MSFS 2020 C$160, Dell Alienware R11 with Nvdia 2080 C$3400....educating me on how to enjoy the 2 together...priceless!!! Thanks so much for such professional instruction to compensate for lack of MS reference manual!!! After 2 weeks of crashing innumerable times was on brink of getting xplane but now not so much. I have time off from the Covid wards at the hospital and this is a most welcome project to enjoy the outside world despite lockdown. Thanks!!! James,Toronto
I am new to MFS 2020 and your How To guides are exactly what I needed. Glad to have found it and your way of explaining and showing things is extraordinary detailed and understandable. A great help - still have a lot to do to setup my FS, but for sure no issue with your help! Many thanks from Germany!
This is the best tutorial on peripherals available anywhere. I am an XP user have been for years and MSFS 2020 was difficult to master and use. You have made it easy and fun to fly thank you
Hi Mark. Another excellent presentation, well paced, clear enunciation, and even guidance on what not to do. You make what I find difficult easy. Thank you Sir Cheers Noel
I have been looking for a video that explained how to set up the joystick and finally found it!! You did a great job explaining how to get it all set up.. Thank you!
Thank you, Mark. That was really well presented and explained. I've been a sim-boy for about a dozen years now, and still appreciate instructional videos like yours whenever they come out. (Did I just say "sim-boy"? More like "sim-pensioner"!) Thank you once again, and do stay well over there in good old blighty.
Thanks for these helpful videos. You've made it possible to enjoy this great Sim instead of pulling out my hair in frustration. Especially helpful are the tips of which of the myriad, related options for controller mapping, are the ones to use. Now, if you could put up a video especially related to mapping a standard yoke or joystick for flying the big commercial jets, I'd be very grateful. I don't really want to buy all the expensive, jet-related controllers (at this time). But right now, I can't even get off the ground with a standard joystick in the A320. Thanks!
Everyone needs to try "Axis and Ohs" by Lorby. It makes setting up controllers soooo very easy and accurate. Plus it has a feature that provides virtual FIP gauges. It's the best! Also it works with P3Dv5 and FSX.
Thanks for all your videos, they have been a great help to get me started. I must be missing somethings obvious though - you have rudder pedals connected, but you use the twist on the joystick for rudder. Why? How do you configure the pedals to work with the joystick? I cannot figure out how to do it because they are under different profiles.
The flight stick has the option to enable or disable rudder (when linked together by cable). I can also just turn off the rudders via usb and use the joystick etc.
Mark great video and I found it to be very clear and concise. I do have one question though? When flying GA aircraft I presume its better to use the joystick rather than a Quadrant of some sort?
Great content. Followed easily. I am having an issue after I program the switches my only option on flying is default and not the custom profile I have. I'm new to MSFS but cant seem to fly with the new setup. Thanks in advance
You need to go to preset manager and duplicate default profile, give it another name, save and then make changes to the new profile. Apply and save after making any changes.
Hi Mark . Very nicely done sir . Clear and easy to follow for the newcomer and a good refresher for more seasoned simmers . The only can of worms that i`d like you to untangle . Would be the search for quality and perfomance balance graphicaly . This should probably wait untill both the red and green team have their latest models out . But MSFS 2020 being such a brute to run even on modern hardware . Any extra nuggets of wisdom on getting the best out of our systems , can only be a good thing . I know it`s a big subject . And peoples systems and hardware can vary hugely . There must be a core of card and sim settings that are big performance changers . As i say ,probably nearer the end of the year would be better to cover up to date hardware . ( I may have my 3080 by then ....maybe ) Keep up the good work sir .
ah, here's the one i was looking for. Thank you. Have had this since day 1, and still cannot figure out how have "sets" of input controls/periphs for each aircraft.
Hi Mark, great video, many thanks. Just to let people know, you can also connect the PS4 controller (for Drone flying) but you need to set it up, no OOB settings offered. I guess it's a Pepsi Cola / Coca Cola thing. Using Mark's instructions and you'll be in business soon. btw Cant wait for the Honeycomb Beta Throttle, ordered it months ago.
Tnx for another great and informative video. I did pick up some really good stuff in there. If you can and will I'd like to see a video on the camera system and how to setup so you can show different views pushing keys. For instance number 5 for radios or number 7 for the overhead. Like in X-plane.
Fantastic tutorial, so simple and I will definitely recommend this tutorial to my friends. Thanks again. Ps: it's there a tutorial about outside view of the aircraft as I'm flighting?
Thank you for your VERY useful videos🙏👍 Problem: Flaps, parking brake, landing gear etc randomly keeps turning on/off while in flight. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Frans, there could be a number of reasons for this. Check calibration in windows. Check that there is not another binding for the same action somewhere conflicting with your profile. If using honeycomb kit download latest drivers/config. Hope this helps.
@@SimHangerFS thx for speedy answer, have a lot of stuff in my sim rig so it will take some time to eliminate other bindings. Once again - your videos are extremely useful.
Another great video Mark! I doubt these features exist or you probably would have mentioned them... Can a controller profile be tied to a specific aircraft when selected? Also, is there a button repeat feature like FSX and P3D (I.e. one click, fast, and slow)? Thank you, Don
Hi, Mark, I have previously taken your advice when setting-up bindings for my Honeycombs A and B. As I am having a few 'niggles' with my MSFS (not related to bindings), I am going to do do a fresh install of MSFS. Can you please advise me on, or give me a link to, instructions on how to do this without losing my bindings? A couple of months ago, I bought the Turtle Beach rudder pedals, and they have remained in their carton until my MSFS is free of small glitches. At that time, I will take advantage of your set-up video....as I did with my Honeycombs A and B....and be up-and-running again. Mark, would appreciate any help...

Hi Mark, Just recapping this " how to Video" excellent instruction on set up great tip to remind us to do the basics with the windows / game controller calibration initially. All though not 100% associated with the video above can you tell me if and how I set up a keyboard button to auto adjust barometric pressure on the fly ie QNH, in P3D it's button "B" where is the or is there a control to be found A/P maybe for barometric adjustment? Thank again Mark. Charlie
Tryied setting up my VKB NXT EVO joystick using this method. First, i configured it through VKB setup manager and MSFS 2020 wouldn't read the X and Y axis so I tried this method through the Microsoft setup and now MSFS 2020 won't recognize the joystick at all. It is a great video though, I'm sure I did something incorrect. Been fighting with setting this stick up for three days and can't seem to get it to work. Thank you for the content.
Thanks a lot for this tutoiral. It got me up and running with my HOTAS. But I'm having some issue where I can take off and fly just fine but once I land at my arrival point, my plane refuses to drive straight and makes me do loops or do a 180 and I cannot drive to the gate. I looked online and some people said that maybe it was something about the rudder being assigned to the HOTAS AND the keyboard at the same time but the results were inconclusive and I don't really know what I am doing. Do you know how I can fix this problem? Also the nose up and nose down thing only moves the lever between 4 and 5 and nowhere else.
Make sure you have AI pilot and pilot assist for rudder etc. switched off. Check your configured under control options…you could have two functions assigned to your throttle or flight stick.
Great info on this! Question...when i take off i have trouble keeping my plane straight, it's kinda all over the place lol, is this just a matter of maybe sensitivity for my rudder? i do have some dead zone setup, OR do i need to trim it?
