The way she talks about Siouxsie is the way I talk about her.
I love that Patti Smith, Debbie Harry, Siouxsie Sioux, and Chrissie Hynde are Shirley's female musical inspirations.
Skeeter NYC she loves Fiona Apple too
I would have thought Suzi Quatro would be in there too.
Some 9if not all) are M to F !
So you love skanks - got it 😖
Shirley started in Goodbye Mr Mack in Edinburgh with Big John guitarist from The Exploited, he became Kurt Cobains guitar tech and Shirley went onwards to form Garbage with Kurt Cobains Producer on drums and yeah Siouxsie and the Banshees again influenced sooo many UK bands.
Siouxsie Sioux is my idol too I don't think anyone has influenced me more except Jesus Christ. Siouxsie is just an incredible lady and her music is timeless
so i ,the same happen ed to me.
Love Siouxsie!!!! You Go Shirley!!!!

She is so right on. Our generation the 80’s 90’s you would see bands only on magazines and their videos. When you finally see them in person it’s unreal. I met Siouxsie at an autograph signing in 1991 at Tower Records in LA. It was unreal to see her and Budgie and Steve Severn In person. I told her I was going to faint and she said oh please don’t.
Living in South America, I could only dream about seeing my idols. I remember taping a Sunday radio show that played punk and new wave music and that's how I got to hear many of them (The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Clash) for the first time.
Goddess and legend and ICON!!
Shirley Manson praising Siouxsie Sioux feels like an epic crossover ;____:
Absolutely, I just like the way she laugh loudly.💓
she's one hell of a lady, so genuine. I LOVE HER
Shirley's got good taste! 😉
I still listen to Siouxsie and the Banshees today.
Amazing work! ♥️
Yer I still have all my Vinyl all with covers from Hong Kong Garden onwards love punk music Garbage are just as brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻
I like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Echo & the Bunnymen, U2, The Smiths, The Cure, Killing Joke, The Pretenders, Rammstein, AC/DC, Oomph
someone has good taste.
I fucking love you Shirley. I love the fact you gave Siouxsie props. She is a QUEEN!!
Shirley is lovely, such a nice charismatic woman.
I love her Shirley Manson💗💗
Class act
Ugh Love Garbage and Siouxie Sioux, you can tell she got inspiration from her by the way she sings ❤️
I love Shirley Manson.
Siouxsie was once described as The Face That Launched A Thousand Bands and it's so true. There just isn't anyone like her and she ignites a passion in you that never really ends.
Yeah, Siouxsie is my idol too. I often get asked who's my favorite female singer & male singer. And just like Shirley, I have many. But my answer is always the same. Siouxsie Sioux for female & Morten Harket for male. Of course most of the time whoever asks me that question has no idea who I'm talking about. So I'm always obliged to go into detail. Hopefully "Love Crime" wasn't Siouxsie's swan song. We need Siouxsie. The world needs her. :)
She’s fabulous
Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie were such a damn good band. Nice to hear her give a shout-out to her roots.
LEGEND!
Very. Very cool.... couldn't agree more!
GODDES!!
Siouxie's Sioux's "Icons" 🥇
&
Garbage's Siouxsie and the Banshees cover of "City lies in Dust" is really awesome. 🥇
Love to both bands & both gals. :)
guys this woman is like 51/52 here ... I mean, just let that sink in for a moment. I don't get it. How can she still be this hot? It's unreal 🥰
Great attitude will always come across as sexy no matter who you are. Famous or not.
She and I have a fanatic bent in common. Our people, our subcultural nation would be living death-in-war but for Garbage their influence, their song's lyric. She and her band saved cool. Halah!
Exactly! Stay alive and have fun! 2:37
So, Siouxsie's next, upcoming solo LP should feature a backing/harmony vocal by Ms. Manson on a track.
Black Sun -- I sure hope not. She's still got so much more left to say and do w/ her art. "Love Crime" is too good to be a swan song...as Siouxsie herself said, "Amuse Bouche"...meaning, this was the appetizer before the main course, i.e. the parent album. Until Madame Sioux, herself, states that she's done, I will continue to patiently await with expectation, the unexpected...
I absolutely know how you feel. But, the fact that, right after recording "Love Crime" in 2014, Brian Reitzell stated, enthusiastically, that they had discovered a musical affinity for each other in the studio, and had 3 or 4 more songs they wished to work on, something's still "in the can". I gotta think that those future tunes are co-produced between them. Also, she did have a small amount of Creatures material she had demoed w/ (then-Husband, Budgie) still sitting in their home studio in France. Plus, she still intended to work w/ her Mantaray crew again, which, considering they are all professional musicians, puts a timeframe on when writing/recording can be done in blocks. Also, the fact that Siouxsie, herself, said, at Meltdown 2013, "I've been gone too long...way too long...time to make up for it." That statement has still got to be true, in her mind. I actually hope that, somehow, Siouxsie (or Yoko, for that matter) was perceptive (a la unlike the missed opportunity of the Peepshow Tour '88) and curious enough to have her 2 (now-legendary) Meltdown shows recorded (even if only in audio format) for posterity, considering that was the 33rd Anniversary revisiting of Kaleidoscope that Summer, and the live recordings seem to have come out very well done. That way, We'd have 2 new albums being released within close proximity. Hey, Steve Perry (of the bestselling Rock band, Journey) just released an excellent, diverse solo double LP/CD last week; and, for a decade, fans have disputed whether he could A. sing in his 60s and/or B. tell the truth about claiming to record an album of new music. Some people, last week and beyond, have to eat some crow, claiming that Mr. Perry was stringing his fan base along for the last 4 years, w/ a non-existent album. But, here We are, in October 2018, w/ Billboard showing a #6 chart debut for a third Steve Perry solo album. Truth-be-told, I'd LOVE for Siouxsie to send out a Facebook pic of a microphone in a studio, w/ the message: "Gotta get the old larynx up and running, again." Looking at what is ruling the charts, TV, and airwaves these days, I would love to see Siouxsie behead (and scalp) some of these cartoon characters. Right now (did I just make a pun?), I'll settle for a warm, happy message for the Halloween season, from The Lady. Don't give up...look at it this way: IF/WHEN she does return, how much more interesting and powerful will the forthcoming work be, considering she's had the most time to work on it? Trick-or-Treat...
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 Dude. I just special ordered Juju and it beats the crap out of all the terrible hip hop and pop that rules the charts. The new gen's music is terrible compared to 70's/80's.
Alexander Ozzy -- That's totally cool, man. I wish I could disagree w/ your statement about today's music, but, I can't. However, the really sad thing is, there are good bands and good albums being made in The 21st Century...the problem is, the music industry is not interesting in promoting it, because it doesn't fit their algorithm for what's considered a "hit record/album". There's also intense ageism going on over the last 5 years, at least...excellent, quality, new-classic LPs/CDs are being made by veteran artists, and they're not getting the publicity, praise, and exposure they should...for examples: Stevie Nicks' last two solo albums, Madonna's Rebel Heart, Don Henley's Cass County, Barry Gibb's In The Now, Janet Jackson's Unbreakable, Sting's 57th and 9th, and even Steve Perry's triumphant return doesn't get a heck of a lot of radio play. If all of these albums had been released 10 years earlier, let alone in the 1980s, they would all have been bona fide blockbusters, instead of just blockbusters in their respective fan bases. Do you have a favorite song/track/single from S&TB' Juju?
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 The whole album is amazing. Arabian Knights is the popular single from that album. But Into The Light, Halloween, Sin In My Heart, all good stuff. I think music labels have always been more interested in the young crowd with money; not old bands. So they continue to promote only what's hip, the terrible hip hop and pop music that resonates with this generation. Even if Siouxsie made a come back, it wouldn't be a blip on the radar. Sadly. I don't even know if the Banshees ever toured the U.S. back in the day. But I have to say that probably the most interesting bands of today will never get to see the light of day. Rolling Stone listed the best albums of 2018. About half of the artists I don't know. They're either internet sensations or come from The Voice. I don't listen to Drake, Taylor Swift or Maroon 5, so I only listen to old stuff.
Interesting because i saw Garbage at a festival back in the 90s and i couldnt take my eyes off Shirley. She has that X factor.... so does Siouxsie.
The alt queen
Mine as well!!!
always fancied her bad !!!!
what are her views on game censorship, and censorship in general?
She says they’re not very good looking, I disagree. ❤
What century does she think it is? Literally no one thinks women get less attention or awards, or recognition than men in music
isn't Shirley fantastic.
Love her....the last Rocker Women ever....nowadays they are comercial invención...
Mason.....
Why didn't she ever have children?
Roger Gonzalez because she decided not to? Some do get children some
People don’t, why is this even a question?
@@JL-qg3gz Because there are some assholes out there speculating that she is a transgender, you know, XXI century. By the way, they are doing the same with all the female rock icons who didn't have children.
Santiago Beneth that would be just the cherry on top! She’s so fascinating, she’s beyond labels and categories, she’s mermaid! She’s a witch! She’s a goddess!
Why does anybody care?? She owes *no one* an explanation.
And notice how nobody, literally nobody, asks this question to a man? Because everybody’s freaking sexist.

"Looks at the mirror every morning wondering when she will stop lying ti herself about her empty/lonely "feminist" life.
I'm 62 now... Shirley's still my crush. x.
