I started learning guitar a couple o weeks ago (at the age of 40) and "Hearts on Fire" riff will be my first to learn - I've chosen this one among tons of other great metal songs:).
Oscar has the best mentality that I admire in the world of rock, he is human above all. Nerdy animal lover and family, this man has my respect. It was a pleasure to meet you in Fortaleza 2017.
I like the way he's not interested in showing himself arrogant and admit without problem that he just can't play "virtuous solos" and he needs a lead guitar with him to make a complete metal band. After all, what he does with all he has and the way that he brings himself in the shows, makes you feel emotions, specialy to the people who likes the band (now, or in the past, whatever).
He is a good soloist, though. Not as flashy as Pontus or Stefan, but still good. Especially if we take into consideration the fact that 17 years ago he shattered his arm rather so badly that he never recovered completely.
I'm exclusively a Rhythm guitar player I love solos but i never had the urge to play any solo Riffs fascinate me and was the reason why I love playing guitar
As a Swede it’s sooo cool to see a vid with Hammerfall! I remember my brother putting on the Glory to the Brave album when I was about 8 or 9 yo. Been hooked to metal ever since, so seeing Oscar is truly nostalgic! Legacy of Kings is in my opinion their best album.
More of these interviews please, let these guys show off and tell their story that they worked so hard for, and I love listening to the so “normal” scenarios these people were in before making it big, it’s jukebox hero in interview form and I love it

I've always felt like a connection with Oscar when I almost never saw him play any solos, but instead the awesome riffs as I myself never were really interested in flashy solos and were happy enough playing riffs. Feels cool to actually hear him say this :) It's pretty unusual for guitarists to admit they aren't interested in flashy solos or stuff like that,.
Oscar! We must be blood brothers. I built a guitar in shop at Camp Tecaboca when I was around 14. It was a red Flying V based around (Ratt's) Robbin Crosby's guitar. RUSH 2112 and VH1 were my first bands. ACCEPT, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest etc. were right after that. ROCK ON!!

Yes. A lot of people underrate rhythm players, not knowing they are the most important part in the song. Soloing is like 15 percent or less.

Legacy of Kings is one of my favourite albums of all time, been playing it regularly for 22 years now.
You and I have the same view if the guitar. All I wanted to do was riffs, heck with the lead and I also played alot of accept.
