A pimped out Plexi , just love how you guys can maintain the original tones, but add extra and make it so versatile. Genius.
Sounds great! Why Marshall can’t put out something like this stock is beyond me!
Now THAT soinds godamn electric! What a damn great mod. Kerrang for days.
I just want to drive down and listen to Danzig w you guys.
Heiio Jason, thank u for posting this. Marc mentioned this on the last recent episode of Tone Talk. I've been looking forward 2 this. I recently met Marc at a local guitar store, and he is a class act, much like yourself. Thank you for all your hard work and please keep these videos coming,,, U R MUCH APPRECIATED!!
Shea has a great workshop. He must really enjoy being there and made it so. Nice!
Sounds killer. Love the camaraderie of you guys working on amps.
Loved the Danzig and Wildside music in the background!
Wow absolutely awesome! Sounds Phenomenal! I know Marc is definitely happy with the outcome!
7:04 Nothing like a little Winger playing while modding an amp. ❤
I heard some old Night Ranger! Nice! Amp sounds killer!!
I got to play through Marc's amp recently, and it is absolutely awesome. Amazing job Jason & Shea. You guys really hit it out of the park!
Awesome Powerage Riffs! ❤ Love that sound man! 😍
This Marshall already sounded killer stock .. now it’s even better . I’m happy with stock such a killer little beast !
Dope - Marc playing at the end... Classic
Sounds ridiculously good, nice work guys. Don’t think Marc has a choice but to be stoked on this!
I’m very stoked!
Sounds awesome! I want one.
Same 🫢
Dang Marky your amp sounds bad ass!
Oh man you guy's hit a homerun with this one! Think i know what i want for my next amp. 🤘
Wow, my Sv20 needs that, also that Jaguar is nice😍
DAYYYUM the mini plexi absolutly RIPS fellas but I didnt expect anything less out of you two masters of your craft. 🤘🤘🤘
The Marshall, Marshall should've made in the first place.
Sounds incredible! An even more flexible amp with all the original flavour!
Awsome sound from this little amp!!
Good job kings of mod
Killer as always these dudes know the tonez !
It sounds absolutely phenomenal.
That sounds freaking awesome!!!!
Nice work gents!
even with just the phone mic, that sounded like the Marshall everyone wants. massive. for me, it sounded like the low input had a great rhythm gain level, and the high would be great for single note riffs and solo's. can it be switchable, i assume you'd have to have two masters, one for each channel.
by the way, great seeing you get some notice over other youtube channels around the world. love your work.
that sounds absolutely killer !
how much are we talking for a mod like this ?? im in perth so would have to send it to you. and I'll have a play around with leons marshall you just did before i decide if i want to mod my sv or not.... but that just sounds like my kind of amp 🤘
Wow sounds fantastic.
"Super secret taper" you guys crack me up... amp sounds fantastic!
Jesus holie chryst ... collosal tones! Acca Dacca too 😊
That is so cool. I can hear definite AiC Facelift tones in there 🤘🏼
Man that sounds goooooooood!
Great video man! That’s one angry little Marshall, love it👌
Better to Mod this than a vintage late 60s version, for me I would make use of that extra 12ax7 and use both triodes maybe one being high GAIN BRIGHT and medium gain darker or parralell / series the two stages for relly crazy OD Distortion, I did my 1st mod on a Univox that way and it worked great until the old iron x-formers gave up and couldnt find R&Rs
Would love to have this mod done to mine!
You 2 and Bruce should an all star amp building class next time your state side again! Keep up the good fight champions!
Sounds so ch0nky! Loved the pot swap too
Good lord I LOVE that single hum Jag. I need one NOW lol.
It's a HeadMyth! Sounded ripping!
I've been to Lon Cheney's cabin up by Glacier Lodge out of Big Pine, CA. I grew up in Big Pine.
Need more Danzig riffs in your guys videos going forward
Holy heavy!!! That is a high gain beast!!! So I guess when you're in the low input and it's acting as a typical plexi and the master volume is cranked you can't really use the effects loop?
You can use the fx loop on any setting the master volume is pre phase inverter.
Wow, sounds killer
Would be pretty interesting to hand wire that circuit, without a 5W mode. (This amp does need an attenuator for bedroom levels anyway) No chips, a turret board and the highest quality possible Elkos, Resistors, Pots etc. Figuring out the best layout and lets go. I think this thing would be a beast.
Hello from Japan.
This is jaw-droppingly great!!
I wish you guys have JPN local dealers/distributers. ARIGATO for your nice video.
Super Badass. Amazing job!
Sounds great. Quick question. How's that different putting a new gain stage than using a booster pedal? Have you bypassed the bright cap? Can we say that it is now closer to jcm800? Thanks.
Sick
christ that is killer
That sounds so good
Man, this is awesome!
My god, these sound amazing. Any thoughts on any Headfirst JTM Studio mods?
Congrats for the great job...how much does all this work of moddification costs for this model? thank you
Bad ass
Damn Yankees! Hell yes!
Danzig \m/
B-Town Blaster!
wait, are you in Bloomington right now??
Back in Australia now, was there last 2 weeks of May
@@HeadfirstAmps ah man!! I would have loved to have had you guys do some restoration work on my '69 JMP 50 (if you even would have had time).BTW, the mod in that sv20 sounds KILLER!!! Is that something Shea is going to continue doing?
I think so. You can reach out to him directly.
So cool such great content as always
Crushing
my first impressions is...I would Fire the engineers at Marshall!!
for such a simple amp, there is way too much shit under the hood imo!!
a collaborative effort, but Shae's DNA is apparent.
My thoughts exactly bro. WAYYY too much junk in the trunk lol. At that point it would be better to put an ST1 or turret in her so at least it will be serviceable for the next 50 years like the OGs still kicking around.
@@PerfectCircle91 I guess no one has ever heard of VAVE (Value Added Value Engineering)!! 😆
Any reason not to paralell the extra triodes in the new gain stage ? Just to use all the triodes.
Let’s here Freya by the sword
Yup
So is it switchable to the "normal" plexi gain structure if I want to or is the high-gain mod always engaged? And whta cost this pimp mod?
*jawdrop*
That thing sounds damn close to the legendary Bogner snorkler modded JCM800 that Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains used for Facelift and Dirt which speak for themselves in terms of filthy awesome tone. You fellas killed it, and with Jerry being my favorite guitarist I NEED one lol.
That mod sounds tits yo🤘🏼
I have this same amp, that I love. *****HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST ME TO GET THIS SAME MOD DONE THAT YOU DID FOR MARK HUZANSKY?********MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT FROM SONNY IN NEW ORLEANS, LA. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I'M VERY INTERESTED, AND A PLEXI/MODDED PLEXI FANATIC.
You're in the US, contact Shea at Monomyth Amps for details.
@@HeadfirstAmpsYour a legend Jason with how you share your expert knowledge with us mere mortals lol. And how you are so solid for your friends sending work his way and not just thinking about money and your bottom line. I have family in AUS and NZ and when I visit them I'm coming by to shake your hand and you can't stop me lol.🤘🤘🤘
How do I get you guys to mod mine?
Email jason@headfirstamps.com or monomythamps@gmail.com
Can you still use a normal channel for a clean tone after it’s been modded?
Hmm, kinda. It will still have some hair on it
So turn the gain down and put a pedal in front 😁
Pre phase inverter master?
Yes 100%
That sounds fantastic
aite break it to me doc: if the guts of a studio-series marshall are pretty much identical to the guts of a mass-produced origin-series or a DSL-series, what did i basically pay for for my SV20--the namesake?? 😢 it is still the best amp i've ever owned, regardless.
The headshell is a lot nicer in the Studio series amps.
