He's actually an essential npc just catching his breath down below for 4 seconds, getting ready to attack the player till he drops again. He will slowly chip away the player's health until he's out of potions, out gold to buy potions, his armor is broken, and then dead. They will know the pain of abandoning quests.
The part where he’s getting some distance to pull the NPC further into the doorway is SO real! 😂 He didn’t try going up the stairs, but that might have just further blocked him into the house, or they were just decorative stairs and couldn’t be climbed.

Thats why I love Morrowind. A "essential" npc disrespected you? Just kill him. He is essetial to progress the story yes, but thats it. You just wont be able to continue the quest
It was not made for any overarching plot it was just so devs would have an easier time in the shops/buildings then after some thought the Dragon Quest was born out of it and they named it DragonBorn.
Not quite.. he said "hold" while Eugene was outside, but he followed Rowan for another couple of steps. If he'd done as he was programmed, he wouldn't have gotten stuck in the door. Bad AI! 😅
Or behind the counter. I found that path finding stuff takes the long way. So the set distance they try to maintain is still fulfilled and the NPC runs to the counter. You might be able to hop over the counter and out...might. Alternatively you get trapped into an even smaller space.
Yeah, or like in Fallout. You shoot from a cover, then Dogmeat pushes you out of it. Or you try to get back to cover, but your companion stands behind your back, and you dies because you can't move back.
I absolutely hate escort quest in any video game. Skyrim however has the best escort quests since most NPC you need to protect are essential for the mission at least.
I have 100% murdered escort quest people like this. Mostly when they've died from random enemies like 12 times so I just kill them myself and find a new quest

I think the mod was called "Move Damn It". Skyrim already has the feature where the NPC will step back a few steps if you repeatedly sprint into them, the mod just increases the distance they will step back and increases the probability they will step back. Problem is two NPC's blocking your way can have the second NPC preventing the first NPC from stepping back.
The only person that keeps blocking me is Delphine, every single time when she asked us to follow her into that damn secret room lol, for Lydia and others you just need to push them hard enough.

@@blacklegbeastro5295 Theres games where you can kill npc's in Skyrim you can you just cant kill essential npc's you can also do it in kingdoms of amular reckoning

I remember I had to install a Mod that makes "Npc move out of the way" in Skyrim. Such logic
Lucas José Pereira just sprint into them, they stumble back and tell you to watch it. Except when they get stuck on a pebble and do the stumbling animation without going anywhere ;-)

I think the mod was called "Move Damn It". Skyrim already has the feature where the NPC will step back a few steps if you repeatedly sprint into them, the mod just increases the distance they will step back and increases the probability they will step back. Problem is two NPC's blocking your way can have the second NPC preventing the first NPC from stepping back.
