I'm working on a project that uses a central loop similar to this. Getting the right balance, I'd imagine, is trickier than your video suggests. Great video!
I'm about to do my first steer slaughter. You're correct. I am looking at that wondering if it would just fold under the weight of my guy. Feels like it needs a support between them like a wire coat hanger
Though interesting I wish you would talk more while your doing it, tell us what your making, how your doing it. It's one thing to watch someone just make something, it's another to be taught about what's being done and why.
Beefy boy! NICE job. 1 heat drawing out...that's what I'm talking about. That would have taken me 6 or 7 by hand. Not sure cuz I'm 6 in and it's not there yet! 😂 God bless Mr Roy! Crawford out🙏🔥⚒️🧙🏼♂️
Thanks Roy, nice job. Been 25+ years since I ran the calcs for estimating the amount that would flex. Are you using A36 and do you know the flex will be acceptable by design or experience?
Made one year's ago for My mentor and friend Raymond sim the same size and dimensions as This one.. The largest beef we ever hung Was 2200lb standing hoof weight And it held that bull just fine.. It did flex a little bit if my memory serves me correct 🙂
Great video buddy love your work. And your anvil little to no sound amazing. I'm looking to making your leafs as Christmas gifts for family and sale. Do you have a printable template for sale?
Not sure what leaf your referencing but everything I have for templates and plasma cutt blanks is over At our website linked in the description 😁 thank you for taking the time to watch And glad to have you as a subscriber.
I can't believe nobody has addressed the elephant...uh....COW in the room in the comments yet. Where in the world does one get HEX/OCT bar stock?! LOL. One serious question though - with the cant of the eye of the gambrel, does that stop the twisting to one side that I could see be inherent in that sort of design? I'm not knocking your work - far from it! I can just see in my mind's eye that when a weight is put on that and it is lifted up, it would tend to swing in one direction based on the direction of the loop, spinning the carcass in that one direction, left or right depending on how it is hung. I'll freely admit I have no experience forging or using one of those, so I could definitely be wrong. I'm just wondering if more of a twist in the eye to counteract the spin when hung would help, or perhaps it would hinder the flex you are describing that is built in? Great job as always, Roy!
hahaha. nice. youre looking bigger. tallar is that camerra? i used to think you were thin and short with a tall wife, but now you look taller and bigger....either you are still growing or i'm seeing diferently.
Beards looking pretty full Roy !😉loved the video

@@ChristCenteredIronworks That is an understatement, for certain. Great project, Roy.

What length and thickness of bar would you recommend for deer?
My suggestion is 5/8" round or 1/2" square × 24" Long 🙂👌

Thanks for the feedback ☺️
What is that power hammer called? I know it’s not actually powered. I would love to have one for my shop.
Beefy boy!

@@ChristCenteredIronworks I wouldn't be surprised with a little flex! Not a problem when it is accounted for!🙂
