- This time I'm having a look inside the engine bay of an Audi A4 B8, 2010 model. I'm naming components and pointing out the fitting locations of all basic parts under the hood. Sorry for the bad sound quality!
Engine: 2.0 TDi 170bhp. Engine code: CAHA.
Like someone else mentioned, I initially came here to be educated, but stayed for the ASMR tingles. Thank you for the relaxing explanation. Do more vehicles!
Just bought a 2015 A4 2.0T, and I went from a 2002 Honda Accord to this:) I really appreciate the explanation.
Congratulations on your new car! Good choice, enjoy it :)
Nice i like knowing all the parts instead of only knowing a few and trying to guess what some do
I want to use an oil pump. Where do I connect it for power? Thanks
very educating and useful review thanks a lot. great video 👍
I just bought one of these, my 1st diesel engine ive owned appreciate the info.
Hi, heard that the B8 gets really bad at the engine fuel consumption which requires a costly repair. How's it going for you?
@@Toriqization going great so far, what is the costly repair you speak of?
@@TheIllestMVP I meant oil consumption (not fuel, my bad). Please check this: ruclips.net/video/yX7QAxe4EXE/видео.html
@@Toriqization all good so far ive only owned the car under a year so far give it another few months like all vag cars it will be pissing coolant and leaking or drinking oil no doubt
@@Toriqization has around 74,000 miles on it at the minute
watched both of your under the hood vids, very detail thanks a lot. always wondered what are under the hood other than the ones listed in the manual. If you can do a video on undercarriage that would be great!
Okaythen001 Thanks!
That is a great idea. Undercarriage, suspension & brakes are on my list :)
Yeah just explain whatever is on the undercarriage, like what you did with the engine bay. Should be great!
Bloody great video. 🥰👍👍👍
you need "ASMR" in the title XD
Hi great video btw, I wanted to know if there's a way to clean the Dpf without regen at high speed or VCDS regen via Vagcom. Someone recommended Wurth dpf cleaner which is injected into the dpf itself. Do you think this would work? Could you instruct on how to carry this out.
Thanks in advance 😊
Unfortunately I have no experience with such cleaners. But I assume you will have to let the filter burn clean after using the cleaning solution, either by driving or by forced regen. I guess the benefit would be questionable, unless the filter is above the limit for what a standard regen can handle (above 40g). But if it is blocked, why not give it a try? 🙂
Huge thank you for the video mate, would you mind telling me where the engine coolant temp sensor would be located?
Where is the control unit located, is it only one?
nice video. I have the CAGA engine A4 2.0 tdi. Can you tell me the location of the thermostat? Mine may need replacing.
My engine does not reach operating temp (90) and fluctuates below this around 60-80 depening on how it's driven (ie. city/motorway).
found the thermostat. its behind the alternator. first thing i will try is change thermo with new one and flush coolant system and replace with new. see if this affects operating temparture.
I had this issue. There is a secondary thermostat on the back of the engine. Look for VAG 03L 121 157 B.
I have excessive mount of oil in my engine.
Where can i shove the hose inside the engine and start sucking oil?
And for US citizens. Euro model don't have old skool dip/oil stick.
You can't. Use the drain plug on the oilpan, beneath the engine.
A4 B8 2.0 TDI (CAGC) - I have rough idle (engine shaking badly, seems to work louder, noticeable vibrations inside of cabin), rev gauge is not fluctuating, it happens random, and after pressing acc. pedal for few times or driving for a short time it becomes normal... does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I need to clean EGR valve (i think it is dirty), i tried to clean "throttle body" myself long time ago but later on i've read that butterfly plate inside is not good to touch or push, and i was pushing and releasing many times while cleaning, it is possible that i damaged my TB ? Also, i noticed engine temperature gauge is reaching 90 deg really slow and if i turn on heating it goes back to 70...60... degree..
I have operating heat issues. never really reaches 90 where it should sit. and driving motore way it sits between 60-70-80. I am changing my thermostat today and doing a coolant system flush. hopefully all the problem is just a stuck thermo.
@@wwt-worldwidetrips8544 please let me know if it works and how it works after changing thermostat
@@wwt-worldwidetrips8544 how did it work out for you pal?
My Audi A4 b7 2006 tdi also shakes on idle but I checked with a few garages and its a common problem. Something to do with the fuel line but it does not affect the car at all.
Hi,thanks for good video! Can you record small video with your engine sound from fuel HPP on 1500-2000 rpm?
Glad you liked it. I will try to make a video, as you requested, hopefully within the next week.
I'm looking for the booster sensor, can you please tell me where this is
I know your comment is a year old, but did you ever locate the boost sensor?
Does your EGR have oil leak?
You mean the valve? No, its still dry. If yours is leaking, take it out, give it a good cleanup and replace the gasket.
I have a 2009 audi a4 quattro premium b8 engine code CAEB. When I start my car it turns on but then brings to shake not a vibration but a violent shake, but as soon as I'm driving over 10 miles per hour the shake is gone it drives and feels great! But as soon as I come to a light where I have to idle/stop, it begins to shake violently again, sometimes if I let it shake at idle for to long the EPC light comes on and I have to shut the car off. Then I turn it back on and its back at a rough idle but I can just drive more then 10 mph and it's fine again
Could be a lot of things. Worst case your timing belt. I'd definitely take it to the workshop ASAP if you're not able to figure out the problem yourself.
did you find out what this was?
same here... did you fixed it? in my case no epc light, no errors... if i push acc. pedal few times it calms down... it runs fine but on idle it shakes really bad all they way in cabin and engine..
I have the same engine do you no where the purge fuel vapour valve is.
No, I don't know. Diesel doesn't evaporate as easily as gasoline does, so I'm not sure if there is one at all.
Hi do you know where the exhaust tempeture sensor 4 is
Between turbo and DPF, I think. Didn't I mention ut in the video? 🤔
Not muching with my A4 2.0TDI 2014 non quatro
Cant fibde MAP sensore where did you show
9:30 MAP sensor
Tord Andreassen yes Can’t finde position for it as must to change it , f**king limp mode on
@@DenisVirtue should be on the intake hose somwehere, between the intercooler and intake manifold
Is there a Recirculation valve
Thanks for this video.
Can you please record video with functionallity of engine from pushing gas pedal to moving the car
Been looking everywhere for the G31 sensor on my 2014 Audi Q5 2.0 Quattro engine still cant find it lol 😂
Is that the MAP sensor? Should be somewhere between the intercooler and the intake manifold.
@@TordAndreassen found it thank you, changed it but light still comes on, in the shop now lol 😂
Any thoughts on what is causing a p0013 and p0023 faults code? Thanks
Jamie Reilly which make/model is your car? Engine? Changed your engineoil recently?
Tord Andreassen thanks for your reply it’s 2009 a4 b8 2.0 tdi 143 oil changed in November, car runs fine, engine light and flashing coil light. Codes read p0013 & p0023 & p2111 ? Thanks
Jamie Reilly The first two are generic codes, I couldnt find anything on ross tech about them. Which diagnostic system are you using? The last one refers to the intake manifold flap. It could be jammed/seized?
Tord Andreassen yes my throttle/shutter valve is jammed open fitting new unit this weekend. (Hence p2111 code) it’s the generic codes that’s confusing me, do you think they will clear with a a new throttle valve install? Thanks again. ps just a cheap obd reader from eBay
Jamie Reilly Well I get your confusion.. Maybe erase the codes, and see if they return when the new valve is fitted?
Isnt there an oil check thingy?
No, the oil level is shown in MMI.
Plz upload full electrical part vedio
I have same Audi . Engine is undtable it’s shaking
is it still shaking? what was the problem? i have same a4 b8 cagc 2.0 tdi engine and it shakes on idle but not all the time... if i push gas pedal few times it calms down... do you have same issues, fixed?
@@oneeetwooooothreeee similar issue here buddy, have you managed to sort it. Ross tech forum suggests Egr valve clean or replace and vcds reset.
@@rayc1503 it was due the bad FPR (fuel pressure regulator). In fact, with existing FPR it was shaking/vibrating random, and after changing FPR now it doesn't shake but vibrations are still here, most of the time when it is colder weather. In my opinion neither old or new are good, but new one is better because there are no shaking of engine anymore. Vibrations are maybe because of something else (engine mounts etc). Before this i cleaned egr valve but did not helped.
i have a Q5 and he consuming oil, with a motor like this
It's common problem with these engines. Mine was fixed under warranty by changing the piston rings and other related parts by the dealer.
Audi is the worst car I have owned it’s a money pit full of problems
Which one did you own? Curious what mileage and spec
same like in the video ,an my brother has also a b8 but caga engine, same problems it's like they like to drink money 😢😂
