Manny, I enjoy so much of your content bro. You inspire me to study more. I even appreciate your perspective on Reformed Theology - it is helpful to learn viewpoints. As someone who is Reformed, I wanted to listen with an open mind and I did. If I could add in some critique though, I don’t think you fairly defined some of the ways Reformers would view a particular issue - namely prayer and hyper-emphasis on Paul. Yes, that happens but there is more nuance. Seriously though, I love your perspective and learning from you. Sharpening my love for God. Looking forward to Part 2.
This was very helpful! Love the part about how Our prayers influence God’s will.. I didn’t realize how I somewhat subconsciously believed that people don’t influence God’s will. Your biblical examples were very helpful in combating that thought process!
I’ve come to the faith thru Pentecostal means but learned how to study and get in-depth of Scripture thru “Reformed” camps. However, I do see some other flaws with both often. Where some Pentecostal lean to far into the experience and some Reformed leans far to much into intellect and Bible knowledge. There has to be a healthy dose of both/and. Orthodoxy and Orthoproxy have to walk together.
Our salvation is like a door on the outside it says "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30) When we have entered trough the Door and look back, it says: For many are called, but few are chosen.”Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” So if one beliefs that we have a free will and not God but we are choosing, and have the ability to accept or reject Jesus by our will and action. Then you are still gazing at the outside of the door.
Love your approach to this topic and the emphasis on experience. How would you view the practice of practical theology fitting into the church's broader wisdom and understanding?
Pentecostal for 30 yrs, then I actually started studying deeply, that combined with the constant scandals in Pentecostalism from its beginnings to now was just enough to step away and many have done the same, being southern Baptist now I feel it’s a much more balanced expression of the gospel snd discipleship happening. Pentecostal and charismatic churches just don’t have a solid structure in those things. Still have many Pentecostal friends, but I’ve never seen a true verifiable miracle, I do believe God can heal as he desires, to many charlatans out there.
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. Brotha ! This was fire 🔥 , not only you set things straight but this was a needed end time word. Ppl are leaning so much towards a more reform type after having great experiences because they judge the failings of the spirit filled churches and then they get baptist style churches because they fear the power of the gift of God.I really wish ppl understand that though being very biblical is important as being walking in the fruits and gift of the spirit .

9:40 Opposing the idea Calvinists impose a sovereignty grid over all scripture by imposing an Arminian-free will grid on all scripture. Again cue Sovereignty vs Free Will debate, Calvinist vs Arminian.
3:15 Err, no. If an exegetical preacher spoke on a passage where Jesus was preaching topically, doesn't that mean the exegetical preacher is also preaching topically because they are simply talking about what Jesus was? Based on the passage selected, most exegetical preaching is topical because the text is topical. One primary difference between the two is that exegetical preaching will focus on the text, where as the topical sermon will focus on the topic and if you kept doing that, the audience over time wont be becoming more and more familiar with the bible.
Little Johnny, God has predestined the minority of people to be saved and go to heaven forever, and He has predestined the majority of people to be eternally damned and burn in the fires of hell. We have no idea, little Johnny, if God has predestined you to be forever damned or forever saved. We love you, little Johnny, but we accept the fact that God might not love you, and that He may have plans to send you to hell for your future sins. If you do find yourself one day burning in hell because He hasn’t elected to save you, just remember that we will always love you, even if God hates you. Take comfort knowing that we are not like God. We will be in heaven forever only because we were unconditionally chosen for salvation before we were born. That would be the only reason that we won’t be in hell with you if you find yourself there. It won’t be because of anything we did. So also take comfort in knowing that. It may not seem fair, but who are we to judge God? So again, if you find yourself in hell, remember that we will always love you as we forever worship the God who loved us but who hated you, the God who sent His Son to die for us but not for you. Please, we ask, don’t let it bother you-if you find yourself in hell-that we love the God who hated you and showed you no mercy. We must accept the fact that God is sovereign, and He does what He pleases. My dear beloved Calvinist, will you teach that to your children or grandchildren? I suspect that your answer will be “never.” But why not? Why would you ever hide the wonderful “doctrines of grace,” the “Bible truth,” from your own children or grandchildren? TRUTH IN LOVE
What about 70 M Buddhist in Thailand. 95% of the population of Thailand are Buddists and 4.5% Islam. Do they have a freewill to accept the Gospel? Did God give them a free will The children born in Thailand will grow up being Buddhist. For any to ever get out of it, there is a powerful miracle needed of a work of the Holy Spirit. NOT A CHOICE. May be go with Billy ruclips.net/video/hrf60-zHl9A/видео.html and deny that the Gate is Narrow and few find it.
The big thing is to know that God is sovereign in salvation....God chooses His bride....that is Bible 101.....God has always chosen His covenant people.....just like in the OT God chose Israel only....He did not choose the Babylonians, the Assyrians, or the Egyptians...see Amos 3:2.....If God did not choose you then you will one day hear from Him, "Depart from ME, I never knew you!"
"Experiences are supposed to change theology." Maybe we define theological differently, but that statement concerns me. Let's be neither Reformed nor Pentecostal (denominational) but go back to the Word and be "like" the Bereans! I think experiences should cause people to search the Scripture to discover whether their "theology" is Scriptural or not! "Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. " Acts 17:11
6:30 Your issue is not really that reformers are fatailistic (i.e. the Sovereignty over Free Will), rather that reformers tend to diminish the imminence of God. The reformed don't expect God to work in the now. And this plays out in their corporate prayer life, use of Spiritual gifts and sheer lack of seeking God's presence and action in the now. In part this is a reflection of a deficient pneumatology. Maybe you could call them Binitarians (The Father, the Son and the Holy Bible).
Where to begin...there are many things to tackle here that the comments won't suffice. Instead I'll summarize it with this: What you propose here reverses things from "on earth as it is in heaven" to "in heaven as it is on earth."

Very true!
Interesting!
Sound like he's talking about "hyper-Calvinism"
Where to begin...there are many things to tackle here that the comments won't suffice. Instead I'll summarize it with this: What you propose here reverses things from "on earth as it is in heaven" to "in heaven as it is on earth."
Reform doesn’t even preach Pauline theology, that’s what they made us believe but they don’t and the new perspective on Paul showed us that.
New Covenant Whole Gospel:
Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him.
He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
(John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18.
