One of them is way too young to play a 53 year old, the other one is way too old to play a 14 year old. Still - I can't imagine other actors who would do it better. It's pretty insane how well they actually played their parts. Respect!

It's amazing how well they captured Ashley Johnson's glassy, crystal blue eyes in Ellie. You can see flashes of the character and the actor in each other.

Voice acting can really be an emotional ride for the actors, they really get into the characters perception & feelings and I bet you with the last of us they had to take a few breathe in, breathe out moments because its just such a meaningful game

just realizing Ashley johnson is a fucking amazing actor, they way she brought ellie life and put so much of herself into the character is fantastic, she deserves more recognition.
It's so ironic that the one game where I actually liked the ending, ended on a lie... It's the bittersweet that make the best endings it seems because at the end of the day, that's how life is.
Ikr a lot of games try to force the happy ending and it feels out of place
Dunno how i feel about Joel denying humanity's cure lol. Maybe Marlene should've killed him. I mean she had like 20 chances to off him. Marlene is a way better person than Joel imo. I think that Joel feels he failed his daughter once and he's determined to never let it happen again when he starts viewing Ellie as his "baby girl".

Ashley has such an easy-going, bright laugh. It's really nice. That, plus the musical, made my day.
my favorite part of this entire video is troy's laugh when she says the other actor pushed her back and when he said that he wanted to take care of Ashley as soon as he saw her
I honestly love how we can see some of ashley's natural impulsiveness and anger flow into ellie's character, she was absolutely perfect for this role.

And it was brilliant. The chemistry between Troy and Ashley was there, *is* there, and is obvious for all of us to see. You can't fake that, can't manufacture it. They made the perfect Joel and Ellie.

Yeah id agree on the fact that their chemistry is very good, and needed considering they work together like this lol. I dont know if its like a sexual thing, as many people will say, but i honestly think its more than that, more than just 'they both wana ride each other'. Its friendship, one built upon the experiences they both felt making this game, which lets be honest is very emotionally charged. As actors to get into the mind frames of Joel and Ellie, that would be a crazy experience.
Amazing actors - you can just listen to them talk all day and they never feel forced. It truly made The Last of Us a unique experience :)

Here after covid 19 and beating the game after working in the covid.
In the shots where you only see Troy you see part of the lampshade in the shot which reminds me of Joel's listening mode.... I want the camera to pan right so we can see an enemy.... Last of Us gamers will understand...
