As a longtime resident of Chiang Rai, welcome. There really is so much to see up here. Hope you didn't miss our favorite restaurant just around the corner from the Blue Temple called Chivit Thamma Da. Might be a bit upmarket from what you are used to but the food, location and service are amazing. They even have real napkins which you previously stated as a pet peeve of yours.
Thanks, Randy! Actually we didn't do our first video until 8 months ago. Started the channel then just got things ready... My life is still 50% Chiang Mai and 50% San Diego County. Be well amigo.
Hello Randy & Joy I love your videos. They are so honest, real and refreshing. Please don’t stop. (Seems like I’ve heard that before.) But I’ve been reading a lot of negative things about the burning season. Many say it’s starting earlier and earlier. What do you do during the burning season? Please do a video on “ How to Survive the Burning Season in Chiang Mai;” if you move or visit Chiang Mai. Thanks RB
Thanks for the very nice comment. We did talk about the burning season in a few, most recently in some detail here: ruclips.net/video/x6aXSvDeESM/видео.html. The simple answer is most people leave for a while and go to the islands, a neighboring country, or wherever, such as back to their home country, and that is their annual vacation. Yes, I think sadly it is longer. People used to say it was 2 months, March and April but I'd say it is Feb, March and April and even signs of some smoke, but no smell a bit earlier or later.
Yes I was there October last year - it is very beautiful. My favourite of the three is the Black House, more particularly all the other Polynesian styled buildings scattered around the property.
Great video of a beautiful temple, if you're still in Chiang Rai check out this, we were there 3 weeks ago , spectacular view and scenery Fromm the top and they have a free shuttle to take you up to the top.Wat Huay Pla Kang: Goddess of Mercy Chiang Rai
Joy saw your comment before me and over breakfast said she'd been there once and enjoyed it so we are going to try to check it out today before we return to Chiang Mai this afternoon. Thanks for your always excellent comments.
You're welcome. Btw, attached to that temple the community or a sponsor built a modern hospital , a public one, free free apparently,it looks like a 5 syar public hospital adjacent to the temple. Amazing !@@RetiredGlobalLife
Loved the temples around Chiang Rai. When I was there we went to a purple temple also, but I can't remember the name of it. There is a sttep uphill to get to it. Had to lean over the front of my motorcycle because I thought it was going to go over backwards (it wasn't, but still felt hairy!).
I am guessing you mean Wat Phrathat Doi Khao Kwai. There is another hilltop temple near town on Doi In Cee with an equally entertaining road to the top.

Hey, you had me at real napkins! Thanks for the tip.
Wow. 1 year into U-Tubing & you already have 12k subs, congrats. Thanks for another top notch video. Randy, are you retiring to Chiang Mai?

Yes, great place.
I’d love to see you do a video on the white temple and black house too. Your videos have made me fall in love with Chiang Mai. ❤
Thanks, Jennifer. Actually, we did film both those locations and plan videos. It is just a matter of finding the time to edit them...
@@RetiredGlobalLife great! Looking forward to tuning in. You and Joy do such a great job. Thank you.

I can’t believe being two months in CM I missed this blue temple 😢
Well, Chiang Rai is a good three hour drive from CM, so most people don't make the trip.
@@RetiredGlobalLife yeah I spend two months there I should do it. In the contrary I visited so many beautiful temples..
That's beautiful!
Is the blue temple linked in some way to spiritual dimensions of water?
Not that I've read but it's a reasonable assumption so let's go with it! (:
