That’s one of the first thing I noticed about the cutscenes in the part 1 remake. I took some good screenshots of Tommy/Joel argument and this one. It brings it so much more closer to real life and it just feels right.
The facial expressions have improved so much and I already thought they were really good in the original ver.. Like at 1:26 Ellie already looked hurt, but here you can actually see the shock and outrage in her eyes that Joel doesn't take her seriously.
The Graphics are unbelievable. I was making the Platin in One Try. But i have to say that was a Game i cared for to Play with. IT was a Journey wich i could Play even in 20 years again.
People not being able to make sense of Ellie's journey don't understand that she was upset at herself for not being able to forgive Joel the way she wanted to. She waited too long, and she blames herself more than she does Abby. Tlou1 is such a masterpiece, but the story runs deeper in Part 2.

I admit I was wrong. Both parts are one of the best games I’ve ever played, and will be remembered for many years. Thank you naughty dog, you did good.
I personally think because Joel couldn’t save his own daughter and Ellie becomes the nearest thing to a daughter he has he makes damn sure to save her I think the thing is not that he’s upset that Ellie’s mad at him but he’s upset that she’s getting older and making her own choices without him
Yeah. I think so too. When Joel finds Ellie in the restaurant killing David with the machete and she starts crying in his arms, he calls her "Babygirl" which is what he called Sarah at the beginning of the game. So, towards the end of the game I think he started to think of Ellie as his daughter.
I've just finished The Last of Us II and I'm still "recovering". This scene confirmed how pure was the plot of the first videogame and how it melted my heart the way Joel and Ellie improved their relationship. Tlou 2 gameplay is surely more complex and funny in some parts, more articulated and literally made me trumbling for the strong emotions I felt, but the story of the first The Last of Us will be always the best one. Always. Thank you Joel, thank you Ellie, you have my heart forever. p.s. can't wait to see what HBO will do for the second season!
Love that suttle change they made with remake where in the remastered version joel gets surprised when Tommy barges in but in this he keeps the eye contact with Ellie to show how intense this moment was
I must admit I dislike the notion that you cannot know what loss is when you are a child or before you have lost one. I know from experience that it leaves a deep hurt to lose a parent before adulthood even if you have a lot of supportive family left. Ellie is an orphan. She has lost her relatives too and has had to leave others behind. At least Joel has his brother left in the world.
I like the ellie seeing herself in the mirror thing they added at 1:03 in this version but in the last gen version joel was distracted by tommy coming in the room. I prefer that one
I'm not sure why it's so important to me, but to me the original scene is a bit better. It has this subtle expression Joel makes when Tommy barges in saying the have company. Joel looks surprised, maybe even a little disappointed and ashamed in himself that he said what he said. And, most importantly, more vulnerable. Like he was caught naked. Again, I'm not sure why that little expression being left out means so much to me, but it really was the little nuances in expression that made me fall in love with the game when it first came out. Just felt so painfully real.
I just looked up the original scene and I agree. I wish they’d kept that small moment of self-reflection and guilt in there. It does make it feel so much more real
Guys I first went through Last of Us Part II, and I must say my heart sunk and I was heartbroken. It was so depressive and gut-wrenching. For whatever reason, I didn't grow a fondness for the Last of Us when it was released on PS3 back in 2013. I knew that it was a big, important and critically-acclaimed game, but TLOUII appealed to me more. Now going though the TLOU1 Remake (which is phenomal and fantastic by the way), I must say my heart sunk again with Ellie and Joel's story. Both the games, the story and themes, it's too much to handle. Absolutely gut-wrenching story. Neil Druckmann said, when they announced the TLOU1 remake back in June 2022, that he was working on a project that it was too early to unveil. What begs the question, is there more room for a Last of Us Part III? Do we need to find out more about Ellie, after what she's gone in TLOU2?
Absolutely stunning. I thought they overpriced this, but I expected it to drop in price by now. I’ve got plenty of other games to play so I’ll wait for £30-£40.
the brightness /was/ all the way up in this scene, It looks normal to me because my monitor is basically an old box tv and it has trouble recognizing the difference, so it’s better to have it all the way up so I can see in the more visually challenging areas. The scene is still incredible. thanks tho
Idc what anyone says, playing Part 1 and having a new and fresh experience with such an amazing story was really great, and pulled me in emotionally 3x more than the original game did with the remade actor expressions
One small thing that upset me about this scene in the live action show is how Joel says “you have no idea what loss is” he says it with such anger and pain in the game. In the show it kinda just felt like another passing line. Maybe im reading too much into it but it shows the real selfish side of Joel. Thinking that because his daughter died he is the one that suffers most in the world. And no one else has felt pain like him. When in reality there are probably people who have lost more. Like Henry had to witness his brother turn then shoot him and then shot himself. Again maybe im reading too much into it.
unpopular opinion: I liked Ellies face better in the original. Yes it looked more uncanny, but at least she looked 100% like a child. In the wrong light, this looks like they took an adult face model and de-aged her (which is likely what they did).
I actually think that she looked more like a kid in the remake. In the artstyle of the original, everyone had a model-ish look, including ellie, which I think ages her face up quite a bit. Here, the faces have imperfections and weird proportions, without necessarily making them look ugly. There's an awkward feel to her face in the remake, which I think is more in line with the look of an everyday teenager.
I also think the original looks better... for this scene especially. In the original you can see her eyes filling with tears and later crying... in this you see none of that
@@TheStraightestWhitest You guys need your eyes checked. Ellie in the original wasn't crying. In the remake you can see more emotion because the characters resemble real people.
Looks like those hunters did Joel and Ellie's relationship a favor; he got some of that pent up energy out on them and then they made up shortly afterwards.
He's so terrified to be responsible for her. Afraid he'll fail her, like he thinks he failed Sarah. Emotions from the past swirling in his mind, because he's come to care about Ellie. TLOU2 is still horseshit BTW.

The last of us 2 makes this scene so sad. Ellie just speaking about Joel being the only person who she cares about
One of the best (if not the best) scene I’ve ever seen in a video game. The remake make it even more powerful. I just love this game!
i've watched it a million times now
The detail is insane, you could see the saliva coming out of Joel's mouth
It does make it feel so much more real
right that was why I felt something's missing
Man whyd they get rid of the eye shift Joel does when Tommy bursts in. I always loved that little detail
the first game always gives me goosebumps
I’ve got plenty of other games to play so I’ll wait for £30-£40.
i used to always want a son but after tlou 1 years ago i can’t decide
Just a quick tip your brightness is a little high or bump up the contrast a little bit. You’ll notice a big difference 👍
the brightness /was/ all the way up in this scene, It looks normal to me because my monitor is basically an old box tv and it has trouble recognizing the difference, so it’s better to have it all the way up so I can see in the more visually challenging areas. The scene is still incredible. thanks tho
@@shinozu5444 ohhh gotcha 👍
Game says: "I got two walking in"
Captions says: "I got two Buckingham"
Joel in TLOU: 😎
Joel in TLOU Part II: ⛳🏒☠
I wonder if there's a problem with recording HDR. A lot of footage from this game is extremely washed out.
I think so. Once I got my hands on the game I adjusted the settings and it looks way better than this
@@l3g0maker My poor setup can’t handle all of the goodies it came with 😔😔
My wallet looking at me: "You know pal? What are $70 anyway?"
You should definitely at least try it. 😅😅 It’s much more challenging than the first two..
We really are The Last Of Us ™️ Ellie
aw man, they took out his eye twitch in the remake.
I wanna see this scene with the character models swapped
How funny would that be. I would’ve loved some crazy customization like that after beating the game first time. 😅
Idc what anyone says, playing Part 1 and having a new and fresh experience with such an amazing story was really great, and pulled me in emotionally 3x more than the original game did with the remade actor expressions
Thats why i love played this game from ps3 ver, ps4 one. and now pc ver. No regrets at all !
Again maybe im reading too much into it.
they even got Joel’s spit, amazing game🔥🔥
One day he said: "You have no idea what loss is..." Now she knows...
she already knew what loss is.
I would rather see new characters being introduced into the franchise rather then Joel and Elle being done dirty
I get goosebumps
Tbh, I woulda prefered an animated HBO serie like this of TLoU. It's just beautiful. Lmao
„Got some Towels or anything?“
“I’m not your father” after that, look her eyes and its lips tries to say somethin… but couldn ‘t
unpopular opinion: I liked Ellies face better in the original.
In the original you can see her eyes filling with tears and later crying... in this you see none of that
@@JIDcrit This. She looks so much more emotive in the original.
Ugh. Seriously, youtube can gf itself. 4 paragraph response deleted just like that.
@@TheStraightestWhitest You guys need your eyes checked. Ellie in the original wasn't crying. In the remake you can see more emotion because the characters resemble real people.
masterpiece💔
omg the brightness
Pedro Pascal was great, but I wish it was Hugh Jackmen. He would’ve been perfect for the role.
Hugh Jackman would’ve absolutely smashed the role. I 100% agree. I think Pedro Pascal did so phenomenal tho.
THE ONLY GAME TO WIN AN OSCAR, EMMY AND GOLDEN GLOBE!!!
For someone who played the original game, yeah this is indeed more beautiful
My favorite part of the game
Looks like those hunters did Joel and Ellie's relationship a favor; he got some of that pent up energy out on them and then they made up shortly afterwards.
He's so terrified to be responsible for her. Afraid he'll fail her, like he thinks he failed Sarah. Emotions from the past swirling in his mind, because he's come to care about Ellie. TLOU2 is still horseshit BTW.
This scene, Joel’s and Tommy’s argument, and Joel’s interrogation scene are the top three scenes in the game
He said she's treading on some mighty thin eyes hahaha
