden pity is just HSR but still, good story, nice gameplay, gacha is questionable and doesn't feel rewarding. 6/10 thhey gave out a free 10 pull for 50mil downloads so maybe 7/10 but idk we got some rough things to fix
Me playing wuwa, hsr, genshin and soon zzz (maybe hi3 if my phone didn't ran out of storage) i can manage all thise games together. My game time increse incredibly whenever 1 game gets an update ir new content

What I mean by fed up is there's too much gacha games to invest your time in now. that's one. and two, fed up to dev's promises. and three, it's the internet, whether you're fed up or just really hate a game, you can speak about it and a lot of people would choose to speak about their opinions about a game that would seem like hating, but in reality, they're just tired of it all.

I think we need to be careful about lumping in the majority of disinterest in a new IP to just be the result of "blind hate" for something new.
The gacha scene is hype with people being excited for the many new games that are coming out.
I'm not gonna say that there aren't people who are being petty or who are trying too hard to protect their favorite game. But they are not the majority.
You see a lot of hype for Project MUGEN, yet you barely see any for ZZZ. That's for a variety of reasons and not all of them are for the sake of protecting another game.
The gacha scene is more than just Genshin's fanbase. And from what I can see with WuWa, there are plenty of Genshin players willing to leave Genshin for a newer and better game. Some of them are waiting for Project MUGEN too.
ZZZ's current state isn’t the result of pettiness like so many CCs are now making it out to be. 😅
@@milmil5350 I appreciate you for commenting! I think this is a good example of how someone should go about sharing their disinterest and critique a game. But it does take more effort so I can see people not doing so. I’ll try to go over each of your points.
-I can see why some people think that way. The NPCs in the game are more detailed compared to what we’re used to. Which I do like as it makes the world feel more alive. I do agree though that Zhu Yuan didn’t stick out as much to me at first.
-True, I ain’t either. Not all the characters are furries though.
-I completely agree. Especially with Lucy and Piper.
-That is true. I think it comes down to preference which one of those games appeals to you more.
-l can understand why. IMO it’s more different than lackluster. Both AG and PGR (from what I’ve seen) follow a very maximalist and futuristic/fantasy design language. ZZZ is more modern-looking.
-AG and PGR have already been released for years now. They will have more game modes.

I agree that we do need to be careful about labelling something as hate. However, what you commented had solid points about the disinterest. They may feel the same way as you did, but if they express it in a vague and negative way, then that’s what I consider as hate. I agree they’re not the majority. They’re the loud minority that is still made up of thousands of people. I agree with the rest of your statements. But from the CCs I have watched at least, they’re addressing that part of the community being petty. Not that it’s the sole reason why ZZZ is in the state that it is in.

I understand most of your points but the take about the character designs feels wrong in a way since the setting is supposed to be an urban post-apocalyptic future so the characters aren't supposed to be designed too over the top and are made to look like something that you can realistically see someone actually wear.
I'd also like to add the fact that the game released a character drip marketing of another grey area character. There are also 3 characters that had their designs leaked that are also in the same gray area or even worse as one of them looks like they're in middle school. On top of that one if the designers; Waterkuma is known for making loli characters in other games ie Girls Frontline and Azure Lane. On top of that they also make some nsfw stuff involving loli characters. So, honestly if youre playing this game be prepared for more little girl adjacent characters.

I don’t think it is right for you to say you won’t watch the video and then ask me to give you a summary about it if you were wrong or lacking the full context. I will still give you key points but it would be better if you just skimmed through the video next time.
I talked about how fear of investment works based from my experience in a different game. which I then segued it to how it is for gacha games and how it could be one of the reasons that leads to tribalism. I talked about the loud majority of the community as well being hard to reason with. And among other things but those are the key points.

Yeah, I'm just lazy I watched only some parts of the video and read the sequence titles that you broke down and assumed it was all mainly tribalism cause all the key points seemed to point to it.
So I decide it was not worth watching cause it's just a wow situation all over again, only saw some of the parts and I'm just way too lazy to hear things that I already know or expect for the 1,000 times.

Genshin impact is still my main game (but now i only do daily quest because of the lack of content) and sometimes HSR, Wuwa is an interesting game and it captured genshin's success ( i just need to understand its lore so i could really love the game). While ZZZ is just a casual game to me, its UI is so confusing and its just a high definition version of honkai impact (never tried that game but it has the same concept)

as matter of FACT the character selection in ZZZ has almost the same fucking style as GGX
GGX is a fighting game and every character has it's own story and Animated cutscenes.
Mihoyo is trying to combine the current simplistic Gacha gamers and the Fighting gamers.
you can't really do fighting games in mobiles phone since it lacks joystick. you can almost say the same with keybboards.

I never really enjoyed honkia and genshin. Imo its kinda complicated to me. But i really have been enjoying ZZZ and the fact that its controller supported is a plus, i play on tablet.
I love zzz, but I personally feel like 90 guarantee S is criminal. and the hidden pity is just HSR but still, good story, nice gameplay, gacha is questionable and doesn't feel rewarding. 6/10 thhey gave out a free 10 pull for 50mil downloads so maybe 7/10 but idk we got some rough things to fix
Me playing wuwa, hsr, genshin and soon zzz (maybe hi3 if my phone didn't ran out of storage) i can manage all thise games together. My game time increse incredibly whenever 1 game gets an update ir new content
The only reason why i haven't been playing ZZZ is because my PS5 keeps crashing.

What I mean by fed up is there's too much gacha games to invest your time in now. that's one. and two, fed up to dev's promises. and three, it's the internet, whether you're fed up or just really hate a game, you can speak about it and a lot of people would choose to speak about their opinions about a game that would seem like hating, but in reality, they're just tired of it all.

Now we’re a bit jaded and compare it to everything else. I also think it’s more of how they speak about their opinions. But if they do at least say a solid reason why, then yeah they’re more of fed up and speaking about it.

As a 3 Year ( almost 4 ) Genshiner, ZZZ has proven to be quite a very enjoyable experience. Everything is just so lively & vibrant, with a killer soundtrack. Those that hate, simply were not cut out for the game. It's no different than the hate Genshin gets. At the end of the day, Hoyoverse is winning, and that's all that matters.
