And my answer is, I really enjoy the legato, warmth and depth of Mr. Lewis’s expressive baritone, without any cheap squeaky breathy breaks so popular on America’s Got Talent et al.
Oh sh!t I didn’t realize this was new, and actually for Love Never Dies!! I’ve been saying he was who I want to see in the role for LND for years! This is hopefully going to be amazing!
he has them in spades. He's my inspiration, one of the original, true Bari-tenors, able to sing in the timbre and heaviness of a baritone with all of the height and lightness to full voice navigate through first and second passage in chest voice and the seemless mix he possesses where you can't tell where his break ends. I'm pretty sure I saw a recording of him singing either the Impossible Dream or Make Them Hear You (at one of his concerts, can't remember year and venue) and had this masterful extended cadenza at the end of the song and slid up to a full voiced high C like it was nothing.
He did a good job in the concert however I agree it was miscast. The high notes were slightly strained and out of his comfort zone. He’s a legit bass-baritone however is blessed with very good range which allowed him to pull it off. He’s acting was wonderful, a really interesting interpretation. Still one of my favourite MT performers.
Go check: Norm Lewis-This is Life, he sings one of the best high C‘s in the business, he sang many high A‘s and B flat As Javert. He is a high baritone with normal baritone low notes. When he sang Porgy, they transposed stuff up. Still i agree that his vocal style suits the first Phantom more than the Phantom in Lover Never dies.

Beautiful tones as always.
We need a recording of this, it's top tier
I know, right? I keep asking and begging and…nothing. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏼♀️
Love this song
I’m so excited to see this 😊😊
I am truly at awe. Orgasmic. Bravi Bravi

Cast recording, please?!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥺🙏🏻🤷🏻♀️
This is soooo beautiful
I have that exact same shirt
Where is the rest of the recording?! This was great!
damn
YEEEAHHHHH
Well, my question is, can Norm get top C's which Ramin sang in The Beauty Underneath 🤔🤔🤔?
Who actually cares? This man is amazing!🙂
He is far better
He definitely can. Dude is amazing.

Imo a miscast. Norm is a bass-baritone, and the phantom range goes all the way to C5. Hope he can pull it off

@@MrYonnjyas he reminds me of Timothy Nolen. A bass baritone phantom who can hit those high notes
I was there and he performed it perfectly, the audience is not full of voice critics. The applause was overwelming for this man.
I wish there was a full version of him singing this.
