Does it get any more magical and surrealistic than painting a place called Snowdonia? It even sounds like a made up magical kingdom. They certainly put her through the paces, and she delivered. Bravo, Ophelia!
I got a little teary when it was unveiled! Lovely! 💖 They picked such a wonderful artist and her name is poetic as the landscape place name. It’s just beautiful! ✨🖌️
This show is such a win win for everyone and now all those beautiful final commissions in so many wonderful places too becoming part of a new heritage. 💖
When winning doesn't feel quite like winning. I felt they put her under so much pressure to produce that painting for the National Trust. Painting was wonderful, well done!
Ophelia Redpath seems such a lovely woman! It's been a pleasure watching her exploring this beautifully scenic part of Wales! Her painting is indeed wonderful!!!
This was the first series of #LAOTY that I watched and I was rooting for Ophelia all the way through. She was my favorite from the very beginning, with the surrealist magic of her work. I am so glad she won, because her style matched the commission perfectly. Snowdonia felt like a fairytale in her hands. Beautiful.
What a lovely color palet and a very sensual way of expressing the feeling of a landscapes. And a lovely Oil color technique - its a very fascinating, dreaming painting 🎵💜🎶🦄
What an extraordinary painting!! And the colouring was unexpected ... I felt transported to the 1930s ... just stunning. Ophelia's originality ... was it Kate who said; "I want to go live in her world!" I feel the same. Brava!
Discovered LAOTY on RUclips during 2020 pandemic. After watching almost all of them, this final commissioned painting is the only one moves me to tears. I wholeheartedly wish one day I would be able to see the original art and visit Snowdonia in Wales.
I love it! She’s painted a stunning magical land scape with lots of the surrounding areas she walked and sketched. The colours and the variation of the view, flowers, mountains, sea and the beautiful owl swooping on the amazing landscape is a real joy. We’ll done xxx
This woman is living my dream I am an artist I love Jazz and classical I draw by these two forms. I see myself in her I live with my sister but I am working on getting my own place but she lives like I want too. This woman makes me happy. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
It is truly the "heather" that makes her painting - oh, so glad she put so much in. I loved it when she walked through it, pointing it out. The colours in the whole painting are magical, but the "heather" is true to its colour.
It’s such an adventure to follow the process, meditative walking, sketching, becoming part of all the adventures of the landscape - it’s such an adventure of sharing the mystery of experience of nature, the sublime and enigmatic of wilderness, nature, man and creatures 🎶🖤🎵
Obviously a very accomplished and sound painting, Im a little confused by the weather in it though, seemed almost tropical. Anyway, well done to the winner.
Her finished work produced an emotional reaction. I have visited London, but not this specific site. So beautifully rendered! Ophelia captured the essence of this beautiful landscape.
It is beautiful 😍 wow 🤩 She painted beautifully I love it how she did this Art It was excellent 👏👏👏👏👏 Thank you for sharing great video Learning every time watching 🎨🖌😍👋💕
At first I thought this a cruel comment, but now I see what you mean. I think it’s the happy holiday palette that lets her down. A pity because I think her a most accomplished artist and a charming, intelligent person.
Why do you not write the name of the artist, Ophelia Redpath and maybe if possible add some links to her Work - she is indeed a very special artist and I would like to follow her Work ❤️
I think there have been SEVERAL requests for all Homes to put the year and episode on videos,so we can better follow the sequences of the videos. Am missing where this information or if it is not there, what is the problem with All Homes adding it, or perhaps some of the viewers could provide this information to the uploaded (bless the uploaded!)
Just a comment about Fanny (I think it was) who gave away the 4 and a half acres. I think he meant to say she was a philanthropist but he said she was a flagellist who is some who ministers punishment by whipping, usually themselves.
Kathleen Soriano is a knowledgeable art historian but she is not a good judge for this program because she is always making vaguely disparaging, or vaguely sarcastic comments to the participants. She is an expert at "left-handed encouragement", e.g. "Oh, I hope this inspired you or I hope you`re not running out of time or I liked your earlier version, etc, etc". The program would benefit from a more positive, encouraging attitude. Does she realize how difficult and stressful it is to "compete" against other artists?
26:50 I fail to understand how a person can be in a place of such pure natural beauty and then casually rinse all of their toxic paints straight into the river. And how contradictory when you consider the values she expresses at 33:59. Disappointing.

Oh I do like it! The bird added just the right touch to make it magickal.
The landscape is superb and also the cameraman catches the perfect places in perfect frame!

Just fabulous.
Thank you for this art video makes me a great and happy artist.
Good thing that she likes to hike and is in good health
She did a great job. I like that it is in her style, but did not put a too surreal twist on it.
That's just awesome!
Beautiful
The final looks like the travel posters created by the railroad to attract tourists to the American West.

Artista eccezionale e il p. rogramma è meraviglioso
I did not appreciate her cleaning her instruments in the pristine stream of water. What was she thinking? DA
Ty😊
Bravissima Ophelia !.

Funny eh?
fanny + whipping = ouch
No, Fanny @@jillsmiley7701

👍
The shower scene proves Tommy does more that just shower at 24 hr fitness.

I lost all respect for her when she washed her palette off in the stream.
To be honest the painting fills me with dread and doesn’t capture the mood of the actual place at all
Looks cartoony...
