  • Jeremy's Razors = ihateharrys.com // Is There a New Razor King? - So it turns out that Harry's razors and the Daily Wire had a falling out a while back. Now, Jeremy Boreing (the Daily Wire founder) clapped back, with his new line of razors and blades. Are they worth it?

Finally tried Jeremy's and sadly it fell short of expectations. Blades are not as good as Harry's, but I don't believe Harry's blades were as initially good themselves. I had to go through several passes myself and they got better. I think Jeremy's as the potential to do the same. Metal handle is a plus on Jeremy and the blades cleans better than Harry's.

Keep in mind that Jeremy's Razors is a new brand, whereas the other competitors have been on the market for many years. they've had plenty of time to improve their products after all those years.

I ordered the founders kit and was hoping for the best. I thought the shave for the face was just the same as the Harry"s blade. Where I had trouble was when i shaved my head! i felt like the handle didn't have any flex so the blade could glide properly on my head (I'm bald!) Lol Has anyone else had this issue? Mike any input here as we share the same haircut?? Lol

I have to imagine that there were some shenanigans behind this.
Jeremy's Razors were dull and painful to use. I was hoping to switch to them, because I have been using DSC for so long, but I couldn't finish my shave with Jeremy's Razors.
They were dull, flat and didn't cut worth a damn.

The razors are made by an Austrailian company called Pegasus so the product is just provided to Jeremy's razors

Agreed. Tried Jeremy's myself and was shocked at the poor quality because I wanted to support the product. It felt like shaving with a two week old blade. If this review sample was indeed as sharp as claimed, then Jeremy's is either paying for good reviews or objectively has a serious quality control problem on their hands.

The handle feels so nice because it’s made of tungsten I’m in the military so I shave daily and I actually prefer the Jeremy’s blades to Harry’s I feel Harry’s blade shape is odd and too wide around the base. It doesn’t move well around my Adam’s apple and the sharpness isn’t a noticeable difference

Nice to see a review of the true consumer base...men, that is, because in the real world women don't need to shave beards...
Well about the bag...i have had worse amenity kit bags given out by high-class airlines for their clientele. These are not made in-house and are more treated like purely cosmetical add-ons, as most people already have their preferred dopp kits for holding their shaving equipment.
Can't say anything about jeremy's blades because i have been a straight razor-user for over 25 years and you certainly can't improve on that quality of shaving experience. But i got one of those Harry's razors as a present and just testing these did not made me reconsider my habits. They laude themself with having bought a german quality razor manufacturing plant, but then use rather sub-par performing steel....
Well..it makes sense...because it is just about keeping money pouring in. If they truly would want to make the best blades for their consumers....they would use ceramic blades, as these practically nevere get dull (They still do, but not like steel). But than the subscription system would not work, because sending a pair of high-performance ceramic blades (which still would not cost substantially more as steel blades) just every 6 months does not make you rich.
But if you really do not want to get scr*wed...by these corporations (wokeism or not), simply buy a straight razor.
Cleaner shave, actual quality and in my 26 years of shaving with these i bought exactly only 4 of these.

I preorderd the Founder's Kit and received it June 14.
I had extremely high hopes for these razors as I'm tired of the wokeness and try to limit giving my money to these leftist companies... it's pretty much impossible, but I try.
These razors were awful. They pull, they feel dull, they did not cut my 1 day growth at all. The post shave balm is nice, and after shaving with these razors you need it. These don't even have a trim blade like the cheapest of razors have... very disappointed.
My Dollar General, $5.00 razors perform much better than these. I'm going to have to cancel this subscription, and go back to the dollar store. By the comments here, seems I'm not the only one.
Hopefully they will improve and I can come back and give them my support.
On the plus side, the handle is a tank. I dropped it in my shower, which is granite tile and I thought it was going to go through the floor and into my basement. Maybe they can skimp on the handle and increase the quality of the razors.

I had the same experience and disappointment. I couldn’t even complete 1 shave with the Jeremy razor, though I tried 3 times with different creams. I would like to support Jeremy, but it’s a no go unless they fix this issue.

    • @jimmyjuju
      @jimmyjuju 2 года назад +1

I'm glad I came here and read this because I thought it was just me. The razor unit itself is very nice - solid but not too heavy. The blades however are terrible. They are dull with lots of pulling on anything longer than stubble. I actually had to do a dry touch-up shave with my Mach 3 (which I thankfully kept, just in case).
As for the balm and shave cream - I could not care less about those things. There are dozens of other similar products that perform adequately.
The JR marketing is fabulous but the product itself has fallen way short of the hype. Cancelling my sub as well.

You aren't really comparing like for like with the handles there, since that's Harry's cheaper handle (The Truman). The more equivalently priced one to Jeremy's would be their other handle, The Winston.
The Winston is heavier than The Truman, since The Winston has a solid zinc handle. Jeremy's is advertised as "tungsten" but I'd guess it's actually tungsten carbide. Assuming the tungsten carbide is solid all the way through, I'd guess Jeremy's is heavier than The Winston, but by enough that the difference is noticeable? You'd have to try it and see.

I got the founders pack without high expectations for the kit. It was mostly to support DW.
I was pleasantly surprised! I love the handle and the blades. Fantastic shave for me. Maybe part of is that I never shave with long stubble. I use an electric shaver first if it is long at all.

@Jake Sorrentino totally agree. I think if you believe in an organization that it is worth giving them a shot. But I wouldn't support a crappy product. However, there are many organizations pushing their products these days by pushing special interest topics in their ads without ever mentioning the product they are selling. It seems like marketing research must be indicating that political messaging in ads is the current way to push product.

What I love about Jeremy's commercial is he admits that Harry's makes a great product.
Years ago I joked that the market will become conservative vs progressive products. What most people want is just a shave. Or just a can of beans. Or just a burrito.
We don't want Politicized Products. Hell, even Chick-Fil-A, arguably the *most*, uh, "Culturally Partisan" company in America a decade ago suddenly looks downright non-partisan. From their view, sure, it's a "Christian Company" but it's also just a Chicken Sammich, they're not actively "selling Jesus".
But a handful of today's companies are doing exactly that. It's ridiculous.

While I'm not a fan of Gillette's politics (There may be multiple sexual identities, there are two sexes, period), I use their vibrating electric razors for one reason: The useful life of the blade is much longer. A blade with 6 or 7 shaves on it might normally scrape and pull a bit, but vibrate that head a zillion times a second and the blade will shave like new. I go though half as many blades with that razor.

I hope this wasn’t just a stunt and one time money grab by Jeremy. They had to know their blades weren’t nearly as sharp out of the box as Harry’s, unless they didn’t do any comparison testing, which would have been irresponsible. Waiting for a response to my complaint to their customer service.

It just seem like you were trying skate around the partisan issues behind this product. Considering your a tech channel it makes it more obvious.
Harry's pulled out of the daily wire so what. It was most likely because of there idiotic new film. Any company can do a risk assessment.
I don't personally understand why a little girl shaving is a big deal. The little girl whats to be like her dad and copy him. Is there a statement on gender?
Also, are you honestly saying there isn't a large subset of guys who are toxic in their masculinity. I was in the USMC so I can say for sure the statement is true.

I thought he handled the review quite well, and he mentioned that he wanted to review something different, what's wrong with that? I think you're reaching to be offended, and making this into something bigger than it needs to be my friend. I was in the Army, in a combat MOS, and served in both Afghanistan and Iraq, I've never witnessed toxic masculinity, seriously. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I think a lot of corporations, and you as well, like to draw this correlation that because you've seen something happen, the problem is endemic in society. That's just not the case, the overwhelming majority of men behave and are well mannered, the ones that don't, they're the outliers. I think it's intellectually dishonest to paint men with that broad brush, and act like you're an exception to the rule, a paragon of righteous masculinity, floating above us. There's a lot of males in the world, and if even a small percentage of us were out there causing these issues, I don't think you'd have an orderly society by any stretch of the imagination.
That being said, these razors are terrible, if you're a veteran, I recommend signing up to id.me, and taking advantage of the 20% off from every man jack.
