Ralf I know you don't want Lewis to beat your brother record and being the one and only 8 time world champion.. but saying that makes a hater big time. And I am a Michael Schumacher fan.

I think this years season was awesome. Don't care who wins, dont care for the drama off the track, just want good racing...and I think we got it! Thank you drivers! Love the channel!
Race of the year was Brazil for me. That whole weekend was just bananas in an epically F1 way! Checo (while wisely taking a knee for now) had the overtake of the year in Vegas with the three (Lawson and K-Mag I believe where the other two in that crowd) alongside and Checo winning the pass. FIA stamped good on the flexi wing arms race and I love it! Do I think the McLaren "come on it was just the tips" rear wing was legal...no, but does it matter what I think...nope!
The bigger risk might be for RB. If Yuki is gone in 2026 (probable), and Max leaves RB early if the car isn't fast (possible), RB are going to have a driver issue and are definitely going to have invest in developing the newbies rather than binning them, but will also mean they are in the wilderness for some years to yet back to WCC.

5:46 Genuine question here. Why exactly would the team NOT set up the car for each specific driver?! All this talk about how this one likes a car setup for understeer & the other one, the opposite. Why wouldn't a team want the car to suit the driver behind the wheel? It seems to me that since these are one-off prototypes, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. Edit: I do realize that you said "build". My question remains. Edit2: Good answer.
Fastest car = oversteer Anyone who needs a stable rear end is going to hold back the team from building the fastest car if the team favours that drivers style. Charles doesn’t need a stable rear end, so if Ferrari build a car for Lewis’ style they are limiting their own car performance as a result, and that’s not a smart thing to do.
Lower Serik forgive me I can’t remember he’s name fully the head of the aero department who helped Lewis with he’s winning car was also against the changes zero sidepod is going to Ferrari with Lewis . You would’ve thought Bono would be going after their relationship was meant to be so good.
It’s a very easy question to break down about best drive of the year. Lewis drive was great because he hadn’t won in so long and so his fans felt emotional at his Comeback. But if you look at it hands on, he went from p2 to p1 with his teammate DNF due to engine failure max however went from p17 to p1 and won by 20 seconds. There is no debate over what was the best drive. Max schooled the grid that day and made the others look like amateurs
Race of the Year: Brazil. SIlverstone was beautiful and emotional, absolutely, but Brazil is on another level. The difficulty, the skills, starting from the back of the grid, no mistakes, plus a bonkers Alpine 2-3 that no one saw coming. It was definitely the most unpredictable race, no one could have seen Max winning from the back of the grid AND an Alpine double podium. Overtake of the Year: Liam. Overtook Lewis AND Alonso in one move. That's a rookie overtaking 9 world championships! And yeah, the Mercedes and Aston aren't good, but the VCARB was worse still! Checo also had a good one in I think Vegas, and I think he overtook three cars, but Liam had less experience, passed two WDC champions, and did so in an inferior car, so in my book that's more impressive. Team of the Year: Haas. McLaren made a ton of strategic mistakes, especially in the early and middle of the season. Ferrari had a few errors, BUT their big one was screwing up their upgrade which severely hurt their performance in the mid-season. Haas may seem like a joke, but they constantly improved throughout the season. I don't think that they put one foot wrong except maybe a messed up strategy or bad pitstop here or there. I won't mark them off as harshly for errors as the top teams, because they aren't a top team and they improved A TON. Driver of the Year: Max. I like Lando, but he underperformed a lot in the best car (to the point where it became not just one, but multiple memes!), while Max outperformed a💩car and managhed to win the championship, something that has NEVER been done in a car that fell off that hard, that early on in a season. Happy New Year!
If Lewis couldn't give back technical feedback, why was he right about what Merc should have done to make the 2023 car a winner? From what I remember, the engineers didn't listen to him...
To add on that: M. shumacher was a phenomenal driver, he used to spend nights in the garage trying to figure out ways to make the Ferrari faster. Going into 2022 we saw Lewis take the same stand. He took all the set ups to test them on a car that was terrible - Zero pod era. His analysis was quite clear, many of the parts had to change including the seating position and the entire concept. Merc engineers told him to F off. An entire episode on Drive To Survive is dedicated to this! Ferrari never told Schumi to F off. This is where Ralph is mistaken.
@@Slipstream_merchant And you saw them claim 4 race wins which is my main point. Had they developed this concept last year they would have been far better for this year. Talent wise, Michael and Lewis ain't on the same planet. Lewis is the far superior driver. They're not in the same class. It's like F1 and GP2. Michael was overrated, take that from a German.
SLH (Shelf Life Hamilton) again? Gosh, that dude is old news... let's look forward to the future, lads. 2025 is the year of the rookies! Teams are scrambling to find the next best thing since none of the drivers on the grid in 2024 could hold a candle to the SuperM4X that is Verstappen.
Cameron, I get it from Ralf. Completely disagree, but I get it. Ultimately, however much Ralf consciously tries to approach discussing Lewis objectively, he will never be able to because Lewis and his (Lewis) record is a "contrasting" (your use of this word is appropriate) narrative to Michael Schumacher’s legacy at Ferrari. Ralf (as expected and he should) will always fiercely defend his brother and his legacy. While Michael Schumacher’s legacy is not and will never be under threat (his legendary status is beyond assured and unquestioned) the potential for Lewis at Ferrari is something not to be underestimated nor dismissed out of hand. Ralf knows that, but I think (unfortunately) his way of confronting that is to routinely throw rocks at Lewis and underestimate his potential. However, Ralf still has a point in that Lewis (for his own legacy) needs to improve his qualifying significantly, get back to routinely winning and answer the “challenge” who is Charles Leclerc (as Charles knows he has to do in reference to Lewis). However, Lewis should use the criticism as motivation to rise again and remind everyone who must have forgot. Most importantly, Cult LH fans need to remember when it comes to the established “Ferrari Tifosi” (a power base who has a strong love of Charles Leclerc and Ferrari being a cultural foundation for an entire nation), they will now be intertwined with the power and pride of a nation. So, be “respectful and thoughtful” in Lewis/Charles fan engagements when the festivities begin in Feb 2025, because if Fred and the engineering team get the Project-677/SF-25 right then Ferrari fans next year should have a f%$k-ton to talk about concerning both drivers.
