    How to remember the quadratic formula. (Search: Awesome way to remember quadratic formula)
    A "negative" boy "couldn't decide" if he wanted to go to a "radical" party. "Being square he decided "not to go" and missed out on "4 awesome chicks" the party didnt end till "2am"
    It makes not sense but it helps me remember so it works!

    It is a shame that you don't teach in a college somewhere! I would be honored to have you as an instructor in the classes that I have been taking, because the teachers today are LAZY! They just don't teach anymore! Your video had (6) examples and each one was different, which has given me a better under standing of the quadratic equations. P.S. Ms. Shirley is the best!!!!!

    I was struggling in my math class. My professor records video's and then posts them. He just doesn't go into detail like you do. I literally just discovered you my last 2 weeks of class and I'm so upset that I didn't find you sooner! The last video I watched (square root property) helped me understand the material. My professor skipped over posting a video about it, so I guess he expected us to learn that on our own. Once I watched your video, it blew through the homework in a matter of minutes where normally it would have taken me over an hour. Will definitely be using these video's when I get into my other math classes! Thanks for helping me pass my "remedial" math class!! I put remedial in parentheses because there is no chance that this is remedial. Now on to my College Algebra and Business Statistics math classes!!!

    That outro was HILARIOUS!!! My question is, in the last few problems, there wasn't an ordered pair or are the solutions the ordered pair?

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  9 лет назад

      None of the solutions are ordered pairs. We're giving you solutions sets. A set of values that will make the original problem true. The answers are actually the x-intercepts of the quadratic equation. So a solution of {-2,4} has ordered pairs that are (-2,0) and (4,0).

    Excellent! The only thing that I did not understand is why you change the 49 to 7 and took it out of the radical?

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  9 лет назад

      Similar to fractions, you always simplify radicals when possible. Check this video out: ruclips.net/video/M_zIjMICB3k/видео.html

    question..the part i get stuck on is when you have to set the equation to zero.like in the ex ,2x=4-7x. ..you decided to dd 7 and sub 4 from both sides..y is that ?c an you make a video thoroughly explaining why you subtract or add the paticular numbers please

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  9 лет назад

      Natalie 8 In order to use the quadratic formula, you need the values a, b and c from the formula. Finding the coefficients a, b, and c becomes easier if the equation is set equal to zero and in the form ax² + bx + c = 0.

    OK I'm confused! So in problem #2 C= -4
    after you plugged all the values, you simplified and got
    (this would be under the radical sign)
    49+32... (I get how you got 49 7x7) BUT #1 why aren't we using the - sign before the 4 and even if it's supposed to just stay as "subtract" #2 why did you do 4x2x4 and not 4x2x-4? is't C= -4? Help me Mr Whitt :)

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  8 лет назад

      +diane rozankowski I did use both the negative before the 4 and I used the value of c as -4. The product of (-4)(2)(-4) is 32. Because we have an even number of negative values the result must be positive so I focused on multiplying 4(2)(4) which is also 32. ruclips.net/video/HKxFtb28wmo/видео.html

    How would you calculate the 5 postive &negative with the square roots?

    • @FortBendTutoring
      @FortBendTutoring  5 лет назад +1

      You would either write them separately or calculate one with the positive using a calculator and then the other using the negative.
