I like how you different Tubers are able to piece together different games that we've heard references to or also, never knew 2 or 3 scenarios were from the same game. Thanks. Good Work!
Kareem’s genuine level of admiration, and respect for Birds greatness is all I need to hear.. Kareem played everyone. Literally. Kareem thinks Birds the best. I’m not going to argue with him.
I consider Kareem the 2nd best player behind mj but just their stories about bird should validate bird as top 5 player even though he had some bad injuries to deal with and could still do what he did
He got to achieve something special and unique that hardly anyone else has ever done in organized team sports, and that's elevate an entire league and sport to worldwide heights of popularity, with his and Bird's personal and team rivalries
Magic and Birds friendship is how the end of ever life long battle/rivalry should end. With both side sitting together sharing their story with others together. The admiration, respect and love those two have for each other is perfect. Both gave everything they had to their teams they laid it all out on the court when it was all over they shake hands and say “now that was fun” and thank each other for expecting the other to come with everything every time!

There is just something about Bird saying I'm going to get the ball right here and shoot it in your face and you can't stop me, and then actually doing it. There is a reason one of his nicknames is Larry Legend.
Being from and living in Terre Haute, I was more privileged than most in that as a kid, I got to see every home game Larry played, every home and away game that 1979 season, and got to shoot with him multiple times as a kid at the Boys Club, where the team would come to and shoot around with us kids. The best time of my life.
Shit man, imagine being from bumfuck Indiana and considering yourself privileged because you got to shoot around with Larry in Boy’s Club. And to be clear I’m like 100% with you. Damn.
I went to Indiana State starting in 1977. Bird was a junior while I was a freshman. What heady times those were. Remember when Larry and the team were on the Captain Jack show? It was such a hoot.
Jason I guarantee you that we know each other especially from the Boys Club days. I went to Wilson then TH South , and Bob Heaton was a friend of the family as my dad Coached American Legion baseball in Brazil before we moved to TH, so l was usually at every home game at Hulman Center and remember The Harry (Morgan) and Larry show? '78 season? One night at the Boys Club we were getting ready to practice and we lowered the backboard down to 9' and when Larry Carl Nicks and Bob Heaton came into the gym we were dunking and they stopped and said WTH... Larry knew immediately what was going on and went straight under the rim and called for a ball, and he stood flat footed and reached up and pretty much dunked it and he had the biggest smile on his face. The good ole days, even went to Camp Gulick up in Turkey Run i always looked forward to the "Big Canoe trip" down Sugar Creek
As a kid growing up in Indiana and an IU fan a bit younger than Larry, even I was amazed at his career. My heart broke for him losing that game in the NCAA final. But man did he just make amazing play after amazing play in the NBA. I was blessed to have witnessed it. Bird and Magic were truly the golden age of the NBA.
Larry didn’t have much help from his game teammates. The Sycamores tried but we’re just in over their heads. I believe Michigan St. had 3 players into the NBA. With the Celtics he had a ton of help as did Magic.
You are correct fellow Hoosier. Though a boiler up fan I’m with ya! Those two in fact not only saved the nba, hat retirement of a top great will never be seen again. I remember as a little kid sitting in our farmhouse living room waiting on the game to start. That excitement couldn’t be compared to any other time. The best starting five the nba witnessed.
Never been a professional sports fan but still knew about the legend Larry Bird. After learning about his story thru videos like this what he accomplished is nothing short of amazing. Many times I would say "Man! we lost this game" and at the last several seconds later he would score and usually a 3 point goal to win the game. Larry a bad man. “I said we but I meant you” that’s a nice burn from a true leader. In the moment, even if he thought he played well, Larry ripped everyone to keep the team spirit together. It may have been at a low point but it was together.

Thanks for posting...great throwback memories of one of the greatest eras in basketball. I forgot how awesome those CBS Televeison intros were, they used to get you so pumped up....! Later on NBA on NBC had some good intros too. ABC/ESPN treats their NBA games like they're just another one of the billion sporting events they cover. Back then watching an NBA game was an Event!
Thought I had seen every Bird vid in existence, x10... Thanks for this. Celts fan since Birth. 86 Celts and my senior year were concurrent. Got to see, from The Bud Skybox, Bird sitting in a very Eighties sweater due to injury ( my only NBA game, radio contest winner) Larry truly is John Wick.
My favorite… that early 80’s Celtics teams got me into basketball. I don’t care about GOAT debates or whatever and there were some many greats at that time. Bird was a tough, unique player.
A few suggestions for stories: Yao Ming, Dennis Rodman, Shawn Kemp, Bill Walton, Patrick Ewing, or Dikembe. I love these videos, so thank you for putting them together!
Bird is a savage! He’s the kinda guy that if he were in the Military he’d be the scariest Special Operator in history and probably found a way to earn 3 Medals of Honor.
Very well done video! Like going back into a time machine when the NBA was exciting, memorable, watchable, and the stuff of legend, like Larry. The highest compliment I can pay Bird is that he reminds me of myself. Am I joking? Maybe.
Which player would we all like to see next? I think I speak for everyone when I say we want to see more Larry Bird stories. Bring on "Larry Bird stories Part 125" 🤣
You can control any player physically or you can trash talk him and control him mentally ... But you can't control a player who played the game by his brain .. Bird was a nightmare a true legend
Just by luck when i was born...i was just gettting into hoops and playing when bird got drafted....and thank the lord my father was a celtic fan so we'd watch and I was allowed to stay up late and watch the playoffs...even there there was school....I'll never see any sporting events as entertaining as the NBA from 79/80 thru early 90's. Because i notice that some people always forget some players who got injured, and got placed on the what if category. But when he was active, he was a monster, just like my favorite Tracy McGrady.
Thanks so much! I’ll eventually do Grant Hill for sure
@@NickSmithNBA i'll definitely watch that for sure. I shared some of your videos to my friends and they liked it too. I'm pretty sure a lot of basketball fans out there loves and appreciate your videos. 🙂
@@mjcaillan7018 Very kind! Glad you and your friends enjoy the videos. Means a lot 🙏
Got to see, from The Bud Skybox, Bird sitting in a very Eighties sweater due to injury ( my only NBA game, radio contest winner)
Larry truly is John Wick.
Great video
Bird would avg 30+ points in today's league. He'd be MVP multiple seasons.
And win championships.
LOVE this episode!
Great video! Excellent!
I'm looking forward to #5 whenever that may be 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much! Super glad you enjoyed it. Might be time for a new player but I'm sure part 5 will come eventually!
The greatest complement in the world is being told by all of your peers that “you can back your trash talk up”
Amazing research and editing, the time and effort put into the video is very clear to see. A very enterntaining 38 mins, thank you.
Much appreciated!
My favorite… that early 80’s Celtics teams got me into basketball. I don’t care about GOAT debates or whatever and there were some many greats at that time. Bird was a tough, unique player.
I am not an NBA fan , but these videos about Larry bird are great !!
MJ, Dr.J, Kareem, all the legends have stories of Larry legend. He needs a solo series like winning time.
So glad I grew up watching Bird play. Best of the best
Man… you hear the dedication and perseverance and it is humbling. The story of his work ethic is amazing. He learnt that from his dad and mom
I super appreciate your videos, your time, and talent. I hope you enjoy what you do and thank you for the great content fr🤙
My pleasure! Love what I do. Really appreciate the kind words.
Love these tributes to Bird. I know back pain and surgeries. He’s amazing. I could never be that strong.
What can I say... Larry was magic 🎩
So was Earvin, heh heh
@@monolithgeometry3221 Absolutely. That rivalry was one of the best because they were two of the best players in the game.
One of the best videos on Larry, and there are 4 in total? Wow, amazing! I remember as a kid wearing out the larry legend vhs
Next level work brother, the research alone is incredible. Thank you.
Bird was so great he had talent to spare . He could make any player on his team look like a superstar.
He had a spare hand to play🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the bird videos
Glad you enjoy man!
I grew up watching and emulating Larry Bird with my game. Great video and thanks for doing it. Love the memories.
I could listen to Larry Bird stories everyday.
A few suggestions for stories: Yao Ming, Dennis Rodman, Shawn Kemp, Bill Walton, Patrick Ewing, or Dikembe. I love these videos, so thank you for putting them together!
Absolutely Fantastic
Hockey fan here… but loving these Bird stories… respect for all these nba goats
Never get tired watching Bird!
Agreed, some of the stories are hilarious
Thank you for sharing this = some great unseen footage here!
I've been binging these compilations; they're really great to watch.
Also, I'd love to see one for Ginobli.
Thanks so much. One day I'll do Manu for sure!
Gaaaaah I hated Ginoboli!!! He was too fucking good.
GINOBLI fuck yeah!
Maybe.
Bird is the word. I went to school in Boston while he was there.
Bird is my all time favorite , Celtic fan
I was a fan in the 80's. LEGEND!
If Bird played in this unphysical game today, he would still be the GOAT!
Glad to see Mr. Larry Bird is getting more respect & recognition for the great player he is. Underrated for sure, even with all the mvps he won.
Which player would we all like to see next? I think I speak for everyone when I say we want to see more Larry Bird stories. Bring on "Larry Bird stories Part 125" 🤣
I love your channel!! Keep up the good work and dedication. Please do Tyrone "Muggsy" Bogues.
I’m not even a basketball fan, but these videos are great!
I watch Bird when i young(not a fan of basketball) the more i hear Bird the more i like him!
You can control any player physically or you can trash talk him and control him mentally ... But you can't control a player who played the game by his brain .. Bird was a nightmare a true legend
Larry was shut down in many games.
Thank you Larry for bringing the lunch Pale every night!
Another great video! Thank you for your continued efforts. I’ll check your other video out for sure. Cheers 🍻🍻
Thanks so much!!
Acclaiming that Bird is the GOAT is so hard for some people. They can’t get past what they see.
There’s one thing people don’t realize about Larry, and that’s his size, and he doesn’t look the part.. but having met him a few years ago., I can tell you.. HES A BIG DUDE !
First time seeing you're channel and it's awesome, and being from Boston it was a treat to watch thank you
Great video my man!
Glad you liked it!
What fantastic stuff you have done.
larry legend---the ultimate competitor
i’d love to see a hakeem olajuwon story because he is one of the best centers and he has great stories about him
Hey, that was a super cool video. Excellent work you really put a lot in your production.
