Thank you for this honest review. I am going to be purchasing a 2017 C300 4-Matic coupe, and I live in New Jersey where we can get some pretty bad winter weather. I was sick of videos of idiots just doing drifting, and needed to see the Benz drive safely in the snow with the proper tires. You really helped me out! Thanks!!
Funny I have exactly what your trying to buy, the car is great only thing is , the cargo space. I’ll wait until the 2-3 generation of the new GLC coupes to either replace it or just by another.
being from wisconsin and driving one of these in one of the badder winter storms in colorado I was thoroughly impressed with the handling. I do turn of the auto assist features though because the car doesnt even need the assistance when it thinks it does. Wonderful in winter.
I recently put a set of the General Tire Altimax Arctic 12 on my 2004 E320, with the 4MATIC drive system. My tire size is the OEM, 225/55R/16. I drive in and around the Flagstaff Arizona area. ( Snow Bowl Ski Lodge). During the past 3 weeks, Flagstaff has been hit with several snow storms. I have not had any difficulties driving in these weather conditions. The car is able to steadily move forward from a full stop. Even on 3-4 inches of snow on an incline. In one situation, I drove about 16 miles on an unplowed highway, in about 6-8 inches of snow. I was able to safely navigate the vehicle in these conditions. There was very good straight line braking. The car was very sure footed. I did not get stuck, like many other vehicles that I passed on my way into Flagstaff. The hotel I stayed in was located at the top of a hill about 50 feet above the main road. The driveway up to the hotel was about 150-200 yards long. The pavement was covered with about 6 inches of unplowed snow. I drove up the driveway and into the parking lot without any difficulty. Driving at about 10-15 mph. I am delighted with the performance of the car/tire combination. 28 psi in front tires, 30 psi in rear tires per vehicle manufacture specification. The tires handle very well on the cold dry roads. There is very little road noise. And the tires did well in a mix of slush and ice. The tires clean themselves out very good. I did not experience any hydroplaning. Over the past 3 weeks I have witnessed many vehicles struggling to maneuver through the conditions. Some couldn’t even get going in a level parking lot covered in 3-4 inches of snow. And others could not move forward up hill, once they stopped for the traffic light. I did not experience any of these difficulties. The 4MATIC drive system combined with dedicated snow tires is a very capable vehicle for driving in winter weather conditions.
Honestly thank you for this video, I live in alberta Canada also and am planing to buy this car and have been very worried how it will do in the winter here and this video helped me alot .
Cute you guys call that a storm. I am from NL, Canada. Haha. Try all season tires in the NL snow storm. And yes, you are correct, we need Winter Tires for the winter.
Colder not means more snow. Check the data. Oh my..... My point was that was not a snow storm for that amount in NL. It would be "light snow" in our mind set here.
I'm sorry to tell you this but winter tires are better than all season. they have more grip in the snow and you can accel faster without a reduction in power for grip. And stop sooner than the all season.
Hello Sir. I have a question. The chrome package around the doors are in black color . Where did you get them ? can you post a link if possible . Currently I have steel color wanted to switch to black.
Hey man what’s going on. I own a c300 without the 4matic feature and am planning a road trip to Colorado in March. I have all season tires on the car. Do you think I’m good?
Hey Bruv! quick question for you did your one come with a block heater? I'm from Saskatchewan and we have the same car. Mine doesn't have any block heater installed. do you recommend getting one?
The all season tires did ok but for me I would still rather had my winter tires mounted on the day this video was filmed. I did not get stuck with the all seasons but my winter tires do a lot better when cornering and braking.
I noticed you live in calgary, how does the c300 do on deep snow like 4inches? or more sometimes calgary can get some crazy snowstorm so I was wondering if it's your only vehicle can you still drive safely I mean any sedan really is low but I heard subaru and audi has the best awd and can just plow through deep snow like it's nothing.
Thats is nothing what you showed us. With that weather and snow I have made with a Fiat Panda better with out winter tyres ,and a worst weather also 😂😂😂😂

Excellent in winter, only got stuck once and it was during the December snowstorm in 2020
How's the fuel economy on this car ? Is it decent?
It’s pretty good minus that it requires premium 😂
@@POGAuto oh wow I had no idea about that, thats to bad now im not sure again 😅
😂
Great video!
man i hope W204's are also good snow cars. i am a bit afraid of driving in the snow and W204 2010-2013 will be the first car i am saving up to buy.
4matic is a great system but to have the best traction and braking distance you have to have winter tires or at least all weather tires
In the garage is not cold start. Mercedes 4matic is one of the best awd systems out there, from personal experience.
Cute you guys call that a storm. I am from NL, Canada. Haha. Try all season tires in the NL snow storm. And yes, you are correct, we need Winter Tires for the winter.
Ikr! That's no storm😂😂 also from NL
Ab is colder than nl though so your point is null

Drives well I have the C43 with 18’s and all season can’t wait for this winter.

I live up in the mountains of Colorado and my first set of sticky winter tires changed my life… they beat out the best set of all seasons..

If the car is rwd can we put chains at the 4 wheels to be sure for no slip in front???
wtf. my c300 doesnt even move a bit with new set of blizzaks.
Do you any special gear for driving in the snow ?
Hey man what’s going on. I own a c300 without the 4matic feature and am planning a road trip to Colorado in March. I have all season tires on the car. Do you think I’m good?

Dude..we bought a new 2018 4matic with stock tires..all season. We live in Vancouver...you think the all seasons will be ok for city driving?
The all season tires did ok but for me I would still rather had my winter tires mounted on the day this video was filmed. I did not get stuck with the all seasons but my winter tires do a lot better when cornering and braking.

Mecedes has also the best awd System
Nice car, I think I might buy 1. Probably a 2019 because of the new dash. Good in the snow?
