I have decided to do yet another defunct company from the United States, and that is the one founded by the legendary animators themselves.
Ruby-Spears Productions was an American animation company based in Burbank, California, founded in 1977 by veteran writers and Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! creators Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. They had another branch in Rome, Italy. Their library was sold to Turner Broadcasting System, which in turn merged with Time Warner in 1996, and the Ruby-Spears studio closed in the same year after 19 years of operation. Joe Ruby and Ken Spears both passed away in 2020 within three months of each other. Joe Ruby was 87, and Ken Spears was 82.

Craig Ruby and Kevin Spears will carry on their fathers' work. Of course, both men can enlist Michael Wahl, late of Gunther-Wahl Productions as well as Allen Bohbot, president of 41 Entertainment and a possible financial benefactor for Ruby-Spears. They can utilize Jack Kirby's leftover artwork with his daughter Lisa as a consultant. Craig and Kevin can still talk to the Krofft family about involving themselves in Kirby's leftover artwork, too. Joe Ruby and Ken Spears would be proud of their sons for carrying on the Ruby-Spears name!!!
