If you're replacing the stock speakers you can pry off the old speaker brackets off the old speakers and reuse them with new speakers. Worked great for me.
2003 Yukon Denali XL: Under the lock slider, there's a plastic bracket supporting the lock bar. A 7mm bolt holds it to the door. After removing the lock slider, remove the bolt behind that slider. THEN pull the door panel off.
Same goes for a 2004 Tahoe. This is likely something that was added around 2003 and likely applies to all models. Door wouldn't budge until this screw is removed.
Thank you dude I'm about to break my damn door I'm trying to pop clips out lol I didn't realize you can just lift it right off lol for real thank you. You just save me a lot of money
This Chanel has been so helpful.. I have an 04 single cab Sierra as a little toy truck, been thinking about doing my sound system myself and you guys got me feeling confident enough to do the head unit and speakers.. the only thing I’m shaky on is on adding a sub and amp. Like how or where to mound the amp and sub... do you have any videos that could help?
You’re probably stuck to a under seat sub box and amplifier tucked away near it wires running by the doors and through the firewall, never the door jam.
You forgot to mention on a totally electric underneath the power window switches there is a 7mm bolt holding the panel on. Remove that bolt before trying to take your door panel off.
This is also the case with 2001 suburban 2500. Need to remove the control panel and remove that 3rd 7mm bolt. I discovered this by breaking one of them
I bought the speaker adapters for my 02 Tahoe and tried to install 6.5 inch boss speakers with it and the speaker adapters were too small for the speakers. Had to return them.
I ordered the Metra 82-3002 pair of brackets. You failed to mention not all speakers fit the bracket. That would have been helpful. I bought a pair of Alpine SXE-1726S from Crutchfield and they don’t fit in the brackets you said we needed. Frustrating… Plus I know you’re trying to save time and keep the videos to the point, but it is helpful to see how you do these steps, not just that you did these steps. No real need for video if you’re just going to show results without the process.
I think you have to, that’s what am trying to figure out Did you cut the sides that don’t fit ???, I have a 96 but with out cutting those won’t fit I see that he did not cut them off
Great video but you did the easy part how about running the wires through the door grommet to put a real amplifier in the truck that would have been a good video talking about getting some views!!!
For speakers, disconnecting the battery generally isn't needed. But, if you are uncomfortable working on your speakers with the battery connected, by all means, remove the negative.
Yes, you do as long as your truck is a 4 door (crew cab) because they use the same size speakers front and rear. No adaptor is needed if you have an extended cab truck because those use a 4x6 speaker.
@@thomashoppes8594 I did the front door speaker installation on my 04 Tahoe today. I used an aftermarket speaker adapter (Metra 72-4568) and I drilled holes for a pair of 6.5 pioneer speakers. If you’re upgrading from OEM & you need adapters, these will fit your 2001. metra 82-3002 door brackets, about $15 on crutchfield.com or you can drill holes, whatever works best for you. Speaker harness connectors Metra 72-4568 is what you’ll need to connect to your factory wiring harness. $6 per pair on Amazon or Crutchfield.com
It should fit the 1999/2000 thru 2006 GMT800 trucks. It said it fit my 04 Tahoe which I used to install my speakers and they played sound after installation.
Nope, not mandatory to use the brackets, as long as the speaker magnet clears the window tracks, you can mount the speaker directly to the door without the bracket.
I have these Metra brackets ready for my install. My question is, do I just run the screws that came with the speakers, through the slots that match up with the holes in the speaker frame? I don't want to crack the plastic of the bracket.
If you’re referring to the door bracket adapter that clips onto the door, Not required, I just watched several videos (including this one) on rear speakers install. Only required on front. I’m planning a DIY install sometime this month

Just an FYI my 2002 Silverado looks just like this. However, the door panel did not just lift off. The electric locks and windows portion lifts out and there is a plastic bracket. Needless to say that is broken now. Not mad at ya, just thought I would let you know.
Every single video I’ve watched skips past the DAMN harnesses. I’m tryna figure out that one clip that won’t let go and y’all too damn lazy to show it cause you KNOW it confused you too!!
Provo Beast Audio Installation good answer. I have a question. Would u recomend using speaker baffles? They are also called boom mat, with is like a cup where the speaker maget goes in. Would i get better sound with those or speaker foam fast rings?
Parts linked in the description!

I need to know how’d you did it I have a 2004 Tahoe
Same I used it on my new speakers

Those speakers rock! 🤘🏼
The screen over speakers sure would be a better way to change them out, if they'd of made it that way.

Thanks! I got the polarity for the speakers. I appreciate your help. 👍😊
You completely skipped over the part I needed...how to actually get the old speaker out.
I know its late but for other people.... on mine there is a black clip on top with foam running between it. You just pull that down and out

Same thing happened to me
Ditto
You skipped over unscrewing the 7mm screw behind the window switches. I cracked the plastic clip 😕
Im ordering them for my 2006 chevy silverado. I hope everything fits.

I have a 2002 Silverado extended cab, I was wondering if they other speaker would be able to fit in the extended door
So you don't have to use component speakers? Where are your factory tweeters?
Where are the tweeters? I noticed some had then on the a pillars but mine doesnt?
On the wiring adapter , is black positive and white negative or does it not matter
Where would u put component tweeters?
The tweeter would be connected to the door panel itself. There are screws that hold it in place.
For the brackets is it both sides in 1 package?
Did you had to do modification to the adapter
I mean (cut off some parts from the adapter )
I think you have to, that’s what am trying to figure out Did you cut the sides that don’t fit ???, I have a 96 but with out cutting those won’t fit I see that he did not cut them off
But u gotta drill holes?
Looks like u already had the speaker bracket under the old speaker n u installed a new one. I dont understand
Great video but you did the easy part how about running the wires through the door grommet to put a real amplifier in the truck that would have been a good video talking about getting some views!!!
You run the wires from the amp to the head unit harness that way you don’t have to run separate wires to for different locations
Did you disconnect your battery to instal and connected it back to test?
For speakers, disconnecting the battery generally isn't needed. But, if you are uncomfortable working on your speakers with the battery connected, by all means, remove the negative.
Any tips on quieting down the door panel from rattling so much
Sound Deadening
On the driver side door what color is positive and negative?
Tan pos, Gray is Neg, Thats what this guy said anyways.
would those speakers adapters brackets could work for the rear doors as well ? I'm trying to install some 6 3/4 speakers on the rear doors
no
Yes, you do as long as your truck is a 4 door (crew cab) because they use the same size speakers front and rear. No adaptor is needed if you have an extended cab truck because those use a 4x6 speaker.
Doesnt the factory amp require 2 ohm speakers?
Yes, but this vehicle didn't have Bose
Do you need an amp for those speakers or will it run off the factory watts
They are running off the factory radio. However, they could use a little more power as they are rated for 50watts RMS each speaker.
I want speakers for my 2001 Suburban1500. Are they 6 1/2 or 6 3/4?? I have seen conflicting answers. Thanks.
Both will fit this application fine.
@@ProvoBeastAudio no adaptors required for either?

Is it a must to use those speaker brackets or can u still install them the way the originals were?
Nope, not mandatory to use the brackets, as long as the speaker magnet clears the window tracks, you can mount the speaker directly to the door without the bracket.
Did this have bose system originally? If not, is the process still pretty much the same?
It did not, but for speaker replacement, the process is the same regardless if it has bose or not.
I have these Metra brackets ready for my install. My question is, do I just run the screws that came with the speakers, through the slots that match up with the holes in the speaker frame? I don't want to crack the plastic of the bracket.
Use same screw but shorter , will fit really good with out braking it
How much was the adapter for the speaker so I don’t have to splice also does it sound better if I splice
Prices listed on amazon.
Do thy have a bracket for the back door ??
It’s not required, I have a 2004 Tahoe and it was held on screws.
I took the power window piece off it makes it easier.

Does it use the same speaker braket in the rear doors

Do they sell the adapters for the wiring on the rear 4x6 speakers also?
They really don't because you can bolt up speakers to the factory location, but i'd suggest foaming the back of your speaker to avoid rattles.
Yes, they use the same part number speaker adaptor wiring harness. It's a Metra 72-4568 for both front and rear speakers.
You skipped how to remove the speaker that's one of the most important steps if you don'twanna break anything :/
Would this work with a 05-06 model?
Yes, as it is for a 1999-2006
What size are the speakers? I have an 07 2500hd classic ext cab like this does anyone know the front and rear speaker sizes?
6.5
It’s 6.5 on front.
Rear door can be 5-1/4, or 6-1/2
Hey what size are the speakers
Yea that’s I’m trying to figure out my 04 Yukon sle has no holes for the screws to go into
What's the biggest you can put in those doors? Without cuttin and making boxes
6.5" unless you cut.
Is there supposed to be a tweeter right above the 6.5 speaker? I've seen it through the grill on my 2004 Silverado.
Depends on what trim level your truck has. Some do, some don't. This one did not so we used coaxial speakers instead of a component set.
Provo Beast Audio Installation
Do you have a video replacing the component speakers on a Silverado and do you know what size they are? Thanks
There will not be direct replacements for tweeters, so most component sets come with brackets to allow you to attach them to door panels.
Provo Beast Audio Installation
Thanks for the video and recommendations for the brackets and wire harness. I installed mine today.

It’s plug and play. Not sure how it can be confusing.
my 99 tahoe door doesnt look like that at all.
They changed the door style half way through 1999. Sounds like you have the older style.
Sad you had to use white noise so you don't get fucked by RUclips for infringement.

ugh this isn't a helpful video mate sorry!
Why pioneer speakers though? Their garbage
Sometimes it's what the owner of the truck wants and it's not always what we as installers want...

Yes, they may help with midbass and better insulation against moisture in the doors.
