We were at that site the week before you! It’s a lovely site & so convenient for the town. Booths is lovely but so expensive! You got much better weather than us - we had rain ☔️ You taught us something new - we never knew there was a path to the launch through the site - we have always gone into Keswick doh 😂 Great vlog Rachel & David ❤
I like Wetherspoons but this one wasn’t nice inside, smelt bad and so we left, it wasn’t somewhere I fancied stopping. There were much better options in the town.
Another grate blog Karina and Jules, Jules you are a man of my own heart with the outdoor shops 😊😊. I enjoyed the boat trip as well and Jules you are so romantic 🤭🤭. Take care and look after each other.
Thanks Karina and Jules, we have been to Keswick many times but never taken the Moho there. What a great site and you had such good weather. Will definitely go now and give the boat ride a try as well. We love the outdoors shops there especially George Fisher. Everything you need close by. Best wishes H&M. 😊
Thanks for watching both, this would be a great spot for you and Poppy. There is a walk round the lake and Catbells is recommended for a walk. Hopefully we can meet up with you both in 2024. Take care..😊
Stayed here loads as a kid, we used to swim across to the next site on the left of the lake and spend the day jumping off their jetti in to the lake. Just bought a motorhome and fully intend on going back here
Thanks you two for an informative video. We stayed at the Derwent water site a month ago in one of the safari tents, in face the one you were pointing at. We booked it in September whilst drinking G & T’s on the patio and thought it would be a great 3 days away in the lakes. We drove up on the Friday afternoon when storm Dogbert was raging and the weather was appalling. We got to the site and the staff were great with Wayne showing us our accommodation and pointing out the very small, and I mean small, oil radiator. I will not describe the looks I got from the Valkerie who was going to share a small iron bed with me for the next 3 days. We unpacked and sat down to survey our surroundings when a cheery voice from outside (Wayne) informed us that he was about to throw a couple of storm straps over the roof to stop the tent from being blown away……. Who says that tenting can’t be fun! We went into town and had a great dinner at the Bank Tavern and was blown back to our tent in record time. If any of your readers/viewers want the full story I’ll be only too please to write further, just let me know. But right now I’m going down to dinner with said Valkerie in a 4 star hotel in Fuertaventura …… just getting warm again.
Thank you for watching.. I did see that one and I read good reviews about that too.. I will be going back next year so will try it..thanks for the recommendation 😊
Brilliant video Karina- love that site -we were on that very pitch in Sept! The boat sounds great and a nice easy option - we did catbells instead ! Hard work but great! Keep the videos coming!!! 😊
Thank you for watching.. what is the chance you were on that pitch too.. Our plan is to go back next year and do the cycling routes. Have a good week 😊
Hi Both, Looks like a nice site and location to explore the area 👍 Nice seeing hubby, and hearing him speak 🤣 let him do some caravan or Motorhome reviews 😮😮 I bet he would be great 🤭 Take care 😎
I went to school in Keswick as a boarder for 3 years ( 1976 to79) and absolutely loved it - been up Scafell Pike 3 times!! I took my wife back there to marry her, and the b and b I booked was run by one of two twin sisters who were in my class - how about that!! - Their dad is none other than Joss Naylor the famous fell runner. Steve
Excellent video. Joules is absolutely right that the wide angled lens didn't do the scenery enough justice. Both sites are excellent. I would recommend the walk along the west side of Derwent Water and then a pit stop at Lingholm and the Borrowdale Hotel before a bus ride back to Keswick.
Karina, I have been watching you and Jules for some time now and love your videos. This video was especially exciting for me because years ago we vacationed in Keswick (we live in NYC). In fact, I bought a vest, which I still have, from the Edinburgh Woolen Mill! Enjoy and I’ll see you in the next one 😊
Thank you for watching.. you can walk the lake but I don’t know if you can cycle the whole way. I am planning on doing the number 7 cycle route next time. I use this website to find my cycle routes explore.osmaps.com/?lat=54.645297&lon=-3.555116&zoom=9.2029&style=Standard&type=2d&overlays=os-ncn-layer Hopefully it might be of use to you too. 😊
This is one of our favourite sites and we prefer the section you chose - quieter and much more space. We’re fit 60 year olds and can recommend the walk around the entire lake. If you include going up Catbells, allow a day. Lingholm Estate (Beatrix Potter walled garden and kitchen) is a highly recommended pit stop. One of the boat stops is nearby but equally it’s a pleasant leg stretch from the site.
Thank you for watching and thanks for that information. Whilst we were there several people recommended the Catbells. We will try it next year. Have a lovely week 😊
Hi Karina, A thought: Given you’ve had both a Compact and full size Adria MH, it would be really interesting to hear your views on both to compare/contrast? Peter
Hi Peter, thats a really good suggestion, I can put a vlog together about a compact moho and a normal width moho at the NEC. The market seems awash with Compact models now. We both certainly have thoughts on how we found both. Have a lovely weekend 😊
@@HereWeTow We visited Scottish show yesterday- quite low key compared to NEC, but many more PVCs than full size MHs. The vans do have some clever use of space but we were pleased to retire to our Matrix! Back home to Lake District today.
@petermccall6880 Glad you enjoyed the show, I fancied visiting it but Jules is working and I am pretty flat out with my voluntary role..maybe next year. I was telling Jules about your comment and he agreed, it is a good topic. Enjoy your Matrix, we do love the space too 😍
Lovely video, we are staying at the keswick site next year. You mentioned you requested the quite part of the site, can I ask how you did this ? Just if we could have a lake view I'd like to request this
Thank you for watching..you will love it. When we arrived the site assistant asked if we would prefer the quiet area and we said yes. There are lake view pitches, some of those looked like serviced pitches but I am not sure. If you view the site plan you may get an idea before you arrive or ask if you can have a lake view when you arrive. It is a fantastic place.. enjoy your visit when you go 😊
@@HereWeTow aww thank you , we are excited to have finally managed to get booked onto this site as it is so popular , I'm sure we'll have a lovely view from which ever pitch we have as the scenery is stunning
We visited in July.beautful site and will be returning next year. Beware of the entrance to the site !! The midges are dreadful and plentiful. We wouldn't walk down there again at late evening. But definitely worth a visit to the site
Thanks for watching Trevor, it would be fine, the last 50 metres would be the narrowest part as you turn off the Main Street but then it opens up again as you go down to the site. You just have to make sure you don’t miss the right hand turn on the bend leading down to the site as it isn’t well signed (I didn’t think) 😊
@trevorthompson6429 Morning Trevor, we went to a motorhome for the ease of it and being able to get away more easily. The Moho is on the drive so we can literally jump in it with water and food on board and we are away. There’s little or no setting up on site and you worry less about your route to where you are going. I know with our 8ft caravan I was always planning routes. You can to get your head around the fact a motorhome is a real different way of touring. Once you get on site its harder to visit places than with your tow car. I book sites that are either accessible to places on foot or on our ebikes. We love our cycling now. Or, I do research around car parks for places we go. Its quite easy once you get in to it. Right now I wouldnt go back to caravan as the Moho is easy for us. I can jump in it and head of by myself too which I never did with the caravan. I think the word is Freedom. Thats what the Moho gives. But, if you prefer staying longer in one place and on,y go away a handful of times a year then stick with your caravan. You could always hire a Moho for a few days to see how you like it. 😊
@@HereWeTow thank you for that, pros and cons I suppose depending on your type of holidays, sounds much easier and less hassle especially if you can keep that home, we would struggle with 4 cars(kids at home) I do worry at times with the 8 ft van but wouldn’t go back to the standard width. Really appreciate your reply and taking the time to reply, it’s given me more to think about 😊
