One of my childhood games, I had it on GameCube (Though, it was ONLY on GameCube in the US, while PAL territories also had a PS2 and Xbox version as well). I mostly remember the Paintball section in the tutorial stage.
I love this game. My sister introduced me to this game when I was maybe 10 or 12 years old. We have it on GameCube and it's become one of my favorite games to play. I've actually made it a tradition to play this not at Christmas, but whenever I get done tracking severe weather in my area. Same goes with the Die Hard movies. Every time I get done tracking bad weather, I watch each of the movies, even the Die Hard battery commercial. Even watching this video was a lot of fun. So many moments in the video that got me laughing😂🤣. You guys are so much fun to watch.
Die Hard IS a Christmas movie. Because if it wasn’t Christmas, the movie wouldn’t have happened. The movie needed it to be Christmas. Just being set at Christmas doesn’t make it a Christmas movie.
Oh this one! I pkayed it on the GC, and the memories boils down to booting it up, watching the first cutscene and going "Oh. Why does Bruce Willis look like my dad?!"
Die hard is more of a Christmas movie than home alone. John mclane is only at the tower because he's there for the Christmas party and to see his kids as seemly the only way he would come is a special occasion. Christmas plays zero part in home alone and it could have taken place at any time of the year.
Yes, I agree, that Home Alone could've been set anywhere, anytime. But Die Hard is definitely a Christmas movie. It's set during Christmas, it's a festive movie, and the way the bad guy dies at the end, was the most Christmas type way for an action movie set during Christmas to end. With an awesome explosion. I've seen every Die Hard movie(except 5, because no way would I do that to myself or to anyone really). But I do love the other 4 Die Hard movies. Even the 4th one. Should've just brought Al back for the 5th one...
Finally a game on this series that ive actually played. I remember this not living up to expectations but I still enjoyed getting through it. It's the gaming equivalent of watching a crappy action film on tv but still enjoying it somehow.
Dick Thornburg is the "dickless" guy who reports on, and gets in the way of, the misadventures of John McClane. For instance, he exposes the plane hijacks in Die Hard 2, that they're trying to keep quiet about. ;P He has a twin brother who works for the Environmental Protection Agency in New York. ;P
Maybe he just likes playing cops? I mean he does a great job being in both Die Hard With A Vengeance, and Family Matters, and playing a cop. He does really well. They should've brought Al back for Die Hard 5.
I always enjoy the Christmas die hard debate and would like to also give special mention to lethal weapon and the long kiss good night. Both also excellent “Christmas” action films. That is all.
I enjoyed this game when it came out. I replayed it a few years ago, and it was hard a hell, but it had a lot going for it. Too bad they didn't do the tutorial there's a cool arrest system in the game.
Blasphemy! I had this on ps2 and 11 year-old me battled having no idea what was going on and random nonsense to complete half of it before using cheats
loved your review, thank you. the development of the game reflects the final product. yes we had no idea what we were doing... but we did have fun making it. :)
You can watch any movie at Christmas time but that doesn’t make it a “Christmas movie”. I used to watch all of the bonds when they were on the tele over break, so my family associates them with Christmas.
Oh, cool. Glad to see Reginald "Family Values/Matters Died Hard", Veljohnson, doing other things. And while we're still talking about "Family Matters", it was one of the best tv shows ever made.
I had this game i think i got bored of it though , i have a contender of weirdest game ever have you played Small Soldiers on ps1 i would not say its the worst I've played but its definitely weird
Hey TripleJump! Greetings from Canada! Love your videos. Haven't seen a Worst to Best video in a while. I think Mega Man would be interesting. Hope to see it in the near future. Keep up the great work.
"Hostage situations with multiple outcomes".... You mean they either survive or they don't.... ...I mean, I surpose they didn't lie but I also thats just a hostage situation.
I always enjoy these videos! Have watched them in very sporadic order. Out of curiosity’s sake, have they ever ended up enjoying a game they played for this series?
I loved this game! I got it after playing Goldeneye Rogue Agent om the Gamecube. I remember prefering this. Kinda goofy game that didn’t take itself too seriously
Yeah, especially, the part where he gets shot, and falls over, and the words "Objective Failed", show up onscreen. Great cameo. Carl Winslow's a pretty great actor, glad to know he was in the "Die Hard: With A Vengeance" film/game, which if I remember, is the 3rd film? And maybe this is unpopular, but I liked the 4th film, because it least wasn't the 5th one...that one was BAD. Probably because it DIDN'T have Al-Carl Winslow in it...probably.
Already I take issue with this, because in the movies he insists on being called Richard Thornburg. Other characters only call him “Dick” as an insult.
Calling this one of the worst games is so confidently incorrect. This was a genuinely fun game. The mechanics were fun af for the time. The multiple outcomes blew Mt mind as a kid. This was a big game as a pre teen.
For the crime of shooting Al Peter must be immediately executed. On the plus side with John dead hopefully the antagonist will decide they don't need to shoot anyone else. Also what idiot thought Assigning Lucy McLane anywhere near this event, or hell even having her on duty during the event could possibly be a good idea?
How on earth can it be rated as high as 82% & a low of 25%? I have seen worse FPS but this is a 4/10 for me. Thank you for the entertaining review guys 👍🏼
So that game was only Die Hard in the West. It's original Japanese title is Dynamite Deka, which got a sequel on Dreamcast (known as Dynamite Cop in the West). Outside of scaling a large skyscraper, and shoehorning John McClane into it, it wasn't very Die Hard at all. Still great fun.
It is, but other than its hideous looks (even by 2002’s low standards) it’s the kind of game you have to play to see how terrible it really is. If not for the Die Hard license I’d assume it was a Simple 2000 game.
@@Spacething7474 It’s horrible. Maybe if I’d been a little kid when it came out and was blinded by nostalgia for it I’d have a different take, but this came out like six weeks after Timesplitters 2. Like, imagine playing through Timesplitters 2 and then picking up Die Hard: Vendetta right after. Because that’s exactly what I did 20 years ago, and it amazed me that two games in the same genre made at the same time for the same system could be so wildly different in quality.
If you want another terrible Die Hard game try "Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza". Another Vivendi Universal/Sierra published first-person shooter game for Windows PCs, and released in 2002. Recounting many of the events in the first film.
Not the biggest fan, but I prefer it over Die Hard 4 & 5. A much better sequel at heart, but a mediocre presentation of one. Not completely awful, but not great. 6/10.
Never thought I’d be in the camp of “I had this game and I loved it, it’s not a worst game!” and yet, here we are…
Same
I fucking loved this game
I liked it too. I just hated the instant mission failed without warning
I enjoyed this on the gamecube, I did not enjoy bad boys 2 on ps2 though
@@Boogie_the_cat What the heck is wrong with Nintendogs?
Peter: I've only seen the first two Die Hard Movies.
Also Peter: *Quotes Die Hard With a Vengeance*
Has anyone else noticed that the google doodle for today is celebrating Alan Rickman?
Quite a coincidence, but a coincidence none the less ~
Cant believe you went through the whole episode without using the "slow motion, blaring classical music" mode.
One of my childhood games, I had it on GameCube (Though, it was ONLY on GameCube in the US, while PAL territories also had a PS2 and Xbox version as well).
I mostly remember the Paintball section in the tutorial stage.
My dad was a huge Die Hard fan and got this game to play with me. So many memories
John DieHard would be so ashamed of this
Peter: I've only seen die hard 1 and 2 maybe once in my life.
Also Peter: quotes die hard with a vengeance perfectly 😅
I love this game. My sister introduced me to this game when I was maybe 10 or 12 years old. We have it on GameCube and it's become one of my favorite games to play. 5:37 Very disappointed Ben and Peter missed the obvious ‘Alan Rickboy’ joke when talking about Gruber Jr. Shame on you, boys!
I mean, he looks about the same age as his dad, so, he is a Rickman. That begs the question of how fast do they age?
Die Hard IS a Christmas movie. Because if it wasn’t Christmas, the movie wouldn’t have happened. The movie needed it to be Christmas. Just being set at Christmas doesn’t make it a Christmas movie.
Oh this one! I pkayed it on the GC, and the memories boils down to booting it up, watching the first cutscene and going "Oh. Why does Bruce Willis look like my dad?!"
I loved this game man seeing it as worst games ever hurts 😂
Also...the GC version had the odd honour of being one of the first games to be on a Nintendo console to have F-Bomvs uncensored
The Australian release of Diddy Kong Racing on N64 had multiple F and C bombs

Interesting how the cop from Die Hard goes on to play the cop from Family Matters.
Maybe he just likes playing cops? I mean he does a great job being in both Die Hard With A Vengeance, and Family Matters, and playing a cop. He does really well. They should've brought Al back for Die Hard 5.

They’re not necessarily the worst games, they’re just worse than most.

The graphics impressed me at the time on the GameCube. I didn't mind it. It was no Die Hard trilogy but it did something.
I like what they did with "Hen News," as in Fox among the Hens lol.
this game is fun on the gamecube, feels like ur playin an episode of cops. feels as if the gamecube graphics r better then the ps2 ver too
Sorry lads, I'm a few of these behind, so only just seen this one. This tickled me quite a lot 😂 really enjoyed this one!
It honestly doesn't seem that bad considering how long ago it was made.
9:31 That is the actual Reginald “Family Matters Die Hard” Veljohnson, complete with likeness. He currently does voices on Adult Swim shows.
Oh, cool. Glad to see Reginald "Family Values/Matters Died Hard", Veljohnson, doing other things. And while we're still talking about "Family Matters", it was one of the best tv shows ever made.
I love how America does use the metric system, but only for gun calibers!
Should have played the Game Cube version
John Die Hard was my hero growing up. I can't believe these guys didn't appreciate his epic video game.
18:41 possibly James' cleverest editing joke yet.

But but this game was so good on GameCube! How dare thee! The GameCube was a far superior version, this was a broken port. 😤
I am probably the only girl on this planet that likes this game. I love the banter the NPCs give you when you talk to them lol.
I dont think gender matters here. You're the only PERSON. lol

This would've been much better as a port of Die hard Arcade. That game was so great.
It is difficult to fathom that this is on the same platform as MGS2.
Carl Winslow's cameo was great.
