I remember going to Dollywood in younger years, and seeing 192 with the spark arrestor, I became pretty fond of it and when we went next, when it didn’t have it, I thought it looked weird as it didn’t have it. I love 192 and I really wish they would put it back on her, as she looks very good with it, and remove the chin spark arrestor, as it just looks, no, but I do keep coming back to this video, and I keep on loving it.
22:31 192 with a special farewell whistle salute to the 2024 ISU Grand Prix Final France Exhibition crew... Emotional whistle salute that everyone brought to joy
That’s some great footage! That Rebel Railroad whistle really fits 192. I just can’t help but get goosebumps when I hear that whistle. Also what was that ticking noise I kept hearing? It sounded like a pressure washer.
well im pretty sure there's only four of them but im not sure well first you got 190,192,195,and 196 ,sadly both 195 and 196 was scrapped, 195 that is unknown why it got scrapped but 196 was scrapped after it derailed and turned up on her side, hopefully that answers your question crater films
Ragan Jones 195 still exists in Skagway and 196 was rolled over in the river. The only reason these four survived was because they were the work horses of the 190 class. The rest where wrecked or scrapped at some point. The injectors are set up very similar to that of 190. The reason they had them “protected” in Alaska was to keep them from freezing in sub zero temperatures (there’s record that these engines ran in -70 degree weather.)
It’s been kind of dry and it was really wet in early summer they done some test runs this week I saw the video of 192 with just the tender and no cars this week on RUclips
I had seen it from Tim Smith on Facebook that the exhaust burnt through the netting. I guess since it was late in the season and that 70 was almost ready, they opted not to replace it yet.
I also know why the we’re doing test runs, because the rod between the 3rd and 4th wheel snapped and she was left up there for a week before they could do anything
The amount it wheelslip is atrocious… I know there’s a steep grade and heavy train, but the engineer was visibly not trying to stop it. A shame that they ran her like that
It's a six percent grade with a 190 class that has always been known for not the best traction on heavy grades. I know the engineer and he knows what he's doing and I guarantee he is working the throttle and sanding to try and minimize the slippage.
@@baldwinloco12 holy smokes that’s steep! I would have never figured that. From the views I got from the video it didn’t look like the engineer was being very responsive but my small window wasn’t enough to draw conclusions. Sorry
Maybe at Dollywood. They might could paint them in their original US army paint schemes. Who knows, maybe they could bring back the old Rebel Railroad southern 3 chime and the old Crosby for the doubleheader.
I can't help loving American steamies.
Me too. They just have a nice amount of character to them.

Is there steam leaking from her throttle?
I rode behind her on the 4th of July. Sadly her day didn't last long #192 then had some issues so the train stopped running.
Very cool. I liked when it had 490’s whistle
Oh yeah. I remember that. I wish I could have got some recordings of it.
Klondike Katie is the best steam engine I’ve ever rode

Air Compressor for the air brakes
Oh. Well that’s interesting. Also I wonder why US army steam locomotives often had indirect Walschaerts gear instead of regular Walschaerts gear?
Why does the 70 not have a spark arrester?
It already has one in its smokestack.
I hope to see 192 soon! I saw her sister 190 at Tweetsie's Opening Day.
Are her injectors positioned like 190’s for summer time use or protected when ran in Alaska for winter runs?

@@cwhuffman01 -70!?
How much 190 class locomotives were put into production?
There were thousands of these built, but only 11, numbered 190-20, went to Alaska.
I wounder where they all went, maybe scrapped
@@sfsbeast6319 most likely scrapped, fun fact #70's sister still works at the White Pass and Yukon railroad but its converted to oil firing
@@cwhuffman01 there is also 2 3ft 6 gauge survivors in Australia Zig Zag Railway has 218 the other is with Queensland Rail
Has anyone noticed the spark arrester is gone September 2018
If they have had alot of rain then they may be able to remove it as the fire risk would be less.

I would love to see 182 as a double header with 190 at tweestie railroad or dollywood
192 and 190 use to run together back in the late 50’s

192 WHEELSLIP
You should do more videos here
I would love to but I live way to far away to make it a regular thing.
This train looks very close to blowing mountain tweetie railroad 190 yukon queen
That's because it's a sister engine, it is virtually identical.
@@baldwinloco12 they also modified 192 during the Rebel Railroad era to resemble 190 at Tweetsie.
@@SouRwy4501Productions Yes, I'm aware.
Now this is a steam engine! Compare this to the ones at busch gardens williamsburg and you'll know what I mean.

Almost looks exactly almost like 190.
That's because it's 190's sister engine, they are pretty much identical engines.
I know. But they are both beautiful.
Am I the only one who thinks that 192 is pretty
You’re not the only one. I also think that she’s a very nice looking engine.
