Yes it is. In the Ryukyu Kobujutsu system we have Tsukai Kata which is the practice of basics, followed by Hamahiga No Tonfa which is taught up to Shodan. Yaraguwa No Tonfa comes into the syllabus at Yondan level and is taught with Tonfa Demonstration application.
