@@oliverdadema The word you are looking for is *Mainland China* . This is also what most Chinese people use when referring to rest of China when discussing Hong Kong, Macau and/or Taiwan. And this is the same as how Americans refer to the Continental US versus Hawaii, Puerto Rico or Guam (or Metropolitan France, when speaking about Guadeloupe, French Guiana or other French territories). But you can't just repeatedly say 'I'm leaving China for Hong Kong', because it is simply FACTUALLY WRONG, regardless of various perceptions you or others may have.

In Hong Kong, I would like to remind you of some things:
Pay attention to vehicles on the road, traffic may be very congested
With less land and more people, prices will be relatively high.
The waiter may be quite busy
You can purchase an Octopus transportation card for taking the subway and bus
Morning tea and Dim sum are very delicious (I wonder if you have eaten them in Shenzhen)
    Love from Bilibili

The name in Chinese of High speed rail is Gaotie. Gaotie is only used at Mainland side, in Hong Kong, we still call it High Speed Rail.
Moreover, we are not frequently use the High Speed Rail to Shenzhen from Hong Kong. We usually use East Rail Line to Mainland. The cost is bit lower and it is still very convince to cross the border.

@@oliverdadema Come on. You're just playing with words here. You know it, I know it. 😅
Of course, I won't assume an European person would be so uninformed about 'overseas territories' and history of colonialism, and how separate customs/border controls work in the European context, which is very common.
Pretending to be uninformed and innocent and using it as an excuse to repeatedly bring up a factual error is not some cool witty thing to do, or worse, deplorable.... You know it full well, but I doubt you'd actually admit this game you're playing here.😒
Claiming to 'leaving' Europe when you only took a train from Paris to London or a bus from Ireland to Northern Ireland is simply dumb statement at best. 😅
Or maybe you're simply less educated than I initially expected. And that is ok.
