Hi, whenever I setup the node connected to the ethernet cable it creates a new Wifi network different from the one that comes with the modem, is there any way to make a single network that uses both the modem and the parent node?
with the velop you will create a new ssid network. if you have 4 nodes, all 4 nodes will have the same ssid. the modem from the ISP have a different ssid. you can setup your velop. its recommended to keep the modem ssid wifi with a different ssid so you can differentiate the wifi around the house.
Recommend not buying any Linksys Wifi product. My brand new WiFi 6 mesh router failed almost a year ago and Linksys refuses to replace the unit even though they admitted it is a hardware failure. I went to Eero, far better performance and support.
Yes, on on some mesh models (mine is a Velop WHWO) , they force you to download an app and set up a link-sys account on your phone to do the setup. Avoid Linksys!

is there an ideal distance between the parent and child nodes before they loss connection?
the top led turns yellow if the distance is too high. the linksys app in the phone show you the signal from every node

This is crap. I absolutely hate this th8ng. It never works!!
The worst system I have worked. You will be forced to use app. There is no reason why you should purchase this crap.
you setup with app but once is setup, you can configure settings in your browser!
