Fred Gall & The Origins of One of New Jersey's Longest Standing Board Brands

- We met up with Fred Gall, Lou & Donny Binaco to discuss Metal, a skate brand they started in 1994 out of New Jersey that's still running today. Birthed from one too many acid trips, late night skate sessions, and a desire to start a no frills, evil skate company out of the East Coast, Metal is a part of skateboarding history often forgotten.

I'm a simple man. I see freddy, I watch.
Yes
youre so simple you repeat stupid sht like this. not an original bone in your body. i know you can do better.
We have been blessed this Monday. Ty Jenkem 🙏
Congrats on sobriety to Fred. Well done and you deserve it
Fred is a real G. One of my all-time favorites. I only wish this episodes were longer. Good sh*t regardless 🤘🤘🍻
Always love that they stayed true to where they’re from and skated raw street spots, not the skaters that only skated perfect ground. They skated what is in front of them and whatever can roll, that’s true heart for skateboarding & as a skateboarder, not just a person who rides a skateboard 💯❤️🔥💪🏾🙌🏾
Thank you for this. Proud asbury born and raised
My man 🤝
Jenkem once again putting out that good Woodbridge New Jersey content
Fred is a national treasure
Thanks Jemkem for another great feature
Fred rules, metal rules. More Fred please.
Thank you Jenkem
Happy you're sober G ollie that was dope
Man, the editing was really good.
thank you jenkem :)
I remember that company from 1995 or so. Along with AMPT glass. A filmer Tony Tomco and another scarecrow style skateboarder named Greg Cacoosa introduced it to us.
If you haven’t watched “Inhabitants” by habitat skateboards, I highly recommend that you do! It’s my favorite skate video of all time. Fred Gall has a sick part in it.
0:13 I drove through there so many times when I lived in Central NJ back in 90s, early 2000s.
Freddyyy!!!!! Still killin it. Shoutout to all the homies on Metal.
Lou metal looking young AF. Sick shit Donny, and uncle Freddy.

Fred Gall mean crusty spots! 😎
sobriety is the best give you could ever give yourself
dude I've seen that 'METAL GERM' tag so many fucking times, now I know
I FVCKING LOVE FRED GALL. THANK YOU FOR EXISTING MY DUDE.
I remember gall at brick skate park. He was 12 maybe 13. He was trying big spins on the pyramid and sucked. He would freak and throw his board like a maniac. Pre getz. Mike the jersey legend valley was there Olling from park to vert ramp. History happens when you don't even know. Fred's the best 👌. Skateboarding history forgets about jersey. Your welcome n.y and philli.mike v should have a rest stop on the parkway named after him ,fuck bon Jovi. MeTAL!
Longer videos please

Acid and skating hell yeah
Hell yeah! Love Fred Gall
I rode a metal back in the late 90's I bought it at Brothers Boards in ft Collins Co. To this day, I didn't know a lot about that brand. I remember I really liked the deck. It was really wide, I think between 8.25-8.75. I had a difficult time finding wide decks back then, as it was 7.5-7.75 was the trend back then! I'm so happy to have ridden a Metal deck! The graphic was an evil looking pope drinking blood from a grail
Fred is a g,I got a chance to hang out with him back in the day, great guy, mike from Florida delray beach
That SF liquid will send yo ass 🚀
🔥🤘💀🤘🔥
Legendary moment
Fred.
Wasn't there a scene in The Sopranos that was filmed in there or am I crazy?
Yeah, Asbury boardwalk. City by the Sea with DeNiro was filmed here as well.
Always good fun with his name in Norwegian over all these years: Fred = Peace - Gall = Hash (slang) :)
things you love to see
EPIC 🔥
Hell yeah
I think since they came up with designer acid it's prolly hard to find real acid.
false
@@cvltzilla But how do people know? I guess if you or your buddy was a chemist you'd know if and where and all that. I know I don't know.
Wooow dude has a lot of Gall
Heaven and hell acoustic!

anybody know where they get their boards made? Bro I skated a fred gall shovel shape and am not looking back. I'm highly intent on making boards with the same shape, but knowing their factory would help. Best fucking shape I've ever skated.

Peak skateboarding culture. No gay shit.
BA being a close friend of Fred and the fact that they gave him the most fabulously gay guest graphic of all time is gonna make you so mad 😂 love to see it.
@dadboard When he says Gay he’s not talking about homosexual. He’s talking about stupid shit like this comment
@@dadboard Weird that you enjoy sexualizing children…we’re gonna remember who you people are forever 😂😂😂
Ha... Not even New Jersey agrees with the statement that Jersey produces the best skaters. Most of them don't even stay in Jersey 😂😂 like people who drone on about Canada; yet America gets stuck with all their shitty celebrities.
