I agree with having main characters with confidence, it’s so annoying to just watch a main character bitch and moan until the last episode, unlock their “potential” and then that’s the end.
I must say this was the only appealing part I heard about this anime. Have a confident main guy in essentially harem anime is interesting. And whadaya know he bangs them all :D
Every time I visit the nearest Cex shop (for the uninitiated, Cex is a brand of second-hand shops in the UK), I see one DVD of High-School of the Dead. Just the one. Even after two years, it's still there. There was one time I was tempted to buy it but, after careful consideration, I decided not to. And I once purchased the goddamn Dead or Alive movie from a different second-hand shop. 😄
I was going to mention this exactly. Admittedly, in School Days, it is the fatal sin for which the protagonist is ultimately punished, but he sure do fuck a lot.
This show is absolute gold. I watched it when it was 2012. 💀 the whole outbreak part gmfu. Even the slapping women part when they start acting out 😂 I know some people haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and go watch it. Sad the author passed away.
I liked it (from the manga) because it basically went through every single mayor zombie movie. I read it right after I read Bio-meat (I knew of very few manga with that zombie survival trope at the time) and I really wanted more of that. It had clean art and appreciated the references. I was also into Sankarea at the time: I really wanted zombie stuff around that age
I remember practically everything about this show despite not having watched it in a very long time. I always cringed at the fanservice, because I liked two things when I was a kid; anime and zombies, and I just wanted more of that. That eternal wait for season 2 even though it was never EVER coming out was pain.
It's surprising that the anime industry doesn't really have any interest in making zombie shows. These are the type of animes that would get a lot of attention given how the zombie genre is pretty much slept on in the industry.

"As a kid, you're not looking at this and thinking: damn that's retarded" -- Interestingly my viewing experience has been the completely opposite. When I watched the show back in 2010 as a young teenager I thought it was the dumbest shit and I only stuck with it because I was in that stage after discovering anime where I'd watch literally anything. Then for shits and giggles I re-watched the show in 2020 and the over the top nature of the show appealed to me way more as an adult than it did when I was a teenager. What I previously found to be awkward and cringe-worthy instead became hilarious and based.

I was always sad the MC didn't bash her over the head and feed her to the hordes... or at least leave her behind, the show constantly brought them together and its like, dude, she was banging your best friend and he (your friend) didn't give two shits about you or what he was doing, I would probably smirked as her turned and left them both... of course a am a spiteful prick but whatever.

Takeshi being a « delinquent » type of character is actually very refreshing. Cause generally in animes with a predominantly female cast, they tend to make male characters just some wishy washy pervert that is only capable of doing nice things and is too insecure to believe in himself. Believe it or not the buses brakes failing is actually realistic. Buses (and most diesel trucks) use air pressure for their brakes to work which requires a compressor can sometimes run off electricity instead of the power of the engine so that bus could have the air compressor knocked out because of the EMP and now they can’t build air pressure to stop the bus. But besides that the whole EPM thing is still kind of confusing

Mine is waiting for the manga update and knowing months later that the manga was in hiatus for years and the just died a month ago.
"Hmm. Where was this made again? Hmm." - That train of thought alone provides an explanation for everything.

I remember practically everything about this show despite not having watched it in a very long time. Believe it or not the buses brakes failing is actually realistic.
