    So let me get this straight? Michael G. Moye and the late Ron Leavitt who co-created It's Your Move and Married...with Children as well as produced The Jeffersons in the 80's along with Coca-Cola's Embassy Television had a hand in this show?
    Very interesting
    Julia Campbell who played a Woman in Prison went on to play a Mean Girl in Romy and Michele's High School Reunion with Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow of NBC's Friends Fame
    The late Peggy Cass of Goodson-Todman's To Tell the Truth
    CCH Pounder of Robocop 3 went from playing a Woman in Prison to an M.E. on NCIS: New Orleans
    Comedian Blake Clark went on play Chet Hunter on Boy Meets World and Harry "the Hardware Store Guy" on Home Improvement
    Denise "Denny" Dillon is a Tony Award Winning Actress who appeared on stage and screen
    and the late Wendy Jo Sperber went on to star in another short-lived FOX Comedy Babes and she also starred in abc's Bosom Buddies Starring Tom Hanks and Private Benjamin: The Series

      Yeah I remember these famous actresses. CCH Pounder voiced Amanda Waller from the Justice League animated series, The New Batman Superman Animated Series and Arkham Asylum Assult Animated movie. Denny Dillion was on that Showtime series Dream On, also the 1980-81 season of Saturday Night Live. Wendy Specer is in Bosom Buddies, 1941 and Back To The Future

    • @andrewbarton2590

      And Antoinette Byron, who had been on the Australian prison soap Prisoner prior to this, as Susie Driscoll's hostel roommate.
      Women in Prison was doomed from the start. It faced 227 in the same timeslot on Saturday nights and had the struggling Matthew Perry sitcom Second Chance as a lead in. No wonder it ended quickly.

    Women in Prison (1987-1988) was a bad but perversely entertaining t.v. show that was produced by "The people who brought you Silver Spoons, 227, and Married... with Children. A young woman (Julia Campbell) takes to fall for her sleazy and shady husband. All she had to do was keep her mouth shut and do her time. But she later on finds out about hubby's lecherous deeds. So she's stuck in prison doing a long stretch. Her fellow inmates were a strange bunch of odd fellows. The show never received any sort of closure because it was canceled after the 1st season. Only 13 episodes of the series were produced and aired. I don't know why because it was entertaining compared to the crap that the FOX network was airing night after night.

    • @andrewbarton2590
      @andrewbarton2590 2 года назад +2

      Timeslot and lead in contributed to the show flopping.
      It was scheduled directly against NBC's 227 on Saturday nights and had the Matthew Perry sitcom Second Chance, which was struggling to get an audience, as a lead in.
      None of the early Fox sitcoms could succeed on Saturday nights against NBC's comedy block.

    This show feels more like a rich woman loses all her money and is forced to work with commoners story more than a prison show. You could probably replace the latter plot with the former plot and it would make more sense. Not sure what prison just lets inmates walk around willy nilly and not in prison garb too. Even the warden's office looks like it could have been used for a construction boss' office.
