i estimated the upper orifice of the rib cage which is the 1st rib connected to the manubrium by 1/2 head depth without the spinous process X 1 cranial width, i never found these kind of info in books, and these kind of info are essential for studying the structure
nice to see this tutorial, by coincidence i'm studying the structure of pelvis and rib cage which i find really complicated in comparison to my past i was drawing them by estimation egg for rib-cage and tapered box for the pelvis :D
Hi Marc, I have a question... with the top view of the rib cage, you draw a box, develop it into an eye shape, draw the first rib (neck opening) then draw another shape inside the egg as the rib cage... I'm confused as to what the "eye shape" represents? The smaller shape you draw inside seems to be what you actually use as the rib cage (you draw the spinal column and clavicles in relation to this yet they sit very much inside the "eye shape.") Any clarification would be much appreciated.
It represents the top of the rib cage as a general conception then I reduce and refine that shape to better ad more clearly define the top further. The eye shape was a starting point.
