Definitely tube. If I wanted a magfed springer, I'd use something else. The advantage of keeping your blaster pointed and ready to fire with the ability to constantly reload is amazing especially on defence scenarios.

One thing I'd like to also mention is loadout set up for your shotgun, because it's highly unlikely you'd be running with a shotgun in a nerf war by itself.
The mag fed shotgun would be excellent for a run and gunner as Walcom said, but mags mean another thing you have to accommodate in your loadout, on top of the shells. A few minutes in, and you'll find yourself wanting a magazine carrier or side pack to carry your magazine, which means additional funds and more bulk. With A tube fed shotgun, you can just fill your pockets with shells, have bullet loops in your belt or sling, or velcro on some saddles on your shotgun for shells. Less bulk and cheaper (or free, if you can DIY it) compared to mags.
In my opinion, external box mags in shotguns are best for fast action matches where it's blasting off until the end and you can sustain it for that long, whole tube feds are for longer plays where you can afford to be methodical and need fewer things on your person to manage.
I would love to see a future mod which allows you to use both the box mag and the internal magazine. That way if you've emptied your mag, you can quickly pull the whole assembly out and keep running with the internal mag.

For me it has always been tube fed no matter what shotgun it is I know magazines are supposed to afford you a hire mag capacity but I just like the look of a tube

Mags are technically better. But if you are using shells, you probably care about cool more.

Here is what I do, I got two fireflies, one is tube fed, one is mag fed. And the meg fed one I've changed it look completely to an assult rifle, so nothing reminds again, it was a fed-tube shotgun. Adult don't choose, just have them all, lol

The only upgrade I'm still dying for is a SPAS type, top folding stock for the Firefly! I want to be able to do the "Clever girl" scene with this blaster.
I've ordered one a couple days ago. how long does order payment processing take and how long does shipping take usually? I got 2 packs of shells and the extended magazine tube and barrel for mine
@person-lh7nr when I ordered mine a long time ago, it took 11 days to arrive at my door East Coast, US. Ordered a downgrade spring from Texas after and that took 3 weeks and one day to arrive.
I'm a tube guy myself, but I appreciate there being options on the same basic platform.

0:26 Tube is better for Pump Action while Mag fed is better for Select-Fire and Semi-Auto shotguns, but that's just my opinion.
Either way, so long as you can slam-fire it I guess it doesn't matter much beyond how long you want your reloads to take.
Ok, now I actually need a Firefly. I kind of want two, one with the magazine and one with the extended tube. I know they aren’t the most practical blaster, but look like so much fun.
Take Overkill perk, use two shotguns.

I vote tube-fed cause I have enough things with mags. BTW the pink & white threaded barrels are back in stock on MM! Just bought myself one. Love my pink & white Firefly, Walcom, kudos.
Honestly a tube magazine would be better as you can then load in the next round you would like . For example, if you are doing cqb with buckshot but a player is too far away then you can load in a slug, cycle the round and you now have it, with a box magazine you have to load a new magazine so it has to be tube magazine for me

Another blaster to add to a long purchase list of things I missed since I've been gone...
I love the tube fed setup too much on my firefly, so my main takeaway is that I need to get myself that folding stock for mine. Currently using the worker AK stock and that is just too long.
IMO I prefer the spring thunder just for the sheer versatility
100% this. I much prefer my blaster to have the actual versatility of a shotgun, being able to fire almost every type of ammo in the hobby except for the heaviest caliber stuff like MXL and Rockets.
As opposed to it just looking like a shotgun, and only firing one dart, or tiny balls that you're highly more likely to lose inside, let alone outside... My ST can do everything this can, and is much more easily repairable via printing and or online parts. That and there's a number of DMR's that can do exactly what the Firefly can but with greater capacity and more utility...
For me shotguns serve more of a utility secondary rather than a dedicated primary. Tube filled with shotgun rounds and then a belt with every kind of round you would need. Need a slug? pop one in the tube then rack. need a hard tip dart to make the cheater call their hit? pop one in the tube and rack. only time i think id even consider using a mag is if monkeemods makes an AEB that uses the shells
For practicality and capacity, definitely the magazine. But if your going for the authentic shotgun-feel for fun, then the tube.
honestly, I prefer the tube-fed. Most springers just feel too similar nowadays so whenever something like the tube-fed version or the tomcat exists I am more incline to buy it.

Now you have to load and manage both the shells AND the magazines lol. The biggest benefit of the shells is being able to top up the tube magazine whenever. Put those shells in a magazine now you have the benefits of a talon magazine, but the drawbacks using both shells and magazines.
Except for the very obvious fact that shells can hold multiple projectiles, which a Talon Magazine doesn't.
Shell-ejecting always puts fun and cool factor first, and then multiple ammunition types

Now I want to take standard Firefly and instead of a pump grip, add a frickin' piston or something to have a semi auto tube fed nerf shotgun. I have seen an electric toy shotgun that shoots darts, but 200 dollars seems ridiculous considering the colors might get it taken by customs.
If you want to look cool and do tricks use the tube fed but for fast reloading and you are using it for a more tactical use use the magazine fed but I prefer tube fed as it is so fun to use and do tricks with

You're paying stupid amounts to send FoamAmmo toward opponents, if you even have any opponents in your area. The LAST thing most people would probably wanna deal with, is the absolutely annoying requirement of shells. If shells are involved, they need to be alot less of a requirement. Stuff like m40 AtLeast makes a variety of shells to allow a variety of AmmoTypes. The actual amount of appeal for the featured UpGrade, is not very broad.

My opinion on magazine shotguns remains unchanged, you can't swap out your ammo quickly and you can't top up on the fly with a mag shotgun.
I’m sorry. External box mags are cool and all, but I am a internal magazine enjoyer through and through.
Hey I bought a cornal wasp 76 and I glued in the tub magazine barrel but when I too it out it doesn't fully seat so now I can't use the tube magazine
I can't load in the shells because the barrel won't fully seat
You'd have to either hopefully be able to clean out the barrel/magazine holder so you can fully seat the piece again, or buy a new one. It has to push all the way in.

That's basically a Kel-Tec KSG-12, and that is something I wanna have in the hobby.
If we're going for multi-tube pump action, let's go bonkers with 4 barrels and two dual stage triggers! Something like the Phantasm movie shotgun.
